Actually very happy with my picks. Struggled a bit with my American pick though. Jorgenson and Sheffield gone left fewer options than I expected. Powless could be great if he actually decides to ride the classics. But it it's like last year, and he doesn't, we could be screwed.

Oh shit... I thought 3rd in the draft would be enough to get Hirschi, really sad to not have him
You were the third one with him on top of his list, even 2nd wasn't enough Let's hope de Lie does better than last season and Pithie can live up to what he has shown last season. Madouas should be a solid scorer in all terrains, so we could have a nice core already.

Pretty happy to get Pedersen at 4 in R1, he was great for me 2 years ago and was my first choice. R2 it feels like the difference between being in top 4 or 5 and everyone else is huge. Can live with Sheffield as it doesn't seem like Ineos have that many options. To me Phillipsen is the steal of R3 as by far the best guy who qualifies for neither R1 or R2.

First of all, very lucky to be #1 in the even rounds. With Tadej,I hope we can be in contention for the first time Other years I butchered the supporting cast, so we hope for the best this time!

Draft R4-6
First of all, a big thank you to everyone for sending everything in on time and in the prefered format. Everything goes a lot smoother because of that and that makes me less annoyed if someone's R5 list contained 6 guys who did not win a GT stage yet
Round 4 had the expected names coming back a few times. Some people had to go really low on their list because of that. Fabianski's Suisse team took another blow here.
Round 5 once again very similar names, with people in the end going down a lot on their list. Vauquelin went rather late all things considered. And Laurens' short list really hurt BBL for the next round.
Round 6 made sure their are virtually no Belgian cyclists left anywhere, with only the Cobblers looking to Spain. Round 9 will be interesting. I'll add the draft so far on the first page as well.
| Spokes | Cobblers | Fearless | L | Mariners | Bonkers | GPTs | Racoons | Ice Tulips | Turuls | Inspectors | Comrades | Pacifiers | Hornets | R4 | GAUTHERAT Pierre | MARTINEZ Lenny | BITTNER Pavel | ORINS Robin | MIHKELS Madis | TARLING Joshua | UIJTDEBROEKS Cian | ONLEY Oscar | VACEK Mathias | CHRISTEN Jan | TEUTENBERG Tim Torn | NYS Thibau | MAGNIER Paul | GREGOIRE Roman | R5 | NARVAEZ Jhonatan | HEALY Ben | GROENEWEGEN Dylan | WELLENS Tim | MEEUS Jordi | TEUNISSEN Mike | BETTIOL Alberto | LAFAY Victor | NIZZOLO Giacomo | KRISTOFF Alexander | BARDET Romain | PARET-PEINTRE Aurelien | VAUQUELIN Kevin | WOODS Michael | R6 | HERMANS Quinten | MAS Enric | MOZZATO Luca | PARET-PEINTRE Valentin | VAN DEN BERG Marijn | COTE Pier-Andre | TURGIS Anthony | THIJSSEN Gerben | NAESEN Oliver | MARTIN Guillaume | VANSEVENANT Mauri | BENOOT Tiesj | VERMEERSCH Florian | ZINGLE Axel |
Four rounds next:
R7: A rider from a PCT team
R8: A rider who was in a PCT team last year
R9: A rider from your home nation or a country bordering it (pick only one country)
R10: Free pick
Please send them in by friday 14/02 at 08:00 in the morning. The draft might be a bit later again, but at least I'll have everything in time.
For the round after, I will ask you for:
Spoiler R11: A rider from the country with most riders after R10 (your pick in case of a tie)
R12: A rider from your home nation
R13: Free pick
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I got riders who were high on my lists in all three rounds and should have some potnetially good scorers for the hilly classics. But I'll have to hope Martinez will still ride some of the smaller French races he did so well in last season though not in a French team anymore (I know why I had preferred Gregoire).
Healy could be great if he gets something out of his active racing style, but he's clearly a guy worth rooting for anyway. But how could I miss out on Vauquelin there? I probably didn't have him in mind as a GC stage winner
Going for Spanish riders could also proof a good choice given the huge interest in the Belgians. Mas is planned to race in the Ardennes as well as some of the French races, but he's still kind of a gamble. But I wasn't set up well for the hilly races last season, so I hopefully have those races covered better this year.
Overall the Pacifiers have got some pretty nice riders this rounds.

Decent picks for us this time too though I would have really preferred to be either closer to the top or the bottom of the draft order

Being in the middle can be very painful. Way down my list on R4 and then I missed out on Wellens in R5 by 1 spot.
I agree Pacifiers are starting to look as an early favourite.

So, we end up with 3 sprinters... Groenewegen and Mozzato aren't unexpected given that they were my top picks, although in hindsight maybe I should've put Wellens on top of the GT stage winners list. Bittner is OK, although I'd obviously have loved to get Christen - but I'm definitely at the wrong end of the draft order for that.
We're obviously pretty heavy on the cobbles/sprints side now with Pidcock, Morgado, Bittner, Groenewegen and Mozzato. Fortunately, Pidcock can do any type of race, and Schmid hopefully has better form than last year in the hills as well. But the strategy for the next rounds is pretty clear...

Thank you for the work again, Ollfardh. Magnier feels like a gamble compared to Nys and some others, but I guess I have nothing to lose Vauquelin as another Frenchman for a French team is certainly nice, hopefully he tries his luck at enough classics, but was indeed also hoping some people forgot about his stage win in TDF last year. Vermeersch had bad luck last year, so hopefully he's back at full force now, and even when performs a little bit less than hoped, there's always Pogi points as well on offer for him

well, we got who we wanted in round 5 haha! I'm really struggling with being last pick in even rounds and knowing how to play.
Thought picking Belgium for this round as my border gave me the best shot and I think Hermans is still a great pick for me still - although a Vansevenant or Thijssen were preferred (Meeus and Wellens going in 5 didn't help either)
All things considered though, I think this is working out for me well enough in the front spot. Looking forward to the next rounds.

Interesting rounds 4-6 for me. Nys heavily depends on how many classics he actually races, but he has potential. Aurelien Paret-Peintre is on the startlist for quite a few and hopefully he will be able to do well consistently. Had Vauquelin on the list, but I was worried he would concentrate more on stage races. We'll see how that pans out. Happy with Benoot in R6. He's not getting younger and might get caught in the Visma machine, but I think he should still deliver well overall.
With the next rounds, I'm now very much in throw things at the wall and see what sticks mode No idea if any of my picks will be any good, but it was fun to comb through the teams nonetheless.

Sorry, I won't make the deadline. Been sick almost all week long, hardly able to stay up 30mins. Tried to do this now, but just no energy left
