Tough to be excited for 16th on GC, when I think Reguigui is likely to lose more spots than gain. Have to hope for a Squire/Alarcon breakaway although Alarcon dropped much earlier than ideal on stage 4.
Overall impressed with Oka this race though. Didn't find the right positioning, but he is much more in contention for stage 1 and 5 than expected and I have some faith for him moving forward.
Been a lovely race to watch!

Weird to see 35 men in the main group, but nontheless congrats to TheUlamog and Blasing with their victory
Definitely a successful race for us with stage victory, GC podium and points classification.
Thanks UU for all the work!

How on earth is a group that big able to stay together after a stage like that
Awesome to see Verschaeve get a win! So sad that we couldn’t keep him during transfers, but it’s really great to see him get a big win for his new team!

Team doing a big sacrifice for Berhane here, but it was worth it! Good to see him winning a GC, stage races like these is why we signed him.
Thanks for the great reports and what a race it has been!

In the break again, this time with Shirota. Shame none of our guys got into the break more than once, and as such we didn't get much out of the KOM. Still a decent outing in our only C2 race of the season.
Congrats to the winners and thanks for the reports Ulrich

This exceeded my expectations - I was looking for Top 10 finish at best, yet finished in the Top 5 + 2nd in Points to boot. Unfortunately he was our only ranking scorer as Barta severely underperformed (which considering his Hong Kong run earlier is a shame) and couldn't expect miracles from our other riders (the TT contigent + our loanees and stags)
Thanks for the reports UU and congrats to JEWA-Tirol for Berhane's win

Never expected the stage to be sooooo lame with that profile. Guess the last climb just wasn't steep enough to do some selection, but - in my opinion - 30+ riders finishing in the first group of the pack still is awful to see and feels like a regression compared to the previous version (also looking at T-A).
Nonetheless, big congrats to Berhane on his first GC win of the year! With Lunke and Chiarello on the podium as well, I guess we have the division's Top 3 stage racers up there (with Munoz unfortunately being as disappointing as last year).
Congrats as well to Babymetal on the S6 win - guess it was their first one?
Kudos to Genii for that Pavlic performance - must be among the year's biggest overperformances, but it wasn't him who decided that the stages wouldn't be selective
And last but not least, thanks to Ulrich for the reports

A disappointing missed goal, I must say, as we should have been able to get a top 5, though in the end, I knew Mikkel wouldn't be attacking in this last stage.
Good work from Lafay though, that gives me optimism on our C1/HC runs. We're not that far off a stage win or the KoM.
And in the end, it remains a far better than last year's result.
Congrats Blasing, thank you for the report!

Really dissapointing last stage for us, Garby haven't delivered as expected yet, but we'll try again next time. If we only bring points in the cobbled races, this season won't lead to promotion, but we have high hopes for the remaining races
Congrats to Blasing and Berhane, and thank you Ulrich! |

I'll take the Top10GC and lament a missed opportunity for Canty to bag some more points, and the missed chances for Mayer. Solid race for us, bit weird in AI overall. Onwards!

I'm absolutely hyped to see the team perform well for this one! GC is always hard with a bad TTT team but this time they delivered in other ways. Didn't expect to win that last stage at all so that's just icing on the cake. Congrats to Jewa Tirol for winning the GC! And also thx Ulrich for the reporting! |
