Great TT for us, Lunke keeping us in the fight after a not great start to the Hilly season for Eiking.
Only me who's OCD hates the STAGE ONE, STAGE TWO instead of Stage 1 and Stage 2 etc.? Haha
Great reporting eitherway, thank you so much!

Another nice victory for us Now the hardest part will come in defending the jersey for 3 mountain days. Especially stage 8 looks really tough.
Thanks for the excellent report lief!

Great result by Kritskiy on the TT Now we can both defend GC or chase breakaways

Getting through with Canty/O'Connor. Quiet but we desperately need to bag these solid points to put a halt to our nasty nasty skid of results.

I hoped for Manfredi to take the victory, but in the end a deserved win for kandesbuzler. By far the two strongest teams in the breakaway.

Seems like we are working for Gjensidige, Crabbe and Caja, which is not good. We'll need all the energy we can get in the next days.
Good enough stage otherwise. Mikkel stayed out of trouble.

Chevrier winning a stage was completely unexpected (already equalling our teams last season win count in January), Karatsivis also on the podium is just great (what are the chances for SotD letting him go ). Plus Vauquelin shows himself in a break for the first time and APP keeps attacking, and though he didn't gain any time he also didn't lose any, so he's still within podium range. Also shout-out to Simba Cement for a good stage result (including our alumnus Gogl). All in all, just a really nice day in the office

YES! Old man still got it! Now a similar performance next stage and we should have enough of a gap to survive the ITT on stage 10. Here's hope that Berhane can reach a top 5 spot in GC!
Also @Leif: Great reports through all the stages so far, thank you!

C'mon Canty! Keep going so that you can steal a Top5 GC in the ITT

Good enough for Rochas and Tatarinov to avoid us doing any work, coming back into the top 25 and in the team classification run.
As usual, Iturria only following, thus losing the podium spot he won yesterday.
But winning some time on the biggest TT opponents (Paret-Peintre, Elosegui, Davila, Canty) would be nice.
Thanks for the report! Exciting two days to come!

Content with this result. A top 3 definitely is on the book now, with Davila the biggest threat I think.
Would like to be back on the team's podium too.
Thanks for the report!

It's a pity that Berhane wasn't able to get a gap in todays stage and a top 3 finish is in jeopardy now with another ITT coming up. Currently we have #3 in GC and #3 in sprints classification, so here is hoping that things keep this way!

Why do I f*cking bother... even a Top10 GC will be a struggle.
At least I can put promotion thoughts out of my head in month one of the season and take the remaining nine to work out if I can muster the strength to keep the project going.
_____
Also as a note on reports, I found the last couple kinda hard to follow and seemingly missing notable moments or riders actions. (Eg Canty cracking and dropping from 6th GC and a genuine podium shot because of his TT to outside the Top15 - that was an unpleasant shock to find only by looking at the results)

25 seconds, means we are in reach for the last stage. Let's hope for a +5 day for Lunke.

Chiarello suffering quite a lot especially on stage 8, maybe the complete lack of support took its toll there. Still, being on par with Lunke in TTs, he looks to have this one in the bag, especially with the daily form restriction to +/-2 - but if these 9 days have tired him more than the Norvegian, we could be in for a great duel on the final day
Same for 3rd place, with Iturria and Lemus Davila pretty much level in terms of TTing - I honestly can't see Berhane holding onto that 3rd place with that tiny 12" advantage. He might even drop out of the Top 5, depending on how strong APP will be.
I'm a bit disappointed by Elosegui to be honest - just because he confirms that energy stats are still almost completely irrelevant. And Munoz was invisible in the mountains, which is pretty disappointing as well, but unfortunately not fully unexpected given that he was already disappointing for LPH last year.
Thanks for the reports, looking forward to the decisive final stage

I hope this is incorrect about energy stats because it's the only excuse I have left for this season.

After seeing Mannion's disaster on the earlier mountain days of the race, I was feeling pretty hopeless on Adidas-Eurocash' chances as a whole in the CT, but what a win on stage 9! Never giving up and pacing himself well! Excellent inaugural win for Adidas! |
