Aurelien Paret-Peintre has the potential to dominate the CT and Clement Russo is an excellent replacement for Alaphilippe. Felix Gall adds another notch to an excellent medium-mountain squad. My only concern is the lack of diversity: no pure sprinter, no flandrienne, no timetriallist; you'll be needing strong performances on undulating parcours, although with the team you've built it certainly is possible.

We got an Aussie loaned in, so we thought why not also get a Kiwi? Reuben Thompson joins us for a year from former CT fellows Spark-BNZ racing, who also will be paying his wage.

In our final deal of the transfer season we signed Daniel Paulus from Evonik – ELKO for a fee of 257,000. He’s on minimum wage and will be a useful domestique for any kind of mountain or hill race to Teuns, Paret-Peintre or fellow Austrian Gall, always with a chance of him scoring himself.

We're happy to announce our first three stagiaires (a fourth will be added when other teams stop overbidding us ).
Valentin Paret-Peintre is united with his older brother Aurelien. Although he’s not quite as talented as his brother, he’s nonetheless going to be a decent climber some day.
Spoiler | | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Valentin Paret-Peintre | 64 | 66 | 66 | 56 | 66 | 64 | 62 | 50 | 60 | 60 | 68 | 57 | 56 | 22 |
Evan Russell is our only stagiaire from North America. The young Canadian is actually a gravel rider and could be trained to be a domestique for nearly all terrains given his versatility.
Spoiler | | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Evan Russell | 66 | 64 | 66 | 63 | 67 | 69 | 64 | 63 | 66 | 69 | 68 | 65 | 64 | 22 |
We didn’t sign Hugo Toumire just for his lovely smile (and moustache) but because he’s also another French climbing or even stage racing talent and going to be a decent domestique one day.

So here it is, our preliminary squad for next season (with one stagiaire and the CT draft riders still to be added).
Though we couldn't sign all our target riders, we're quite content with the results of this transfer season. We got plenty of depth in the mountain and hill department and (maybe even more important) we have a quite nice age structure within our riders. As a real go for promotion is only intended for the 2024 season, our main goals for this season are fulfilling our race goals and get some more wins than the 2 of our inaugural season.

That hills squad with APP, Teuns and Paulus looks nasty! Vauquelin also a real good get!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Love the two PP brothers reunited And love Toumire's moustache as well
You have a strong teams for the mountains and hills, with one decent sprinter as well. None of them declining next season neither. I hope it's enough for a top-10, and possibly better.

Overall a great team and another Member for the "Who cares about Cobbles"-Club . A lot great pieces could be added but the best is Vauquelin I wished i could have batlled for him too but my priorities were different. YOu have a great Talent for the future there and that even for a reasonable wage atm! Good luck for the season and just go for promotion with our team

I can appreciate a strong MO-HI setup, although it would be even nicer if they had some TT support. But you're clearly invested in the future with the two loaned out riders and Vauquelin of course.

Quite the small team!
We'll fight on the mountains and the hills, and I've a race in mind I suppose is a common goal. You've got the upper hand for now, looking at the stats.
Sad you missed Laurance I'd have love to see in a French team, when I couldn't get him.
And we didn't even fight so much in the end!

Incredibly stacked going uphill. APP will be a star in CT, so a really good get that one! Nice that he's united with his brother as well. Vauquelin is one of the top talents of this season, so that's another fantastic addition.

Like a couple of CT teams I commented on previously, awesome depth in the hills and climbing department. It will be a big fight to grab those points there. I'm glad to have at least 1 cobbles leader where the competition isn't so fierce
I love the local talent on your roster! Should have a good future to build on.

You are in a spot on position for promotion with that hilly department. And some brilliant loan out riders aswell.
Will be rooting for my greek rider

Not the p-word again from you! I'm still haunted from your far too optimistic call last season

I honestly don't know if promotion is already in the cards with covering just 2 terrains. You cover them really well - however, mountains and hills are also the most crowded terrains, besides sprints maybe.
If APP dominates the division like Saber did - he does have the tools to do so in certain types of races - then I agree with SotD that you could finish very high up. On the other hand, you're out of all GC races with TTs, you don't have cobblers, you don't even have stage race sprinters (except for Russo, who could do great in tougher stages), so it remains to be seen where else than in uphill races you can score some decent points. But I definitely love to see APP riding for you, and he won't disappoint!

@Fab
I'm not really aiming at promotion this season anyway, so it'll be all about building the core for the fight for promotion in 2024 and achieving our season goals - and you can bet they're not cobbled races
And though you're right that we don't cover sprints, TTs and cobbles we know what we have to do next transfer season. Given that APP is probably still on a FA wage from his bidding war last season and there should be quite some cap to save on Vauquelin there should be a nice sprinter and maybe some TT depth in it next year.

"How do you forsee your team doing this season?"
It's on an upwards trajectory
"You mean promotion?"
No, we only ride uphill!
At least in PCM it's the best way to get success, and APP should deliver plenty of that. As should Teuns. And so on. Frankly it's one of the best CT teams akin to the legendary Gazelle or Strava seasons, and a title favourite. No pressure

Zhihui Jiang was our first pick in the CT draft and even number one of our list. He’s not only the first ever Asian riding for our team (thus making it 6/6 continents for our team after just two seasons) but also a great prologue specialist and a decent sprint leadout – which is of course a bit ironic as we don’t even have a pure sprinter.
Spoiler | | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Zhihui Jiang | 72 | 61 | 66 | 65 | 69 | 73 | 72 | 62 | 75 | 75 | 65 | 73 | 79 | 29 |
Maurits Lammertink is a veteran puncheur who’s not only going to be another domestique for the likes of Teuns, APP or Paulus but also a great break away rider, which was the main reason for choosing him.
Spoiler | | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Maurits Lammertink | 73 | 67 | 75 | 65 | 73 | 71 | 72 | 59 | 67 | 67 | 80 | 72 | 67 | 33 |
Young Frenchman Alex Baudin was not actually drafted, but he’s our fourth stagiaire for this season and an important piece of the squad as he makes us reach the minimum rider number. He wasn’t our first choice (we just bid on 4 other riders before, not counting those who were contracted by other teams before we could even bid on them), but he’s going to be another stage race domestique some day.
Spoiler | | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Alex Baudin | 65 | 66 | 66 | 66 | 68 | 66 | 67 | 63 | 63 | 66 | 67 | 65 | 63 | 22 |

Like I said in the draft thread, it's great to see that you picked up Lammertink. He should do very well for you in CT.
