Sorry about the less posts, was away for the weekend...
Stage 2 saw an amazing thing happen - Stoltz getting bonus seconds to put himself into the leader's jersey!! Gotta love that. knockout are you watching?
Stage 3 and 4 were very solid from Barta and to now have him 3rd in the GC and leading the Points is a great position to be in.
Thanks for the reports so far and congrats to all the winners

Dangit. Olesen got into the break again like he had to, but must have been too tired after yesterday to keep up properly. Otherwise he would normally be a step above Fortunato and especially Croes in terms of pure stats on such a stage.
Always sucks to be dropped from a winning break. Those stage points would have been pretty nice. But at least he did enough to stay within striking distance of the KOM. STage 6 will obviously be the decided for that, so we can only hope for good daily form after resting on the flat day.

That was some really smart racing by Stepniak, which brings us the 3rd sprint podium of the year. He did great to choose Bennett's wheel, but unfortunately wasn't quite able to come around in the end. Definitely a deserved win for Glanbia, though, congrats!
Now up to Mäder to win the mountain stage and the GC
Don't really know what to expect from him, to be honest. The climber field is pretty stacked (for CT level), so he could be anywhere from winning to outside the Top 10. I'm clearly hoping to be close to the former, but daily form will have a massive impact I guess.
Thanks for the report, LLS!

Yes! Thanks for the congrats and the report.
That Frame-Bennett partnership seems to be hitting the sweet spot !
Into the business end of things, targeting a top 5 for Talansky, Top 10 for Craddock and Sammy to keep the Green Jersey.

Good lead out and Bennett makes it count. Congrats to Glanbia.
Ho hum for us, we leave it up to Warbasse to produce something interesting.

Decent race from Guerao, which brings us some needed points. Third sprint place especially was good enough.
Shame that Mottin was just outside the one point for the first stage though.
Good race from Itturia (and Armirail and Doubey) for now. Most of the GC will be decided in the mountain now, so we'll have to be good to be high up the GC.
Thanks for the reports! |

Great mountain stage by Mäder, exactly what we needed! A bit disappointing that there weren't any gaps behind him, but that only confirms the expected close race among all those top CT climbers; really not much separating most of them.
Also, a big stage by Schmid - unfortunate to lose so much time earlier in the race, but he'll still score some U25 points here.
What to expect from the TT then? Well, on paper Mäder is the strongest TTer among the GC contenders, and furthermore has best Res/Rec. So hoping for a podium shouldn't be overambitious - and even the win should be possible. But we all know it'll come down to daily form among Barta, Warbasse, Mäder, Iturria, Talansky and maybe Kozhatayev. Fabbro shouldn't be able to defend his lead, and Ablenado probably is too far behind. It'll be a tense race for sure!
Congrats to Oktal on the stage win, and thanks for the report to LLS!

Damn. It looked very promising going in with four riders in the break, but it seems Olesen lost all 3 helpers before we even got to the HC climb. Then when it came down to it, he didn't have the legs to actually challenge for the top points. And even then, he would have managed to take the KOM jersey if only the pack or even Ablenado alone had reached Teuns. But it was not to be.
Sucks to lose out on the KOM by one point, and also sucks to be in a winning break but not hold on again. But alas, these are C2 race days, and we tried our best. Definitely put our best foot forward strategy wise given our weaknesses here. So I can't complain.
Very weak ride from Warbasse, but the generous timing from the judges means all is to play for on the final day. Mäder is probably the favorite now, but it will be a great showdown.
Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the report !
Talansky sticking with the favourites but looking at his TT ability holding onto 6th would be a good finish.
Craddock, on the other hand, could gain and get that top 10.
Along with Bennett hopefully holding onto Green and his Stage Win it would be a good race for Glanbia.

Well we lost a bit of our depth, though Fabien had a good ride, which is good to see. Let's hope he'll not lose too much time in the TT and keep a Top 20.
Mikkel still a bit anounymous, but holding on and even gaining one more place. Let's hope he can keep it, or even improve it tomorrow. Let's go Bordeaux!
Congrats to the winning break and thanks LLS for the report! |

I think I can repeat my ho hum post. Not a disaster not exciting. The generous time gaps saved Warbasse there. A good TT tomorrow and all is forgiven.
Annoying that Hoehn and Rhim have taken turns losing time meaning we are well down on the teams and neither of them is in a great GC spot.
Thanks for the report LLS and appreciate you keeping C2 moving.

Croes with a valiant KoM effort, and he continues to stack up well against better and more experienced riders. Rapidly becoming a real fan favorite and marketable rider!

One of our best races so far:
Alaphilippe with some expectable sprint results about 10th place.
Obviously we're very happy with Teuns' results in his first real race for us, and though we'd really preferred a stage win over the two second places, the KoM jersey is an unexpected but great consolation.
And finally Henao still being in the top 10 of GC with a real chance of staying there after the final TT shows he's a decent GC captain for our new team.

Schleck was up there in the favourites group. Unfortunately not the best lead up so still in 15th overall but hopefully a good time trial in the last stage!
