Thank goodness January is over - Renault riders must have eaten too many slices of Bûche de Noël! Hope they manage to ride off the extra weight by February

The good news is our upgraded TTT team overperformed with third in the TTT, sure that was our best result ever in that discipline. The bad news is a poor stage 4 really cost us and left us with only minor GC points in a race I had hoped for better from.
Pogacar (Vito that is) with a 2nd on the last stage from the break and Mapemba 3rd on U25 at least means we picked up some miscellaneous points.
Thanks for the first month of reports.

Well, it was certainly an exciting race in Indonesia. Figueiredo getting us off to a solid start with the initial stage win, before holding the jersey through to the ITT. Then an absolute shocker on the flat stage as he somehow lost 8 minutes, although fortunately Oliveira was there to take over for him. Even then, Oliveira lost a horrendous amount of time on that final stage and was lucky to slot into the podium.

Great start to the season for the full team. Don't expect the dev team to be near as good as last season, so it's just a fun season with them.

Thanks for the ranking updates. Was quite surprised to see us only in 14th place, but we only did Indonesia so far, and a 5th GC rank seems to be worth even less than what I thought.
@Shonak
Would it be possible to add the rankings category on top of the posts? It's not easy to see which post contains which ranking, and it will be even less so after a couple of months (e.g. World Tour - Individual - January).
Additionally, the link to the points file seems to be broken; would it be possible to fix that?
Thanks a lot for all your work!

Great race for us at our most obvious Goal Race Toowoomba! Mohoric doing well and the depth similarly. Also absolutely loved what David Frigola did for our Sirangon Project, amazing ride in Gabon.

Good month for us. Nice to see Aviva Futura leading in the U23, but it will be a while until we ride the next race, we don't care for hills or cobblestones.

No stop I don't want to go back to WT
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Not much is clear for us from the rankings yet after just a month where we raced quite a bit. But nice to bank some World Cup points early.

Not a bad start. Great consistency so far, but Zillioli underperforming a bit so far.

Looks like our juniors don't really take the race in Portugal seriously Two more chances to at least get into a breakaway or show a decent TT (looking at you, Germán), else it's gonna be a wasted race. Guess that happens for the dev teams every now and then

Thank you for posting the profiles with the results! Very very useful to have them right there.
Thrilled to have our first win of the season too! Clearly Bennett doesn't need my amazing Irish NC design to win sprints, the cuff stripes do fine. And with the 5th on stage 2 as well, he's now very well set up for the points jersey.
Now it's time for Mullen to flex his muscle.

The dev team beat the main team in January by the small fact of simply racing, but it provided motivation to the team in Algarve to sprint en masse

Not our rider, but seeing Vsevolod Butenko (our former rider) winning for Islandsbanki (shirt created for a custom career of mine) is just really wholesome to see. Still loving that the shirt & sponsor found a way into ICL, and this successful on top.

Butenko, you legend! First outing for the dev team and immediately a win in their new colours! Was a bit disappointed to not see them in the break on S1 and I guess they received that message loud and clear.
Thanks a lot for including the race profiles

Credit to Nemolito for the idea. Will try keep doing it at least for the stage races. |

Fantastic race for us and what a debut for Mullen! After the TT I was fine with a podium, but then he really impressed to drop Morton on the hilly stage and just barely do enough to stay ahead of Oliveira. A GC victory is incredible for us.
Add to that Bennett holding the points jersey after his stage win, and just an amazing job by the Guinness boys, led by two Irish stars.

Don't like that our Dev team did absolutely nothing in this race, especially given how well other dev teams have already performed this year, but I guess they were mostly lucky. Onto the next races.
