Transfer Update 3
And now, we proudly present the other incoming transfers!
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | Wage | | Yves Lampaert | 75 | 60 | 66 | 56 | 74 | 73 | 69 | 78 | 60 | 61 | 71 | 67 | 56 | 31 | 5 | 70,000 | | Dries De Bondt | 76 | 62 | 67 | 57 | 72 | 69 | 68 | 72 | 74 | 76 | 76 | 61 | 57 | 31 | 4 | 50,000 | | Loic Vliegen | 71 | 67 | 77 | 61 | 76 | 70 | 70 | 68 | 66 | 74 | 71 | 69 | 67 | 29 | 4 | 70,000 | | Carlos Betancourt | 68 | 72 | 79 | 59 | 70 | 69 | 62 | 51 | 66 | 72 | 74 | 66 | 58 | 33 | 4 | 100,000 | | Federico Olei | 69 | 66 | 73 | 62 | 73 | 71 | 72 | 51 | 75 | 75 | 62 | 62 | 69 | 26 | 6 | 55,000 |
It was totally unplanned, but relying on Saber to score most of our points would be insane. With that in mind, we brought in Lampaert, Vliegen and Betancourt as leaders on other terrain. Most people would expect Saber to take both the cobble classics and the flat sprints, but with so low racedays in CT it would be simply insane to fit them all. Although Vliegen would be mostly a very good domestique for Betancourt, his performances last season call for him leading the army once in a while! Ofcourse, a cobble domestique was needed, and there is where Driesje comes in. And last but not least, ever since I had chosen San Marino as our base of operations I had a dream. Bring the Sanmarinese National Champion back home! And so we did, Federico Olei will be riding in our beautiful colours this season, albeit with the beautiful San Marino flag across his chest. These transfers were definitely not cheap, €350.000 for Lampaert and Vliegen, €100.000 for De Bondt, €200.000 for Betancourt and €65.000 for Olei, but here we express our ambitions to the world. We will be heavily relying on these bad boys to score the most of our points this season along with Saber and Quispe.
But theres one more permanent transfer to unveil.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | Wage | | Darijus Dzervus | 73 | 54 | 66 | 71 | 73 | 72 | 75 | 57 | 77 | 77 | 71 | 65 | 76 | 32 | 5 | 50,000 |
With an FA bid that probably flew under the radar slightly, we were able to sign Dzervus on minimum wage. An excellent sprinter and prologue rider joins the team! The veteran Lithuanian will serve as second in command to Saber, and supporting the Sultan where needed.
People will probably wonder, where did a new CT team get all this money? But thats a question for Transfer Update 4; the loanees.

Oh man I’m fully on board with the Dzervus signing. My first season (8 years ago mind you) I had Lithuanian Aidis Kruopis (very similar stats, 78sp, 70hil, decent cob) as my top point scorer and he ultimately led my team to promotion in my first year. He went under the radar during transfers too and I got him super cheap, maybe a good omen for you?

I hope Vliegen and Lampaert do well for you. Last time I sold a Belgian to a CT team, it didn't work out perfectly, but I'm confident both will carry their weight. Got my fingers crossed for them and you!

Transfer Update 4
Now it's time to unveil our loanees for this season so far. Colombini-Adler likes to think we are a youth-focused team. (With a veteran core to score points.) We extended this vision to youths of other teams, offering our help to get them developed and ready for the big stage. These loanees are.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | Wage | | Luigi Giulietti | 69 | 65 | 68 | 69 | 69 | 69 | 70 | 69 | 66 | 68 | 62 | 74 | 69 | 23 | 4 | 50,000 | | Soren Waerenskjold | 68 | 59 | 65 | 69 | 71 | 71 | 63 | 66 | 67 | 64 | 64 | 60 | 69 | 22 | 3 | 100,000 | | Jose Pablo Aguilar Mendez | 68 | 54 | 55 | 69 | 66 | 66 | 65 | 51 | 62 | 68 | 63 | 65 | 69 | 22 | 5 | 50,000 |
Luigi has come on the team on behalf of Sauber Petronas Racing. It's only logical we would help our fellow Sanmarinese team develop their youth. For this deal with a 1>3 clause we recieved €150,000.
Next up; Soren Waerenskjold. Gjensidige offered the best possible deal. Also a 1>3 clause, but for paying his €100,000 wage we recieved €500,000. That was too much to turn down!
The crazy chickens wanted a 1>3 aswel. So we negotiated a deal for J.Pag and recieved €150,000.
That brings the total to €800,000 in loan fees. Thanks to these 3 teams we were abl to afford Lampaert, Vliegen, Betancourt and Olei. So for that, thank you! It also helped us sack a Free Agent we had impulsively signed early on. Thats right, Mark Cavendish was ours for about three days! But he then decided after a night out, that the nightlife in San Marino wasn't up to par compared to Magaluf. So we paid the fine, and he went on his way! Good luck Cav!
This brings us to our current team. Our transfers are mostly done, besides the CT Draft, so we can safely say we know who will ride in our colors this year!

With an average OVL of 71 and an average age of 26,37 y/o we believe we have built a stable team for our debut season! Hopefully we can have a good draft and put the icing on the cake for the Go big or go home season.

You've done a really solid job for a first year team - I think you'll come to know I am not a Betancourt guy but maybe in CT he can prove me wrong. Saber is a genuine CT destroyer if he works out so even if the whole picture doesn't add up to promotion (which I'd guess it still can) he could mean that you are very much at the forefront of a lot of races

I'm very interested to see what a team built around Saber does in CT. He's an amazing piece to build around, but I fear maybe almost too amazing? He's now the best sprinter in CT, plus he could easily win some cobbled races in C2. But he probably can't perfectly utilize that versatility with his limited race days in CT. Not to say he won't be amazing still, and Lampaert being a cobbles leader too helps. But I'm very interested to see how you plan him to maximize his chances.
Very solid team all around though. Betancourt is a great CT leader with a great lieutenant, and you've gotten the San Marino representation to a sizeable faction. Well done!

Damn. Lampaert, Saber, Betancourt, Vliegen. And even Quispe. Very strong team. Planning for some leaders might interfere a bit, but if you can get it right promotion might be on the table. Thanks for taking in Aguilar Mendez btw, by the looks of it he could actually be useful in your TTT setup

Aquilani will be good for you when maxed, and you've built a side that should be challenging for Promotion straight away which will only make it harder for me to get talents like him in the future.

Lampaert could be a real xfactor on the cobbles this season, even with Fenn taking the step down to CT. Really strong team you've built here for sure!

Awesome team you've put together for your first season. Saber and Lampaert on the cobbles will be super fun too follow, as well as Saber's sprint exploits. Interested to see if you keep him secluded to CT races, or if you will send him out to as many PCT races as you can like Jakobsen and Zara last year.

Looking forward to see what you add in the draft. If the big guns score as they should then this should be a promotion contender

@Everyone Thank you for the kind words. But calling me a promotion candidate is a bit too much. I might jinx it if I agree. Or make myself the laughing stock! But I do believe it's a decent team to finish hopefully in the top 10!

Extra Update!
We considered to be done with transfers, but a last minute idea threw some dirt in our plans. We were able to secure two more signings, and we are so excited about them.
The first last minute signing is Abolfazl Gilanipoor. The Iranian double NC joins us on a €55,000 wage. Not surprisingly our leader in the mountains he will try to score some well needed points when the fighting gets tough!
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | Wage | | Abolfazl Gilanipoor | 68 | 76 | 70 | 67 | 72 | 69 | 71 | 52 | 55 | 71 | 66 | 72 | 67 | 33 | 5 | 55,000 |
The second signing is Japanese supersprinter Kenji Itami For just €50,000 he will join us as our second sprinter to pick up holes left behind by the lack of racedays for Saber.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | Wage | | Kenji Itami | 73 | 61 | 59 | 61 | 68 | 64 | 73 | 62 | 78 | 79 | 50 | 51 | 61 | 34 | 6 | 50,000 |
But of course, our first draft pick has been confirmed at the time of writing! Richard Laningo Laizer. Will join us as our TT leader! We lacked a man to turn it up against the clock. We couldn't risk losing out on extra points as I feel CT will be very close down to the wire. So the double Tanzanian NC is very welcome in San Marino!

I really like to see the Gilanipoor-pickup. He's fantastic for CT and can still do some nice attacking. He was very cool both at Isostar and also last year at Cedevita, we have a soft spot for him. Itami is also a smart 2nd sprinter, with Laizer I'm not too sure whether he really adds value. All in all some good signings imo.

I love Gilanipoor!! <3
Itami is a very nice pickup also, not sure about Laizer though.
