Nice to see 5 of the 6 USA riders were from McCormick but not the course we would have wanted for them to shine.
But great to see another nice sprint from Rojus, must have been comfortable on US roads after all his time spent at training camps with us.
I think the race played out exactly has folks hoped from the parcours with a sprint but not a pure sprint.

Congratulations on the TT win, Croatia! You expect Phinney to win these TTs, but at least Würtz have made them much more entertaining and open this season. Well done to Phinney to even further strengthen his position as the best in the world.
What a U23 race that was for Assa Abloy, congratulations Sykkel_Freak. Must be exciting to have such a duo for the future, and cool to see them manage to co-operate this well for the win, despite one of them being a great rouleur for this level, and the other one a great sprinter.
Thank you for both reports. You're doing a great job |

As expected, our rider didn't really make an impact today - just not a good profile for them. Would have expected Szarka to do some kind of leadout for Valter, but the latter did very well on his own. And they weren't allowed to ride in the same team anyway
Definitely hoping for a hilly course next year, as that would be Schmid's chance to shine. But yeah, other managers certainly have other interests
Congrats to the Italians; actually a shame we didn't have even a single young Italian this year, but yeah, you can't have 'em all ^^
And thanks for the report - looking forward to the definitive end of the season now

Very fun race to follow. Nice late attack by our Peruvian Ruiz and also nice to see his former teammate and also Peruvian Gonzales in the action after a season on the sidelines. Congratulations to winner Dainese, and also nice to have Siric and Rojus on the podium Great report wj!

Perfect delivery from Italy for Dainese! Had hoped to see some action from Pidcock but I guess he was under strict instruction to help out Hayter in return for the leadership next year - 8th is pretty good for a leadout in that case

Two very nice reports, wj, thank you for that! This was just a lovely pic:
Nice racing as well. I would expect sprinters to prevail in the Elite race, too, looking at how things went so far, but you never know. Nice to get a little Rutsch coverage in there, even if it didn't amount to much for Grosser. Congrats to Dainese and Phinney on the wins!

Phenomenal race and report! The bumpy route didn't suit any of our riders, but it certainly made for a dynamic race.
Well deserved winner in Gaviria, but a win from Caleb Ewan would have been historic surely if the rainbow jersey somehow ended up in CT.
Oh, and SKA goes beast mode again. Every day I wake up, I wish he was on my team. Damn.

Wonderful read. Thanks to all who covered the worlds.
It was a great chance to bring back the Worlds to the Netherlands again after Boom.
Though Groenewegen was always an outsider and unfortunately decided to start the sprint first. Never a good idea. But it was a nice performance nevertheless which unfortunately is not seen in the results then.
The Jacobsen/Groenewegen leadout though is kind of MG unique.
Congrats to Isostar. What a season he is having. |

Great coverage, and a well deserved winner in Gaviria, congrats!
Only downside is that the worlds confirm that it's never good to actually have a leadout - which is why in my nominations I only wanted to send one sprinter per nation... didn't quite work out, c.f. Germany (and no, I didn't nominate Reinhardt)
Our riders were never going to get a good result from a bunch sprint, so Mäder and Moscon did a good job joining the breakaway and getting some airtime. And obviously the guy getting our best result (14th) was the one who never cared about any race during the regular season
Thanks again to all reporters, and to the stage designer - wonderful race to crown a sprinter WC!

Great race, great report. Thanks for the reports wj, and congratulations on the double WC to Croatia. At least that's one WC jersey less that needs to be created

Love Rowe and Dzamastagic teaming up for a late attack - a different day and that's a duo that could have taken it all
Congrats to Croatia, one of the great regular seasons now topped with two World Championships, absolutely unbelievable Thanks to wj and the other reporters for the great coverage!

A double WC for Croatia is ridiculous on top of their already stellar season, congrats
So close for Ewan at the end there - potentially seeing the WC riding around in the CT next season would have been quite something.
Thanks a heap for the reports WJ - that RR report was wonderful.

Thank you for another stellar report!
Congratulations, Croatia! Gaviria has been great this year, and very nice to see him round off his season in style. A very worthy champion, for sure |

Interesting race and a very nice report. Big congrats Croatia for another win. It had Gaviria written all over it though seeing how he has performed.
France tried their best, but had to put in too much effort to set up a proper train, despite the great efforts of Demare. Coquard isn't quite the sprinter to do things by himself though. 10th is still dissapointing though, but it has been like that more often than not this season.

Vesely not there, but at least I can celebrate having a teammate of the winner. Congrats Croatia (not the country).
Thanks to the reporting trio, very cool WC.
