McCarthy taking some bonus seconds is really important for us early in the race, I'd say stage 4 should suit us a little more I'd say and I'd like to say I'm confident we can stay in the front group if any more splits occur, either way this should be a good race for us even if we're absent in these flat stages.

Nice result for Selig after a little disappointment in the first stage.

Bit disappointing to see Castrillo join the break but still lose the KOM, hopefully he can change that around!
Abdul Halil with a very strong finish to get 6th there mixing it up with considerably better riders. Great result from him!
Paez is a long way behind in the GC after time loss on stage 2 so hopefully he’s aggressive in the final stages.

All the big sprinters missing out again. Sprints really are shockingly bad this year.

Congratz Duolingo! Seems like a fun race, I wish my team was here as well Let's hope Maksimov tomorrow makes up for a rather disappointing race so far.
Thanks for another report redordead

Yes! Outstanding result from Borges and the gang. was hoping they could bring our depth in this sort of profiles to good use. Oliveira and McCormick delivered that idea in absolute perfection.
Thanks for another report, red!

Bad sprinting AI made McCarthy going from the second row all the way back to 7th/8th place before starting his sprint so its good to see him recovering to 4th on the stage to add some more crucial stage pts. With Borges and Van Stayen adding bonus seconds however, we move down to 5th overall. Its still a good result for us and its good to see we're starting to get some momentum going.

Despite all of these stages suiting the sprinting of Paez, the AI has clearly decided he’s not in the top 20 or so in terms of pure HIL stat so he’s nowhere to be seen. Bit disappointing but ah well. At least Castrillo is active in the breakaways!

So anyone seen those things where they write a color in another color, like this: BLUE? And your brain gets confused.
That kept happening to me with McCormick in that report. Read the text, glance at the image, wait we aren't on the front???.
Well the McCormick team was pretty anonymous and then Boswell pops up for 5th, which seems to me his favored position. I guess a top 10 GC in a C1 race isn't bad.
Thanks for the reports and congrats to Gus.

After the stage 2 that suited him and he ended up losing time now Chaves finishes on 44 at more than 1 min to the stage winner?
Once more the AI wipes the floor with my team. This is becoming a constant already and it's starting to be extremely tiresome. |

Well I think we've scored 50+, which is not bad I guess, unfortunate time loss for Betancourt on stage 4 really hurt the scoring, but I think it's acceptable for Keizer/Brandle-less race

Ouch, bitter pill to swallow. We knew we wouldn't be a factor in the GC here, but to have 0 top-8 stages with Maksimov and no breakaway appearances at all (except for one try) is a shame. We leave Southland with the same amount of points we came here, zero
Congratulations to GC winner Duolingo and thank you for the entertaining reports to redordead once again!

Was going to write this race off but Vesely shows up on the final stage to at least put some smile on my face.
Hagen a big disappointment though, not even making the top ten.
Congrats Duolingo, thanks redordead!

Paez shocking throughout but Castrillo with an amazing effort getting into the breakaway whenever possible!
A KOM win and 4th in the Points at least means a few points for us

Very disappointing result for Chaves, he even finished outside top 30. So far I have little respect for the AI the way it treats my leaders.
On the bright side, good to see Villalobos winning the 2 categorized climbs on the last stage and getting the 2nd place in the KOM classification. Also, Gabriel Marin with some good results in 2 stages, finishing 5th and 7th.
Thank you for all the excellent reports, redordead! And congratulations to all the winners! |
