Are we even interested in this race?

Not sure what I did to inspire our team, but this has been a wonderful showing. Great tidbit about everyone on our team getting in a breakaway through four stages. Quite impressive. Holding onto the KoM jersey is a nice prize for our efforts so far. Well done team!

Stage 4 was good but before we royally screwed up this race. Hopefully Calmejane can work his magic from breaks now!

Strange that we did so much chasing to set up this bunch sprint. Not a surprise that we didn't do well in the sprint.

Slightly worried Kwiatkowski didn't join the sprint there. Hopefully not a sign of him being one of the GC riders who will struggle with positioning on stage 6 and 8.
Congratulations, Vesuvio! Very excited to see stage 5 now, as with the rather passive racing on the previous hilly stages, together with stage 8 this will decide the race. |

I guess to be expected that Kinoshita would drop off in the sprint a bit. Hopefully we can make the last few stages tougher.

Ulissi probably could have won that stage if he was riding for himself but unselfishly protecting Teklit who takes another step towards a magnificent result!

There’s no way Teklit loses almost 2 minutes over 700m
Great report but not happy to say the least.

Solid enough from Jan, the top-10 still separated by such small margins is a surprise considering EBH just lost 6 minutes. Thanks for the report!

Kwiato! Love to see that, congrats on a great win, ember. Surely a race where a big result is needed for Aker, so happy to see Kwiato delivering under pressure.

I just don't have the words to describe how bad this race is.

I give up on this season...should make a full reset next year.
The team is doomed for whatever reason and always sits in a bad position being behind in most splits.
Can`t see me getting enough points anymore to avoid relegation despite having many race days left for all my leaders. But they miss out on classics, stage points and now also GC points here.
Likely will need to check out some possibilities who to keep in PCT, which at least should be a fun division with the likes of Carboni, Van der Poel etc. maxed
Thanks for the report and congrats to those, that fight for the win here. |

Congrats ember, big victory for you!
I'm very happy about the stage results myself, another 3rd place on the day is fine but muc more important is the gained time on everyone else. Can't see Teklit holding on to 2nd now after losing yellow so we are looking very good on the GC front. Leading points and having really good depth in the GC right now is also very promising. All of that can change quickly though
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Yes! That's a big, big win. Perfect timing from Kwiatkowski, following Formolo's attack, and then also being strong enough to finish it off on the final climb. It surprised me that he was able to hold on and defend it without really loosing any time. That's a very good sign for the final two hilly stages!
Thank you, knockout, roturn and tastasol! This puts us in a great position, but we need to defend it and hold on. Gaps are small looking behind, meaning Kwiatkowski needs to be attentive on stage 6 and 8. Especially the final stage with the final two climbs should create big gaps if it's raced properly. |

Awesome ride by Formolo and the team. We put in another huge effort to control the break and this time we did have a plan. Pretty clever to surprise everyone except for Kwiat by attacking in the downhill.
In the end Kwiatkowski was simply stronger, congrats ember! But I'm very happy with Formolo's second place here and the resulting climb in GC.

Hmm... The chances of us scoring the expected 100-160 points from this race decreases by every stage.
We may end up with 2 riders in the top 20, but none in top 10. And still nothing in terms of stage succes. I can only hope that our riders are now so far behind that they will actually start attacking.

This is an awful performance. Should've brought Roglic instead of Mohoric, but then again that wouldn't have made sense looking at other race selections. Just a shame that we disappoint again at the only home race we have. |

Lutsenko had an extremely disappointing race here last season. That's why when seeing the route was the same this year I decided to avoid this band altogether. Seeing how this race plays out again, I guess this wasn't a bad decision. (However still would've been better to use his race days here than in Dauphine I guess )
Hope top puncheurs who currently are behind in GC can put up some fight in the last stages! |

Can already tell this will be a disappointing race for us. Kinoshita just lacks the sprint to do anything, and PCM 18 usually just leaves the puncheurs to battle out the last climb of the day making him always an underdog for wins.
