Also interesting to see Haussler sprinting to 4th, didn't expect that. Vanmarcke despite crashing and attacking really looks well. But Ballerini is in the shape of his life, what an awesome performance.

I was surprised to see Haussler too. This is the kind of result I would have expected from him 10 years ago.

Would've loved to see him podium. He rode a lot of cyclocross races this winter and I think he might be in top shape earlier then most. Would be nice if he could keep this up though.

Also very sad to see this in "Other races"
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Will make sure Classics Season have a proper thread. Pfft

VdP already on the attack with Jonathan Narvaez from distance, this man is impressive. Yeah sure, he’s riding KBK to lead out Merlier. This guy could even make the Worlds in Doha more interesting!

When did Narvaez become cobbles specialist? Grin

Alaphilippe in the Ronde last year has shown that at least hilly cobbles are apparently not as much of a specialist thing as we'd all expect, particularly when they're allowed to ride in the gutter as well.

Alaphilippe has a cyclocross past though, what he did wasn’t that unexpected.

Damn Hvideberg is really strong.

Friendly reminder that cobbles and flat sprints are Pidcock's worst terrains.

Asgreen’s final push to pursue the breakaway was key for the small peloton. Opened the way for Pedersen’s win. Pfft Denmark FTW!

To be fair Cobbles is surely not his worst terrain, especially not with his CX-background.

He was the best U23 climber by minutes, clearly a great puncheur, and the fourth best U23 ITTer at the EC just for fun.
So yes, he can win Roubaix at U19 and U23 level and I still stand by that statement.

I would argue cyclocrossers just make for great allrounders, not just Wout, Mathieu and Pidcock, but also guys like Alaphilippe, Stybar and Sagan.

I always remember in the old days that Ardennes specialists could often do well and win Flanders until cobbles became a more specialized thing. Over the years Valverde and Nibali have had their moments on the cobbles but Alaphilippe is easily imo the most likely to win a cobble classic of the three riders. Who knows what would've happened last season had he not crashed, even though I doubt he would've outsprinted MVP and WVA.

Entertaining first Italian race of the season over at Trofeo Laigueglia. Mollema with a Lombardy-esque victory ahead of Bernal and Vansevenant (!!!). Champoussin also very well in 4th (good season start).

df_Trek
Mollema like good wine, getting older and winning more and more

Wilier
Van der Poel wins Strade Bianche in front of Alaphilippe and Bernal.Shock

Monster attacks. What a beast. <3

Also major result from Google Maps, ride of his life.

Indeed, darn Google Maps, I was really close to selecting him in my Velogames team but ultimately decided against it.

Mathieu dropping Alaphillipe was just wow. Ok, maybe Ala isn't in top shape yet, but still, impressive.

I wonder how UAE Tour would have looked like if Van der Poel and Alpecin didn't withdraw after the 1st stage.
