Our biggest month so far (out of 2). Big races and we were hoping to continue our great momentum this month. Lets see how we did!
Gent Wevelgem
We were so close yet so far! Sascha Weber was incredible! Made it through the cobbles and to the final sprint for the win. He had a nice lead going into 1km to go but just couldn't stay ahead of Oliver Naesen who took the win just ahead of our man Weber. A great first opportunity in the cobbles for Weber and we are so very excited to see if he can improve 1 position on his 2nd place in his next cobbles race!
Hong Kong Challenge
The Hong Kong Challenge was another race we didn't send the right team too. Its hard when a team only has 1 hill leader who needs a rest every now and then. We sent Schultz as our leader. He thought it was best to get in the attack on Day 1 and he did well getting points and showing off our jersey. He finished 59th on the day quite far back is 3rd in the mountains jersey classification. This is important as he would go on to win this classification and save our race with at least bringing home some silverware. We are very proud of Nick's effort over the 3 day race and look forward to seeing him in action throughout the season!
Colombo Classic
In this Sri Lankan race we were really aiming for a top 5. However, this race was ruined by a successful breakaway and Edmondson had to settle 7th place and 2nd out of the favourites. Overall a good race just the breakaway was too strong and the catch was attempted to be made far too late.
Tour of Southland
Our home race was kind of a disappointment. We didn't send the right team to succeed here and only really featured on day 1. That is pictured above and was a very close sprint with Wippert eventually finishing in 7th. He was also our top overall rider in 40th over 3 minutes down. Not exactly the race we were hoping for but we can't win them all.
Trofeo Laigueglia
This was an important one! We had a top 5 goal here and really believed Edmondson could achieve it! He has been incredible this season so far! He started off great! Following moves and finding himself in a great position to achieve the top 5 goal. In the end he did even better and found himself climbing up the podium in the 3rd place! A fantastic race from the Brit in a race we really needed him to show us what he had!
Well a fantastic start to the season continues as we continue our form. We head into a 1 race month in March which will be a good rest for some riders as April is a huge month. We will be posting our previews and overviews more regularly and we apologise for the delay on this one. Keep your eyes peeled for that!
Stay tuned for more!Edited by Jakstar22 on 01-08-2021 09:18
March only contains the mountain stage race in Eritrea. We are giving most of our leaders the month off so you won't be seeing Garby, Edmondson or Wippert here this time. Schultz will have his chance to lead the team over a 6 day stage race and Altanzul will get to show us if he has what it takes to continue his amazing form from last season. This will be very interesting this race and we are hoping for a long shot and a top 10 from Schultz. We will see. Start list is below.

A very quiet month but it will be interesting to see how it goes. We are excited to see this underdog team in action and very excited to see what Schultz can do for us!

This 6 day stage race was one we didn't have pegged to be as successful as it was. We had sent by far not our strongest team. Nicholas Schultz was sent to lead the team and he really led him the best he could. He stayed with the lead pack in the first mountain stage, continued his great ride into the next day over the hills and on the final day of the race, finished in 8th place and finished 12th overall, only missing the top 10 by less than 10 seconds. An incredible showing from our up and coming Aussie climber who continues to show us why he is going to be the leader of this team in years to come!!

In the CT rankings we continue to hold a high position staying as high as 11th. We have one of the lowest amount of race days spent as well which means we still have plenty of race days to get the points to get us into the top 10 and potentially top 5. A still fantastic start to the season. In the individual rankings, Joshua Edmondson continues to be consistent and is currently sitting in 6th place on 138 points. Less than 80 points behind Wilco Kelderman who currently leads the standings. Amazing start from the team and we cannot wait to begin the month of April!!
The form continues over the first 3 months of the season! We move into April next which is the month of one day races. We are very excited to see how the whole team goes and hope we can claim as many points as possible from these one day classics!

Another season has passed. With National Championships well over and World Championships coming up, we thought it was time to update everyone on the development of some of our youth riders. We also want to congratulate Joshua Edmondson on a fantastic British RR victory and also Sono Delgerbayar on becoming the double Mongolian national champion. Fantastic riders from both. Now onto the Talent Development.
Samuele Menicucci 23 Years Old - New XP : 2.0 - Potential : 3 - Upgrade : Classics
A young San Marino classics rider who joined our team at the beginning of the season. He has worked hard on loan at McCormick Pro Cycling (shoutout to Ulrich Ulriksen for taking him). We have focused on classics training with him for his first development upgrade and we after a few more seasons he will be a fantastic helper in the classics and domestique for the team.

Munkhtulga Erdenesuren 28 Years Old - New XP : 4.0 - Potential : 4 - Upgrade : Cobbles
Not a young rider but still plenty of potential for Munk. He trains hard on the cobblestones and that has shown in this upgrade. He has pushed his limits and while he is still quite far off being a competitive cobbler, he has just become an incredible and stronger domestique for Weber and our cobbles team!

Bilguunjargal Erdenebat 23 Years Old - New XP : 4.0 - Potential : 5 - Upgrade : Time Trial
Our young Mongolian star has just become even more of a star! Now competitive at the top of the CT in the time trial discipline we cannot wait to see what he can do for us! We will obviously attempt to get him out on loan in the PT in order to MAX his upgrades however if that is not possible we will be happy to hold on to him. We cannot wait to see this young man out on the road!!

Well thats the youth core of the team. A strong side and some huge upgrades. We can't wait to get our next season started with this lot and hopefully (HOPEFULLY) finally promote to the PCT. Thanks everyone for continually following us and we can't wait to get into season number 7!Edited by Jakstar22 on 01-08-2021 09:24
Change in sponsors is a normal thing and we have been a team with constant change. Bank of New Zealand has been with us for many seasons and after our best season to date has decided to stick with us for another. We also have new Australian company Superhero Share Trading joining us as a title sponsor as well. This means the team is now known as BNZ - Superhero Racing Team.
As for the other sponsors, BMC sticks with us as well as POC sports, Tineli and Island Records. Coming on board we have a couple of new (one past) sponsors who well help confirm our focus areas. Please welcome Air New Zealand to the team for the first time and welcome back to Golomt Bank who rejoin us after a few seasons and help confirm our focus on the Mongolian youth.
Now without further ado, please join me in thanking hillis91 for this incredible jersey and now, here it is!!!
Spoiler
Thankyou again to hillis91 and we cannot wait to see this incredible jersey in the CT next season!!!
