I started watching the broadcast with about 35km to go and I think Evenopoel has pulled 100% of the time and the other riders just dropped from his wheel |

Not only that, he made up about 2 minutes or so all on his own after a crash right when the race exploded.

Great descending skills made the difference here, nice win for Hirschi!

Hirschi was very clever. Switzerland have got a promising line of riders for the future, here.
Hänninen's mostly a cyclo-cross rider who races on a French amateur team. He's had some interesting results, most notably last week after beating Rein Taaramae on a classic stage in South France. But nothing that suggested he'd be this good among on the World Championships, as he doesn't focus prominently on road. Perhaps a door has opened for him now. |

Anna van der Breggen with the kind of performance you only see once in a generation. She was completely unmatchable, unbeatable and incredible. A Dutch win is not a surprise, but no-one saw a win of that level at all. Completely and utterly deserved in every single way possible.
Spratt a terrific second place, she rode as well as you could have thought and probably as perfectly as she could have managed. Second is no bad result at all for her, or in this race.
Guderzo, wow! I thought she could get into the Top10-15 but did not see a podium coming. She took the initiative behind when others could not muster the effort. Properly deserved Bronze for the former champion.
Fahlin did extremely well to keep up with better climbers and take 4th. Jasinska 5th a top result for her, she is an underrated rider and did very well. Canuel will be happy as well with 6th, a good result for her.
Fantastic race! Guarantee we won't see the men attacking so hard with three laps to go.

Sagan out with 90 kms to go. Was kinda obvious he wouldn't be fighting for the medals this year, but honestly, way earlier than expected he got dropped

Kwiatek, Martin, S. Yates, Zakarin and Poels all out the back with 45km to go!
