A hard fought race, with a good outcome for WCC. Berhane was tipped as a 2-star favourite in the press, and he duly delivered with 4th. Hard to argue against the presence of the 3 in front without a super over-performance + form day. The racing seemed suitably arduous on this new parcours which has delivered an exciting denouement on the final climb. Ji 'failed' to deliver on his 1-star outsider ranking from this morning's press, but we can understand that his efforts to support Berhane will have impacted his individual performance. Still a feeling of some points lost from him considering he was still attendance in group 2 when the race had been whittled down to 10 or less, to then finish 13th. He indicated in the team bus after the race that he felt like he 'hit the wall' in the last 5km or so (Sta = 73). Nonetheless, Berhane and Ji combine to produce WCC's first race of the season where we surpass our pre-season race-by-race points prediction total to in part put us back on track, and with a decent launch pad now into the intensive February racing period!
A really nice report from you for this one Roturn, and good selection of images, each one of which I studied in detail in order to savour/stretch-out the report, so thanks! Congrats to Philips on the victory, and in fact all of the podium finishers after a great race.
NOTE: The position on jerseys for these early season races is understood. Could I please request though that when any update to the DB/settings is applied that WCC's full team-name be corrected, we are World Cycling Centre. Been incorrect in all 4 race results sections where we have participated thus far. Cheers!

A request Croatia isn't here to make but I know he would like to: If the WCCre change above can get done, can Isostar's name be fixed to Isostar Slovenija please

Congrats Abhishek, beating Henao was always going to be difficult.
Good race for my team. Last race in the old jersey. Denifl in 2nd is the expected result. Some very weird team tactics, though. I was pleased when seeing Chhetri and the break, not so much when Denifl lead the chase on him.
Thanks for the report roturn! |

Hoped for better from Carthy but still a decent result. Hope he enjoyed his one race as leader, seeing as he won't be getting maxed this season so will have to wait 2 years for his next one |

First, thanks for the very nice report roturn, a really well told race in Equatorial Guinea.
Congrats Abhi on the win, Henao had this wrapped up early on.
Pleased with Valls/Penasa working together once again, and with the top 10 result. As mentioned, we were shooting for a top 5 with this startlist, so slightly disappointing, but only very slightly. We’ll keep taking results like this all year long.

Yes I've noticed that Kiserlovski is also with standard NC jersey, but the funny thing he shouldnt be wearing it as he is TT NC It's no issue really, DB error possible of course.
Congratz Abhi and thanks for the report Roturn! I must say I' very pleased with Kiserlovski a massive performance that earns him plenty of points and is very motivating to say the least. And means that he can score decently in some C1 races if we're lucky with the startlist.

Had hoped for more, but this was more or less expected. Good to see Kononenko in the break though, hope to see my riders more often than previous seasons...

Very nice from Choi. These are the kind of results I expected from him. Nothing too amazing, a win would be quite an "overperformance" but hopefully consistently Top5ing can be possible.
