Thanks
I'm considering hl/mo but neither can go above 76 and the other wouldn't be too high in either case, so likely not worth it, at least not above 82 flat

Should become an very interesting breakaway rider aswell. Hard to catch an 82 Flat rider, and he got a ok push at the end with sprint/acc

Didn't actually think about that, but you're right, if anybody is going to hold off a peloton, it's him and that sprint stat is always useful in breaks.

Unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to Deins Kanepejs, as heads to team Team Popo4Ever p/b Nemiroff, we wish him all the best in his cycling career, in return for Deins however, we brought in some experience:
Ignas Konovalovas| Age: 33 | OVL: 73.38 | Puncheur | Wage: €60,000
An older rider in his last few seasons before retirement, however that means that Ignas has experience as well as a lot of strength, he's particularly valuable to flesh out our hills squad but also will bolster our TTT team, which is often lacking compared to our competitors in major target races. With two hills leaders in Kwiatkowski and Dyrnes, we hope this edition means neither rider will ever feel undersupported throughout the season. Not to mention, he's the Lithuanian National Champion!

And our final signing of the season is made as we most likely finish off our transfer season!
Milan Menten| Age: 23 | OVL: 69.50 | Classics Specialist Wage: €50,000 | Level: 1.00 | Pot: 4
Milan Menten joins us late in the transfer season, we were surprised to see that he hadn't received a contract yet as a rider with a lot of potential in the classics as he is an awesome punchuer in addition to being good on the cobbles which is a deadly combination. Unfortunately, He doesn't quite fit with the team nationality, so we'll have to see how he gels with the guys and decide whether he will continue to develop with Netia or if he'll race with another team, but we've chosen to give him a chance in the pro peloton! Below we have presented too he may pursue.

Yeah, should be Just decided to post the other as well after I felt bad for not posting the climbing option for Cherkasov.

Once you get him out of level 1 (or even better, level 2 as well), Menten surely becomes exponentially more interesting for us. I'll keep your phrasing in mind!

Would certainly be an awesome domestique for us but being from outside our focus regions means he wouldn't be a focus for training those awesome stats or really a rider with a lot of sentimental value, so if there's a nice offer...

2nd option for sure. It makes him into a very nice rider many teams in all divisions will chase in the future
Edit: sorry made a mistake. The cobbles option is much better

@Knockout: Yeah, the 2nd option is more suitable for many more teams, but the 1st option is more niche and more interesting for training, so the stronger option really depends on the team imo.
And our 2018 squad is ready! We've brought in some solid additions to add to our unfortunate performance last year and also some more talent to create some excitement, presenting Netia - Vónin 2018!
Adam Stachowiak | Pawel Franczak | Kristian Sobota | Przemyslaw Kasperkiewicz | Matteo Rabottini | Maximme Vantomme | Pawel Bernas | Adrian Honkisz | Mortern Reckweg | Torkil Veyhe* | Gunnar Dahl-Olsen | Jóanis Albert Nielsen | Iliyan Kolev | Michał Kwiatkowski | Mads Pedersen* | Szymon Rekita | Lasse Norman Hansen | Kamil Malecki | Kristian Dyrnes | Nicolay Cherkasov | Ignas Konovalovas | Milan Menten |
*Loaned Out
Loaned Out
To kick off our team presentation, a few statistics from us:
Average Age: | 26.7 | Highest Average Stat: | Flat & Acceleration (72) | Lowest Average Stat: | Mountain (62.5) | Nationalities: | 9 | Most Netia Wins: | Maxime Vantomme | Star Rider: | Michal Kwiatkowski | Oldest Rider: | Ignas Konovalovas (33) | Youngest Rider: | Milan Menten (22) | Longest-Serving: | Adam Stachowiak | | Pawel Franczak | | Kristian Sobota |
As per usual, our squad is split into 3 rough teams: Hills, flats and talents. Though now some talents are beginning to fit into our other teams and Kaspa already is coming into his own as a cobbles rider!
Our primary focus is hills, Michal Kwiatkowski is our #1 star and will focus mostly on hilly tours that mix mountains in, while new signing Kristian Dyrnes will lead us in the more pure hilly races, while he isn't quite amongst the best, he'll be an interesting option for any race.
While those 2 will rarely race together, they will both share the same supporting cast. Veterans Matteo Rabottotini, Adrian Honkisz and Ignas Konovalovas will be the right hand men for our two captains, while Adam Stachowiak should provide strong support and Pawel Bernas will be absolutely essential to both on the flatter profiles, having the power to keep them safe near the front of the pack. Przemyslaw Kasperkiewicz, Milan Menten, Nicolay Cherkasov and Kamil Malecki will sub in the provide support and get some experience riding on different terrain.
The success of our team is highly reliant on this squad, so we hope they can achieve their best!
On the flats our two leaders should be less separated, Maxime Vantomme is our longest serving designated team leader and he will lead us once again on flat terrain. Two of our 2015 heroes - Kristian Sobota and Pawel Franczak will once again be his right hand men for the lead-outs.
These three sprinters will be supported by our cast of roleurs, the star amongst these is Lasse Norman Hansen, who will often get chances to lead in his own right, not only in prologues, but also on flat stages and classics were he should have the power to surprise.
Torkil Veyhe will race in the Pro Tour with T-Mobile this season but our remaining flat support should be a huge boon for Vantomme and Hansen, Pawel Bernas, Morten Reckweg and Nicolay Cherkasov will add a lot of power to our team, particularly in enabling the sprinting squad to have the best positioning coming in the sprints as well as just generally providing strong protection.
The third half of our squad - talents! These riders are the leaders of the future and super exciting for our squad. Already this season, Przemyslaw Kasperkiewicz will get the opportunity to lead the team in cobbled classics, though we aren't sure he'll achieve big results quite yet.
The rest of our squad won't search for good results but rather be domestiques as they look for experience. Nicolay Cherkasov will be a great roleur to support our leaders, while Milan Menten and Kamil Malecki will provide light cobbles and hills support when required, though mostly carrying bottles. Iliyan Kolev and Jóanis Albert Nielsen will fill a similar role, though they will be a domestique on the flats more often than the hills, while finally Szymon Rekita will mostly be useful in our TTT squads, though all these riders will try out all terrains - we'll even teach these guys to suffer in the mountains!
Otherwise our two loan-outs, Mads Pedersen will ride as a strong support rider for Nordstrom and Torkil Veyhe will be an essential roleur for T-Mobile.
Here is a projection of their future abilities, though we have to remember that we are still yet to discuss their future as they have not arrived in Warsaw yet, particularly Nicolay Cherkasov and Milan Menten, though this should be a nice preview!

That's some heavy cobbled depth in the future. Stunning.
Though with mainly Pedersen a lot of wage is used up and hence your team should struggle quite a bit I think with scoring on three riders mainly. |

As roturn says, that future cobble squad is something I’m very jealous of! And another Polish leader, no less
Not to mention Rekita...
However, this season looks like it’ll be a bit of a slog - hope Kwaitek manages to score heavily in those races you send him to, like early last season. I think you may have just about enough to stay up, but you’ll be on the edge of your seat most of the season
Best of luck!

@Roturn - Thanks! Our future cobbled depth has been a project for a while, so it's exciting to see it slowly come closer to fruition.
Fortunately we're only paying 200k on Pedersen's wage, but still he's going to be a drain on our budget for a while yet. I think we've taken a couple steps forward though, with Dyrnes and LNH added, so it'd be disappointing for that to end in relegation, though it's a very real possibility.
@Booker - Thanks as well, having future Polish leaders like Kaspa & Rekita means a lot to us!
And thanks for your belief in us surviving relegation. Sicard is gone from the PCT at least so maybe that means more chances for Kwiat? As well as having 1/2 new pointsscorers, will stll be touch and go as you said.

The national championships are a huge deal at Netia and this is particularly due to the fact that we almost never win them, so for the first time ever we have 2 national champions! Granted, one was because we had all the riders in the race and the other was because we traded him in, but it's still wonderful that we can present to beautiful jerseys, designed by none other than krisa of Rapha!
Gunnar Dahl-Olsen has triumphed in both the Faroese National Road Race and Time Trial, while Ignas Konovalovas' has won the Lithuanian Road Championship, we present their respective kits to you:
We hope both of them can do their respective countries proud!

That future cobbles team is awesome! Very important year for in terms of survival, but you should manage it, with Kwiato as main contributor.
Very nice NCs too!

Impressive talents... Also interesting to see how different we max them out. Obviously with a huge focus on flat and cobbles some of these riders will be beasts for you, but I would have never developped riders like Cherkasov and Menten like that - Also because it will make your team very one-dimensional, while you actually picked up talents that can give you a very versatile team
Will be looking forward to see what the end result is.

@Dev - Thanks! Yeah, this should (hopefully at least ) be the last season where we really need to suffer for our talents, Kwiat will need to pull through again.
@SotD - Thanks, a lot of them aren't really confirmed yet as I like to take a while considering them and these are more the first impressions, particularly Cherkasov could go the climbing route (though we do love flats a cobbles ) and Menten I think makes a more unique rider with cobbles and hills like that, though he as well is not yet decided.
You do make a very good point about versatility, we are looking very one-dimensional at the moment, so maybe I have to think about my planning a bit to make sure that doesn't happen.

Really, really hope Dyrnes can do well for you. His 2016 season was amazing, while his 2017 was poor and very anonymous. Fingers crossed he's closer to his 2016 than his 2017 with you!
If Dyrnes does decent, you should be safe avoiding relegation, I think. To be honest, you really should stay well away from the relegation danger. Kwiatkowski is pure class, and Vantomme is also a proven points scorer. For the hills you also got some serious depth, that should see you do well overall there. |
