Very similar goals as my team, just focusing on mountains
That, and also the Japanese focus of our teams should make us clash a lot not only this season. Good luck for the season, and already waiting to see which leaders you got

Directeur Sportif Imelda Chiappa:
After the first few signings of free riders, we started talks with the team management of PT team Ayubowan!, the situation was that their 28 old Sri Lankan rider Asela Sisira would like to ride a season in CT, aiming for some success hard to get in PT races.
We would never disclose the confidential details in the deal made, but Asela Sisira will ride the 2017 season in a red Campari Super Dry jersey.

Directeur Sportif Imelda Chiappa:
Our next negotiations was what would become our team leader and best climber, 32 old Italian Dario Cataldo, had all we very looking for. First of all we could not sign a leader not Italian or Japanese, and Cataldo had also some possibilities to perform on the hills making him a good all-round rider, even though his TT is not impressive. The only disadvantage is that he is at the end of his career, and has to be replaced or supplemented next season.
There was some interest from Philips–Continental, but we got him in the end.
In 2016 Cataldo was riding for PCT team Vontobel sadly no longer part of MGUCI. With them he won the Tour of Japan for the team in 2015 and a stage in Vuelta al Tachira in 2016. I 2014 he was leading Magna – Ryanair, winning a stage in Volta a Portugal. In 2011 he won a stage in Giro d'Italia at the time with Wiggle - San Pellegrino.

Directeur Sportif Imelda Chiappa:
After Cataldo we were looking for younger domestic riders.
First we signed 24 years old Italian talent Petilli Simone, in 2016 he was riding for PT team Bouygues, but with the dissolution of the team at the end of the season, he became a free rider.

Cataldo is a fantastic addition. Well rounded rider for a nice wage. Now you got with Bratashcuk, Verbist and Cataldo three great leaders for different terrains. Just the occassional sprint stage may be a bit of a filler but maybe you can still fix that. Plus, having one speciality missing doesn't hurt that much in CT and PCt, I can vouch for that. I predict a nice season for you.

Well done on getting Cataldo in as your leader. You know we were very interested in him but he went out of reach. Sisira is another we had been eyeing and he should do well for you. Looking forward to our battles on the road

General Manager/Team Owner Mr. Katsuta:
While Imelda Chiappa still was working hard with negations attempting to secure riders from the open market, I was having a meeting with representatives from fellow Italian team Generali – EDF, in a nice restaurant not far from Assicurazioni Generali Group HQ in Trieste north eastern Italy.
This was about to become a multi riders deal, we can’t of course reveal every detail in the agreement made, but it ended with these riders riding the 2017 season on the Campari – Super dry team.
Thomas Boudat (23 years old)
Boudat is a Generali talent from France, he was signed to the team as stagiare in 2016, he will ride on a load deal.

Wages (paid) 25.000
Campari – Super acquired veteran Italian sprinter Manuel Belletti (32 years old)
Belletti came to Generali in 2015, before than he was with Magna – Ryanair. Now he might spend his last years in pro cycling at Campari – Super dry.

Wages 50.000
Edoardo Girardi Italian climber (32 years old)
Girardi also came to Generali in 2015, before that he was with Kazzinc Procycling, where he was contracted in 2012 (at the time as Ferrari – ERG), in 2013 on loan to UBS-BMC.
Before that he was with Intesa 2011, AON Global 2010, a rider who has been around quite a bit.

These acquisition is of course shot lived duo to the age of the riders, but we hope it will put some good depth into our squad this season, at a low wage cost.

Directeur Sportif Imelda Chiappa:
While Katsuta-san was in Trieste, I met with Italian sprinter Oscar Gatto in Campari Headquaters in Milano, signing a 1 year contract. The Italian sprinter will be leading out team on most of the flat stages in 2017, he does not have the acceleration we have in Belletti, but he has some nice punch making him able to also compete if the terrain is semi hilly.
Just like our Mountain leader Cataldo, Gatto was thrown into the open transfer marked due to the unfortunate collapse of Zürich based PCT team Vontobel after the 2016 season. Gatto had two seasons with Vontobel, before that he was with Kappa – ENI in 2014, Vespa - Aprilia Racing 2011-2013

Really like that Gatto signing, he'll be very useful in the stages going over hilly terrain first. I know my leadout train will struggle to get over those hills, and I'd imagine others will be the same. Well done putting together this team so far, looking forward to the finished product

General Manager/Team Owner Mr. Katsuta:
Having signed most of the important riders and just needing the fine tuning of the team, I suddenly was contacted by Kraftwerk Man Machine, offering a Japanese Rider.
Everyone in the management group said no, we did not have the surplus budget for this, but this was an offer I could not refuse. 25 years old Sota Ikibe was not just our option to get another young Japanese rider he was also a useful one, so I had to change our plans a little and signed the deal. Asahi was thrilled !
Before his time at Kraftwerk, Ikibe was with Actavis – DKSH.

Directeur Sportif Imelda Chiappa:
My scouting the Far East market for Japanese rider, I came in contact with 22 years old Korean talent Ha Jeon Jung, last year he was with now dissolved Hankook - Ping An Bank. He will get another chance to evolve on Campari - Super Dry.

Basically at the same time we was negotiating to make a deal with 29 years old Ethiopian Estifanos Kebede, we were looking for a lieutenant able to support both Catalodo in the mountains and Bratashcuk on the hilly terrain, Kebede was the right man for the job.
In 2016 Kebedes was with PT team Kenya Airways - Dimension Data, but as the team collapsed after the 2016 season facing relegation the Ethiopian was without a team. Kebede came to Kenya Airways in 2015 from Repsol-Cativen.
There was some other teams interested and we had to make a probably too aggressive bid to close the deal, due to outside pressure to end transfers fast, but we got what we wanted.
