Hmm, ok.
What do you think of the idea to enable that option, danny?
I think it would be nice for two reasons:
1) It's fun to fully build your own squad from scratch.
2) Striving to become the best team is fun, but with a super unequal start it's quite meaningless. Even despite the 250m budget, I don't see how guys picking teams like Shinnik or Ironi could ever hope to come close to guys picking teams like Barcelona or Liverpool.
Or am I missing some aspect of the game?

Yeah, but online it's more tactics-based.

That option is only available if you pay money. I have set transfer restrictions to the bigger teams to give everyone a fair chance, however I know that teams like Barcelona still have a an absurd advantage.

I'd be up for starting with clean squads if possible. Maybe someone else taking part has already paid for premium membership (or whatever you need for that option to be available) and they could create the game? |

Anyone could have picked Barcelona or another top level team, it was always clear we would start with 2016 rosters. Not my fault people can't read

I have one of the lowest teams in Division 1 and I'd encourage 2016 rosters.
Why not embrace the challenge?

No one is blaming you, we're just discussing how we can make the game as much fun as possible to keep people interested.
I think it's very important to give everyone a fair shot at being competitive. Otherwise the game will slowly become a ghost town with only the successful players left. Trust me; I've seen it happen many times.
What is the price to enable that option, danny?

I don't get why we've gone from "This is great idea, let's go!" to "It's unfair i picked a sh*t team and won't win the league"
You could have picked any one of a numerous teams from Real to Atletico to Bayern to Chelsea to Man City to Inter to AC to Juve to PSG etc etc ec and been competitive. But you pick some teams i've never heard of
You = Anyone, not someone specific

Fair enough, but I suspect that:
1) Some people might not have realized that human-controlled teams start with their own players. Take this sentence on the opening post for example:
You are free to pick your team, as I will enable high transfer budgets for all clubs, so fight for the best players in the game will be for that person who sacrifice the most!
My first impression after reading that was that we would be able to build our teams from scratch.
2) Some people who did think/know human teams would start with their own players might not have known that there is an option available to start clean and balanced.
So I think it's still an interesting point to discuss a bit and hear people's opinions on.

I assume you can edit each teams budget based on team strength so teams like Barca can start in debt and Ironi and I can have many hundreds of millions, that way, we can somewhat even team strength so we have a more 'fair' game
(better to screw the pussies who chose big teams than the bold pioneers who chose to have a challenge )

If that is possible, it would also be a nice solution.
I'll just pick a team that I like and that is also strong, so I'm happy with it whatever we decide to do.
Team: Borussia Dortmund
Division 1 or 2: 1

I'll also say if you can't turn £250mil into a good team in SM then you sir are a goddamn retard. Let's just go as the rules were and everyone signed up under.
The "super teams" can just self moderate and limit themselves very easily.

Consdering the best teams are limited to under 23's in the first window means that the weaker squads can claim the better players who are at clubs not chosen and there's bound to be plenty of goo players still out there that we can get to help us catch up.
And 250mil is quite a lot on SM which means we should at least be able to get a competitive first team together and probably a bench aswell even if there are a few holes in the general squad or a couple of areas that could be stronger you will at least be able to build a strong base to push on from.

Ok, sounds good mate. Let's give it a shot with these rules then.
I didn't know that 250 million is a huge amount in this game. I guessed a team like Real or Barca would start with a net worth around 700 million, which their squad is worth in real life. But apparently market values are lower in SM.
Which teams are limited in the first window?

Right now it's Liverpool, Tottenham, Barca and Dortmund. These teams are limited to buying players under 23 ( that is age 23 included) and selling players in the first transfer window.
