Two ways today will go. A huge amount of Frenchmen get up the road and the peloton lets them have the stage, or the alternative and the most likely to happen. Sky sets fast pace up climb, shreds the field down to only the top 10 general classification riders.
Think we will see a group of 10 come to the finish, due to the reduction on gradient on the climb with 5 ks to go. |

Boom clearly wasn't right before the race so Astana starting him was a mistake anyway.
Its a pity that this is the Bastille Day stage, I love how the French riders and teams go crazy on this day at Le Tour but this year the best chance they have is from a breakaway which will be almost impossible on todays stage. With any luck the big kids mark themselves and someone like Bardet can kick away and win. I still think Froome will try assert his authority today and try and put his main rivals to bed, they way he was talking in yesterdays rest day himself and Sky and talking a big game which again says to me they will go for it today.

Astana seems to be short of riders. I was surprised when they named Kangert into tour he's week knees can not take 2 GT's row. Beside he was 13th. at Giro..meaning ..lot of work there. |

Still surprised they didn't bring Lutsenko as Gruzdev looked spent as well during the TTT makes you read Kessiakoffs arguments about how Astana handle his injury and wonder |

I hope for a French victory today. Ether big break with Voeckler and Rolland or a early attack on the La Pierre Saint-Martin from Bardet if the Sky mountain time trail team having a week day. |

Break is formed.
Fedrigo riding alone in front with Vanbilsen following at 45 secs. Peloton at over 4 minutes.

The doctor didn't say exactly who. Scarponi and Boom obviously. Nibali they say is fine.

Really hope Nibali recovers as he could still be a deciding factor in this tour, I doubt we'll see much from him today but please no great time lost either! |

True, no hope of a breakaway win today but will be the centre of tv coverage |
