It's sunday and De Ronde is once a year. I'll watch the whole damn thing of course.
Already looking forward to the masses of fans on the sidelines. So stoked for RvV!
The only thing I'm pissed off about is the 'expected sun' and hell no Cancellara to put the other riders to the sword.
Sun is alright, it'll draw in more crowds and De Ronde is much more an event than Paris-Roubaix. I hope the clouds save their water for the next sunday when the Hell of the North is up.
Whaaat? Roubaix is clearly better in sunshine and 20-25 degrees! I absolutely love the clouds of dust, looks so epic. |

I don't think Kristoff will win; too many people will be scared of his sprint for it to end in a small group finish, and I don't believe he would be able to make it to the finish solo, but I'd be happy to be proved wrong there.
My money's on Stybar, although I'm very scared of Thomas; really it's just such an unpredictable race without at least one of Cancellara and Boonen that it's extremely difficult to call - there are about 10 people whom I wouldn't bat an eyelid upon winning the race. Should be very exciting!

Rewatched last hour of last year's stage. Kristoff is very, very dangerous. He's in even better form than last year where he ended 4th or 5th just behind the first guys. My money is on him. |

Hoping: Thomas
Expecting: Etixx to bounce back and win the big one. Or Etixx leading out Kristoff for the win
Fearing: Forum children throwing their dummies out of the pram if Thomas wins.

Hoping: Thomas to win a big one and live up to his potential (or Stannard. like them both)
Expecting: the Ettix Sky-like domination until the last 500 m when Vanmarcke or Kristoff wins.
Fearing: a boring race with a sprint finish or an Ettix attack too early leaving the end too dull

Hoping: as good a race as Wevelgem. Outcome matters little then
Expecting: A closed race until 25 - 30 kilometers to go. Hope not, though.
Fearing: A closed race until 15 kilometers from the finish |

Don't know whether it has been mentioned already but Geraint Thomas has been installed as the race favourite

Comparing Geraint Thomas to David Beckham? That's a comparison I would never have drawn

We didn't have a rainy Paris-Roubaix for over a decade now, it's high time the rain puts the hell back in hell of the north.

@Rijs, yes Paris-Roubaix is also great when its sunny and the dust clouds fly everywhere and provides a fantastic overall shot.
But even today the best Paris-Roubaix I've seen was 1994 when there was mud everywhere from the rains, truly epic stuff.
I've noticed a few people have picked Kristoff as a fav for Tour of Flanders tomorrow but I'd be surprised if he'll do it, as mentioned above already nobody will want to carry him to the line, unless he gets into a two man break with Mr. Vandenbergh.
The only way I can see him doing it, is if he either gets into a winning break with a teammate and if the teammate does a lot of the work, the other riders may help out a bit BUT I think if he wants to win he'll need to go solo from a way out.

I hope for Å tyby, but Kristoff and Thomas are too damn strong this year.
Die hard fan of Tom Boonen and Quickstep since 2004.

Well Kristoff did run out of steam at the Milan-San Remo, but that was Paolini's fault I guess for pulling off too early. |
