No man Roturn, I know you're actually super excited to be racing with the Africans in PCT.

Well, I find PCT interesting, exciting and should have my best ever PCT squad now with my talents starting to max out. With the additional race planning in PCT and my experience in this section so far, I hope to find the best suitable races for my leaders and still get some chances to let my talents lead (in especially Krieger and Olivier obviously).
Not sure though if I will ride many African races. All depends on profiles I guess. |

Wow! Two of the best established USA based teams have folded. My first year in the ManGame Dave was a mentor for me and I will miss him.
Looks like the PCT will be stronger than ever in 2015. With so many disbanding teams this transfer season is setting up to be EPIC.
I cannot wait now.

Awesome to see Avin and Jph promote really happy about that though surprised Gazelle declined promotion really love to here what DD has to say about that.
Here are some of the arguments that together caused me to make this decision:
- I really like PCT and think it is more fun than PT, because there's more strategy and specialization involved.
- My goal is to earn promotion by winning it or at least finishing top 3.
- Gazelle isn't about nationality, but about hills, cobblestones and breakaways. In PT you can't do that. I don't want to destroy the identity of the team after just two seasons.
- I think Gazelle currently lacks the foundation to be PT-worthy. I need more time to diversify the team and bring in some young leaders, who will be our backbone in the future.
- The team has many youngsters who would benefit from another year in PCT.
- I knew my place would be taken by either La Vie, Meiji or Metinvest and those are all seasoned managers who would be a great addition to PT.
Congrats to all who promoted! Looking forward to another thrilling season.

Makes total sense DD, an admirable decision supported by the logic presented.

Well, I have to disagree. Teams like Good Energy and Pokerstars finished in the top 5 even without any great climbers or even without no climbers at all. If you would make a superb team around hills and cobbles, I believe you could have a really successful team with your team strategy even in PT as well.

That sounds like some good reasoning and i will be last to complain about your decision.
I ill follow Gazelle as one of the favourites for PCT top5 then.

I have a huge amount of respect for that decision DD. I am looking forward to having a nice chat during the off season yet again, and hope you will promote in style next season. I think you will, BTW.

It's a difficult one. It should be the absolute ambition of any team to wish to promote to the big leagues. Certainly you could argue that sponsors/riders would be less than impressed by a decision to stay in the Continental ranks and thus deny them a chance to ride in the 'bigger' races.
Tactically it does seem to make more sense for Gazelle to remain in the PCT and given that Metinvest and Meiji have been in the game for a bit longer they possibly deserve the spot more.
It's a fair decision in this case I think, Gazelle have done brilliantly in two seasons to be where they are and will be an interesting team to follow next year amongst the other super teams in PCT.
Personally I would love to see some other teams overtake them and perhaps then Gazelle may regret that decision to spurn the chance of promotion when they had it?

We have Europcar as an example from real life so it's not completely out there.

Real Life is somewhat different because there is no standardised Relegation/Promotion system like we have in the Man-Game. To me it's not a good comparision at all.
I understand DD's decision even if i don't agree with it. Though a large part of me wants 6-7 teams to finish ahead of Gazelle this season for the laugh

Thanks for replying DD and giving a detailed explanation to your decisions it's always great to know what's going through a managers head when making these.
A few of your points I strongly agree with such as PCT being more fun strategy wise and I get were you are coming from wanting to win the division.
I also understand you want your young riders to progress though I don't understand how that would stop you in PT as you could get your level 3 talents to a 4.70+ and then be able to max them in PCT if you were to relegate
The last point though I disagree with I don't feel you as a manager should feel you are inferior in your right to promote because someone has been around longer then yourself, I feel most manager here have a lot to offer the game and I feel everyone, regardless of how long they have been here should feel they can contribute to whatever division they are in. If not we may as well promote people based on how long they have been here.
Anyway I guess this year we will see if it is a wise move which I am inclined to feel it will be based on your track record so far. |

True. It was more directed at the argument that all teams always want to ride at the highest division. After all the team didn't finish on an automatic promotion spot.
I can understand why a team would want to be ready before promoting. No matter if it's Europcar IRL or a sub-top MG PCT team.

All other arguments aside, I think the most important factor is the final rule I read somewhere among these threads: have fun. This is just a game so if DD doesn't want PT, why should he be denied of that. It doesn't hurt anyone |

Fair enough. Those teams are indeed quite similar to mine. Just one major difference: they have sprinters. But you are probably right that specialization can be viable in PT, despite having no control over which races you ride.

Haha, yeah that would be the most compelling storyline of course. Will try hard to avoid it though.

True, this one differs from my other arguments. The others are all reasons for the decision, this point is just something that was reassuring to me after making the decision. It was simply nice to know that it was going to be an active manager with enough experience to handle the responsibilities of having a PT team.

Sad to see so many teams disband, but congratulations on those receiving 'surprise promotions', nice to see some of my fellow CT managers gain an unexpected promotion, although I have to wonder whether that's a good idea for some of the lower ranked teams. Looks like I was one ranking spot off promotion in the end which is quite funny considering how terrible we were this season, but it wouldn't have been the best thing for the team.
Also, transfer season gonna be crazy (again ) - Madrazo, Cunego, Phinney, Pluchkin, Sicard, Tenorio, Burghardt, Claeys, van Garderen, Bennati, Fiedler and many more all up in the FA market!
