Dumoulin will be hoping to do better then yesterday.

Live Coverage

Paul Sherwen: The 2nd last stage of the Tour of Qatar.

Robbie McEwen: Yes it is! It has been an exciting race so far. Can't wait to see the last 2 stages!

The Race

Paul Sherwen: The early attack is starting to take shape. The 4 attackers are Commeyne, Failli, Howes and Caruso.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%201_zpsxnhe0vio.png

Robbie McEwen: Alex Howes takes the win ahead of Failli. It was a very strong sprint from Alex.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%202_zpsknrna9wn.png

Paul Sherwen: Failli took the sprint point this time. Howes got boxed in and took 2nd.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%203_zps3zwlv8ke.png

Robbie McEwen: Airbus has a leadout worked out, Instead of Houle it is Aube as the front man. Omega Pharma – Quickstep and Orica-GreenEdge also have their leadouts worked out.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%204_zpsu1cfxqyu.png

Paul Sherwen: Airbus Cycling Team has started their leadout. They are a little bit further behind then they would have liked I think.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%205_zpsnsky5g6b.png

Robbie McEwen: Cavendish has taken another win. Dumoulin takes 8th place.

Paul Sherwen: But Robbie, look one spot behind. That's Matas Zukauskas in 9th spot! That's a great finish for that youngster.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%207_zpsap4xfdqa.png

Robbie McEwen: That's a great finish for Zukauskas. Cavendish takes another great win!

Paul Sherwen: That's all we have time for today. Last stage tomorrow. Will be very exciting!

Tour of Qatar

Profile

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/Stage%20Profile_zpsfwslfg6e.jpg

Only 106km left in my first stage race. I want to get another top 10.

Live Coverage

Paul Sherwen: The final stage of this years Tour of Qatar. Robbie what would you expect to see today?

Robbie McEwen: Well Paul what's expected today is for Omega Pharma – Quickstep too take another win. I think there will be an upset today though. If we look at the previous performance of Airbus Cycling Team they have really surprised and would like to leave with a stage win.
Paul Sherwen: Couldn't agree with you more Robbie. Let's get straight to the action.

The Race

Robbie McEwen: Aube of the Airbus Cycling Team takes out the first sprint point. Russom comes 2nd with Australia's Lapthorne in 3rd.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%201_zpsxvf3qlvw.jpg

Paul Sherwen: Well Robbie it looks like Cavendish and his team are trying to force a split.

Robbie McEwen: It certainly did Paul but it looks like they are all back together now.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%202_zps9ig6kdtt.jpg

Paul Sherwen: Robbie where is Airbus Cycling Team?

Robbie McEwen: Paul I am really not......oh wait...There on the left.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%203_zpsyjbflxar.jpg

Paul Sherwen: Only 4km to go now. Airbus has just showed up at the front. The other teams have a train worked out. Airbus only has 2 riders though. It looks like Zukauskas has takes full leadout duties.

Robbie McEwen: It does look like that. Let's see what they can do.

Paul Sherwen: Hutarovich is leading with 1km to go. Dumoulin is moving very fast in 7th place at the moment.

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%204_zpsjnuwozrw.jpg

Robbie McEwen: Sacha Modolo is moving like a freight train! He shoots past Hutarovich!

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%205_zpssdgphicw.jpg

Paul Sherwen: Amazing sprint from Modolo! He takes a fantastic win for Bardiani!

i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah237/jakstar21/TQ%206_zpslae7y4ap.jpg

Robbie McEwen: What a turn of speed from Modolo! That was incredible! Hutarovich holds on for 2nd with Boonen coming in 3rd. Dumoulin can only manage 7th which is still a great results.

Paul Sherwen: Yes it is Robbie. Airbus Cycling Team had a fantastic week here in Qatar. I also head that Jerome Coppel won the Tour of San Luis for Airbus Cycling Team which is another fantastic result for the team.

Robbie McEwen: Well we are finished. Our time in Qatar is over. We will see you all again soon. See you all later!

My Reaction:

We had a great Tour of Qatar. Dumoulin did well and I am really happy with my effort in the leadout and my first breakaway attempt. I had some really good results here like a top 10 and a few top 15s. It looks like I start my cobbles campaign in my next race. Le Samyn is next for me.

I'll seeya there

Hey everyone.

This is not ending just going on hold. Not finding any time to race this career at the moment as I am really enjoying my Nairo Quintana story. I may come back with this one soon or I may not. I'll keep you updated! Thanks everyone for following and I hope you all still support me in my Nairo Quintana story. Stick with me till 2015. It get's good then!

Seeya guys!

Wise decision to put this on hold for now so as expected Nairo will get our full attention Smile

Trying to do two stories at once is difficult so you made the right decision to pause one. I'll still follow when it is back
