Game crash in season 3

Ok, i made a breakthrough, i just hope I can explain how, and then ill need some help.
So, team charlart has 3 riders in the race, and Hayden Roulston starts first, so i picked them for experimentation.
In STA_equipment_model i pressed the little + next to Zipp 900 Disc wheel, and then when the list of teams using that wheel popped up i manually added charlart to it.
I started the race, and guess what, Hayden fucking moved from the start ramp!
He still has no front wheel model, but rear wheel model is there and he is actually riding the bike!
So i suppose the problem is narrowed down to rear wheel.
Now, can someone tell me how to make charlart (and other suspect teams) automatically pick for example, zipp wheels? I mean, how to make Zipp their wheel supplier? |

Ok I think I figured out where the problem is.
Team Charlart has no wheels in third season. It is not that they don't have wheel MODELS, it is that they dont have wheel suppliers.
In a save from previous season i opened, they had access to all mavic wheels.
In save from third (non working) season they have access to frames, eyewear and helmets only, no wheels whatsoever.
Sometime between 31/12 and 01/01 they lost their wheel supplier.
Is there a way where i can go to a december save from last season and extend all current wheel contracts for all teams so I can continue playing into third season? I found the brand contract table, but will extending the contracts there affect only money or will it actually fix the wheel problem? |

In STA_equipment_model, all of the listed suppliers (actually their equipment) have ID GREATER than IDs of helmets.
All of the "working" wheel suppliers have ID LOWER than ID of helmets. |

Im done for tonight.
To recap the bug in short, after entering my third season, 38 teams got wheel contracts from these 9 suppliers, and they have no access to wheels, which is making the 3d races impossible to play. In static equipment model table, all of the wheel models for these 9 suppliers have 0 values in value_i_version and value_i_default, and all of those models are "empty" when you click the "+" next to their Id, thus, none of the teams have access to them. Likewise, in team dynamic table, the 38 listed teams under equipment have access only to frames, groupsets, helmets, eyewear, but no access to wheels.
I changed the wheel supplier for each team in some static brand table, but that DID NOT assign the proper wheels to the teams.
I opened a save from previous year, extending the current contracts of wheel suppliers for 10 years, hoping that would carry over to next season, but it didn't do shit.
Basically, I figured out how to fix it, but its a lot of work.
I'd have to add each of these 38 teams in STA_EQUIPMENT_MODEL to each of 6 working wheel IDs, lets say Zipp for example, so 38 entries for each of 202, 303, 404, 808, 303PR and 900Disc, which is some 228 entries.
I suppose I could even assign the teams to their proper wheel suppliers, but adding them to Zipp only is simpler.
If anyone with more knowledge of DB magics could direct me as to how to fix this problem WITHOUT wasting a day of my life adding those entries, I'd be very thankful. So, is there any table, where I could "Assign" Zipp wheels to ORICA team with only 1 entry, which would then give ORICA access to all 6 Zipp wheel types?

Just to confirm that my "fix" works.
What you need to do is open your database, and assign all of these 38 teams to some working wheels, Zipp, or Mavic, or whatever. I did it team by team, wheel by wheel. If there is a faster way, I didn't find it.
I ran NZ TT and NZ RR without any problems.
I'll leave it to someone smarter to figure out why and how this happened (38 teams with these 9 wheel sponsors and no wheel models assigned), and I hope it won't happen again at start of season 4.

It must just be because of the 0 in version and default of sta_equipment_model (unless you proved me wrong beforehand and I missed something of your posts  ). Thanks for your time nesocip, that's very much appreciated and that's no spam at all as it confirms that's a bug of the database as I thought and was sure of.

I'm posting this because I encountered a similar problem and with the help of this thread solved it. Thank you nesocip!
However, my problem and solution were slightly different, so I hope this post is worthwhile to others.
I had the same problem except that I couldn't even sim a stage. The game successfully simmed the NZ and AUS NC races because I had no riders from those countries. However, when it got to my first race of the season, the game crashed to desktop when I tried to advance to the stage. The problem was also to do with wheel suppliers. I had a contract with Roval and when I looked on the 'Wheels' tab under 'Equipment', no models were listed.
The first thing I did was to go to DYN_team and edit fkIDequipment_marques_roue to a number that appeared regularly (80). I noted that Trek Factory Racing (amongst others) also had 80 in this column.
On going into STA_EQUIPMENT_MODEL, I checked all the brands until I found Trek listed under Bontrager. I did as you suggested and manually added my team to Bontrager's wheels in STA_EQUIPMENT_MODEL, but in the game, Roval was still my supplier and there were no models listed.
Finally, I went into DYN_brand_contract and changed my supplier to Bontrager and that fixed it.

I did not read the whole thread but apparently the solution has been posted.
But if you are not good at editing, you could attach your save to your post and ask somebody else to edit it.

Why exactly do you want to continue a career from somebody else? If you don't want to fix your career, then you could as well start a new career.
But if you want to continue another career, I recommend that you start a new thread . You need to tell us what DB you have installed, because you cannot continue a career from somebody else if you are missing important files like stages or bikes. |

I play with the V2 DB ive DL'ed on this site.

Hi,I have the same problem. Ive never edited a DB. Tell me if Im right:
I understand that I could open my save, and assign each team to a working wheel, which would fix it for this season but I might have to it for each season.
I understand that I cold open the equipment database sta_equipment_model and fix it for good by assigning the right value.
So I figured out how to open my save and I could probably fix it temporarily, but I cant find the sta_equipment_model thing to fix it for good. When I open PCMdailyExpansionPackV2_career (My Documents/PCM14/Mod/Database) I have 3 tabs: riders, track and teams. Where is the equipment db?

I tried to open my save, I change the wheel brand from the one that are not working (I narrowed it down to 2 btw: Enve Composite and FFWD), I save, but when I re open the file, the save hasnt worked. Im not sure Im opening the right file. And should I open in cbd or xml? Should I open : User/Myname/Database/solo/PCMdailyExpansionPackV2_career/MySaveName ?
Edit: Ok after 3 hours I figured out that I had to download Lachi's editor 
So I found Sta_equipment_model but I cant figure out what to change....

Ok fixed.
I tried to do it the proper way by creating the wheels that dont exist, but there was too many unknown values. So I put all the team needed into a working wheel.
It took me a full day to try to figure it out, but I think I figured it out:
I had a look at the DB PCMdailyExpansionPackV2_career, I think to fix it you just need to go to sta_equipment model, and you can see that the faulty brands have a "0" to:
Value_i_version ---> need to change to 1
Value_i_default ---> need to change to 23
Value_i_lastyear_---> need to change to 2010
I'm not 100% sure but that should make it work for a new career, and I also changed it in my save so I might not have the same problem in the future if one team decide to change its supplier. Just need to double check at the beginning of next season.
If it doesnt work, then just need to load the last save of the previous season, and change all the contracts duration to 10 years no need to go through the same bs
Another thing that doesnt look like it's affecting the game:
In DYN_team, the suppliers for frames and wheel are different than the current one. I think when a team change suppliers, somehow everything changes normally but not in DYN_Team. If anyone knows anything about that?

Nice - thank you! My workaround is to edit the DB in the last week of December every season. I look at DYN_brand_contract and if any teams are assigned a faulty wheel supplier, I change it to Mavic/Trek/whatever. It only takes me 5 minutes, but a permanent fix is great. |
