A great race to watch, Haussler rode the perfect race, I was supporting him. Ewan made mistakes though, those attacks weren't smart, Haussler just had to sit on. Great race by Van Der Plueg and Flakemore though, they'll be talents for the future and Morton is a new name, although he is 25.

Morton's not a new name, just a name returning from some time off doing other things
Thought it would go to someone other than a favourite but didn't expect Haussler but think I might have just forgotten about the guy. Ewan showing class and with more experience would have won that race so expect to see him winning a seniors road title at some stage in his career. Massive ride from Sam Spokes aswell and Bobridge showing great form over the NC's, he will smash The Hour record!

ok, didn't know about Morton, definetly agree about the other things though, especially Spokes, Austrlaian cycling looks good for this season!

In other news Avanti did the 1-2-3 in the NZ elite mens! Great race.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Yeah Angus Morton is the older brother of Lachlan, Gus raced for Drapac and was quite promising but took time off to do other things in film/documentary/TV and has only come back to riding full time this year and will ride for Jelly Belly with Lachlan, they should be interesting to follow on the U.S domestic scene.
Avanti 1-2-3 in the NZ road race was no surprise, beast of a team! I thought Cooper would take home a NC Jersey but thought it would be in the TT not the road race

I definetly know Lachlan, it sounds like Angus could be a real talent then.

I don't think it's OGE's influence (although they are good like this), Hayman is a good person and I think he is just trying to make up for a mistake.

I never said it was OGE, just saying they are good like that. . You always misinterpret my comments, I must be a bit vague.

Yep, look at the chain..
What a win for Haussler, hopefully a big confidence booster and after so much bad luck hopefully he wins something big again.
I am glad afterall I did not bet on Ewan because if I did I would seriously destroying something, the race was his and he threw it away. Inexperience, but pure bestiality.

Not sure on what many know on here about the newly crowned New Zealand RR champ Joe Cooper but keep an eye on him, tipped him for the TT but from what I hear locally and noticed on Strava he has changed focus since his injury last season that kept him out of action for half the NRS season (still won the overall title) and lost some weight and finding his climbing legs, well punchy climber legs. Wants a WT place and with the track record of Avanti ex Genesys ex Praties of producing WT riders I would say he is good chance of making it. Won't be a superstar but certainly is good enough to find a place

Another year and another season of Daryl Impey in the South African ITT champions jersey, with MTN - Qhubeka bringing rounding out the podium. The U23 ITT was won by Morne Van Niekerk.

Anyone know the story of why Bernardo Ayuso is riding the South African NC when he's Spanish?
