Well, kinda deserved yellow for Vantomme then Now hoping for Goss to defend his podium and holding on to his streak of consecutive Top-5s in stages. One more to make it ten.. A pity to lose both yellow and green though, as well as having all riders in the front group with no notable GC-hopes beside Gossy
Anyway, avoid another "worst case" scenario like Vantomme scoring so many seconds on one day, please. Ciolek and Cav still in striking distance to attack the final podium spots...

AMEXpc 's sprint squad is the model of consistency bringing their leader to 11th place in all 3 stages so far. We are improved from last season, but very slight. Grillo is doing what he can but with little support he is always on his own at the end.
I see no reason to hope that stage 4 will be any different than stages 1-2. We will earn some points but not as many as we needed.

In this sprinter field 3x11th is probably quite good already as it shows his interest in the sprints at least.
That said, you still shouldn`t have overbid me on him...while my sprinters don`t even sprint in PT, Grillo could have had some chances at least. |

Grillo has been very consistent so far this season. He never has help in the final kilometers, always on his own to find a wheel. As you said he always contests the sprints.
I am not unhappy with his production, he is doing his job as we hoped. What we lack are any supporting riders for him. The sad thing is by the time our young sprinters develop Grillo will be ready to retire.
I think he will have marginally more success in next years PCT, as our young sprinters will be better and we might actually see a sprint train here and there.
He was a solid acquisition - but yes I did over pay for him. I had lost 3 bidding wars for Punchuers and could not afford to not have a sprint leader.
Now if he could just squeeze out a couple of bonus seconds on Stage 4 to bump him up to the top 10, I would be happy with this tour.

Hahaha, low stat talent Charalampas Kastrantas kinda just rolls into third place at that uncontested intermediate sprint and is now 10th in GC and 2nd in youth classification. Easiest points ever if he doesn't get dropped tomorrow.
Hope to be in the break tomorrow. We missed them all so far.

Ugh, clearly the fastest rider. How PCM can fuck up sprint preparation on such stages is beyond me. We had the riders up there.
On the other hand, goal secured if there are no time gaps, but I really need that second place in the GC for the rankings.
And taking at least one win from 4 sprint stages without Meiji should be a must...

Meh...
At least Puma didn't win the GC, would've been bad for my chances of avoiding relegation...

Some useless Boeing domestique takes 16 GC points less than a 83 sprinter.

Fecking hell. Every jersey won. Brilliant Vantomme in one race redeems his season basically. Chapeau Maxime Over 80pprd, I will gladly take.
Thanks a lot Sykkel for the speed and quality of reports once again!

There goes your idea of a Maxime even cheaper in the next season..
Congrats for that great win

Ah, kinda lost the momentum there. Still a good podium and stage-win, won't complain. A pity Cav grabbed that 2nd place though
10th Top-5 in a row in Taihu and Eneco. Good streak.

AMEXpc picks up 46 points hardly a number to remember, but points are in the bank. Paride Grillo had a solid race as did cobbler Bernhard Eisel and domestique Michael Kurth.
Next up on the PCT for AMEX are the Tour of Bulgaria which will likely be a weak showing, but with some possibilities for susprises. Then the ZLM Tour, and we have no clue what that will bring.

Indeed, I don't mind much though (at the moment at least ) Still Vantomme last year had 1000points and Vantomme this season will have now 400. Probably will end season with 600 odd points so hopefully he'll be be cheaper a bit anyway
