La Tropicale Amissa Bongo Stage 5 Preview

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/amissabongostg5_zps461b11fc.png

The stage once again is very hilly, however the stage does flatten out towards the end. I predict that the stage will end in a mass sprint finish or a break once again. The stage is 189.5km long starts in Lambarene and ends in Mouila. Our goal today is to deliver Swift to the line and/or protect our KOM lead with Elminger

With 4km to go the break away was reeled in and two leadout trains were set up. There was an Orica train for Leigh Howard and a Tinkoff train for Bennati. Swift chose to follow Bennati's wheel.

Martin Elminger did a great job to protect his king of the mountain jersey, however Swifty was not feeling good and did not have the legs today.

@sutty It was indeed a very good performance by him to defend his jersey!

@hoyle Kessiakofs was expected and he delivered to not crash or tire himself out and be dropped

La Tropicale Amissa Bongo Stage 6 Preview

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/amissabongostg6_zps0931ce33.png

Stage 6 is not as hilly as the other stages but it still has a few ups and downs. A mass sprint finish seems very likely just as the previous stage. The stage is 146.6 km long and starts in Lambarene and ends in Kango. Today we are going to attempt to deliver Swift to the line and keep Kessiakoff in the peleton!

A very disappointing performance by Swift today, he was once again out of position and wasted to much energy following the wheels, he won't get a new contract at this rate!

The final stage of Amissa Bongo is probably the flattest in the entire stage race! A mass sprint will be the most likely outcome. The stage is 126.5 km long and starts in Owendo and ends in Libreville. Hopefully this time Swift will actually get a top 15 result!

Team Performance

We had quite a successful Amissa Bongo, if we had contained the breakaway on the first stage we probably would have won the GC. We also scooped up the King of the Mountain with Elminger. We also won a stage which was also amazing. Hopefully we can carry this success to the Tour de San Luis.

Tour de San Luis Stage 1 Preview

i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj521/Jihardy/sanluis1_zpsb3ecd2c9.png

Our second stage race of the year is the Tour de San Luis. The first stage is completely flat. I once again predict a mass sprint! The stage is 165.0 km long adn starts in San Luis and ends in Villa Mercedes. The team we are bringing include:
Merhawi Kudus
Matthew Hayman
Dominik Nerz
Kevin Reza
Lars Bak
Peter Velits

Our leader is going to be Peter Velits and our sprinter will be Kevin Reza. Our sponsor objective is a top 3 finish so we hope to do just that!
