And except for Van Stayen not even with the best riders. At this point, it's a battle for second place for the PCT ranking.

Venchi definitely goes crazy! Congrats, but yes, leave us alone
Ignatiev at least tried, finishing 30 seconds ahead of similar strong or better puncheurs. Given his advantage on Gerdemann in TTs, hestill can Top-3 here. Disappointed by Koren just sitting up and Rogers sitting way back in the bunch to lose it all. Horrible part of reporting Oz-races, to see your riders with bad positioning

Well, it was good while it lasted. Now, I'd consider this race as a successful one if we keep the KoM.
C'mon Kise, you can do it!

I would definitely sign a petition to prematurely promote Venchi and leave them out of all races from now on.
Gerdemann really strong to keep Kärcher's hopes of staying in front of us very much alive, sadly.

Gerdemann at a tremendous day the team were very well worked when needed and yet everybody ended within the pack.
Gerdemann seemed to be the only one working in pursuit of Craven and still was able to finish second.. The top 3 it seems to me now a very real possibility

Ignatiev had a tough day there, I would have haloed for him to hang on to craven but he never looked close to closing him down.
Venchi could be set for an amazing year here! they just keep knocking the hell out of everyone Di Maggion, MvS and now Craven!

Thanks for not helping Konovalovas guys!
A win here was near impossible, but now a top 5 will be be very tough as well...

We came for victory here, 2nd would be already a disappointment and it is very clear the game hates me so much as i hate it myself. First Ignatiev is riding with Gesink and similar punchers in Catalunya and later he is dropped in only race that matters during whole year by 1,2+ hill riders, that lack like 50 stat points in secondary stats on Mikhail. Fuck that.

Losing time on a longer uphill was expected imo. Now the ITT will have to show how much he will climb.
Catalunya had easier climbs I think. Ignatiev winning here would have been PCM shame. Being a bit behind more realistic. |

Longer? It was FIVE kilometres and he loose a minute on Kump (same hill stat with like 20 deficit in secondary stats), Gerdemman(+1on hill), and Kangert (+1 on hill). Craven getting away is completely legit, but two minutes when there is hardly some selection in other hilly stages??
PCM 13 is completely random shit, how can Konovalovas loose 2,5 minutes just because he is not attcking from the foot of the climb? I am relly sad that best reporters that game has still defend this randomness. Actually all the fun from man-game is ruined for me already, we can throw dices instead of doing a transfer season...
EDIT: This is the stage of Catalunya, where Ignatiev and even Pakthusov finished with 82 hilly guys, i would not call that easier stage,it is just because everything is random in this game. In 7th stage with much tougher climb than in Ukraine, he even distanced Phinney and Gesink, week later and he is dropped by Kump...

Gaps have always been bitchy in PCM and the steep climb - while not too long - made the difference here. Would be too easy to expect Ignatiev beating all others except of Craven just because Catalunya went so well. We all know the poor AI, but honestly, you can hardly blame it here for randomness. At least in Ignatiev's case. Of course not all 73+ Hill-riders wouldn't attack here, it's just like that. Ignatiev tried, he couldn't follow three similar strong or better puncheurs, so what? Huge gaps on steep climbs ain't exactly news
No, i'm not blind or something and i know this game's issues. But first of all, i would be tired of blaming the AI in every race and it would ruin the fun anyway. I know you had a tough year, mate, but you can't expect Ignatiev dominating that climb. He tried, and is still in contention.

Calm down Avin. Everybody understand you are disappointed by Ignatiev, but its not like a 62 HI beats a 78 HI either, and there were some quite high percentages, which is always likely to create gaps, so I wouldn't call it "random shit". The ones you mentioned have about the same hilly stats, and even though Ignatiev may be the better overall, then hey, every rider can have a bad day. Even in reality good riders loose a minute on decent riders now and then. I could have mentioned a lot worse examples than the Ignatiev one to be honest, so try to enjoy the game nevertheless.
I think you are exaggerating a whole lot here, but if you really mean that "all the fun of man-game is gone for you" then maybe it is best you resign and leave your space for somebody else. |

And that Avin, is why Reus isn't here. Olympia is lower risk, while here there were two stages on which he could have been dropped, due to the steep and reasonably long climb.
He will still dominate the TT though, just perhaps not win the overall. But expecting him to stay with better puncheurs is unlikely on an uphill finish.
Great reporting tsmoha. Are you sure you don't want a break yet? |

Thanks for the tip Bjartne.
I read the report once more (for the fifth time) and two most funny riders to focus on are Firsanov and O'Brien. They were part of the days break and still they dropped Ignatiev and held whole pack of puncheurs to gain almost minute on them, while they are like 20 seconds in front of the pack with 4kms to go. So i would like to hear how it is possible for the game to let Firsanov and OBrien actually increase their gap to Ignatiev/ peloton after whole day in the break. After reasonable explanation to that, i will back off and calm down.
Also if the game is not random shit, why Kump who attacked later than Ignatiev holds on the the group, while Mikhail not? There is no explanation for that in stats, so it is random or the daily form play too much of a role in that.
I know majority of people are just enjoying results, but i thought this game is about good decisions in both transfer season and planning. But if even the best rider in PCT on average does not win best possible race for his abilities, it does not matter at all.

If the rider with the best stats always won, do you really think that would be fun? I don't and I think I have the rest of the Man-game community behind me. I would never have played this game or PCM in general if I could just watch the stats of the riders and name the winner prior to the race. I haven't seen you complain too much about Hoffman's win in South Africa last year, which I personally thought was quite fun too.
Regarding Firsanov and O'Brien, I honestly don't know why they managed to hold on and not Ignatiev, but Ignatiev with a bad day form may have used most of his energy to bridge the gap, and then was already too tired to follow when Gerdemann started to take long deep relays.
I don't think the AI is good either, but it doesn't do much good to whine about results when they doesn't go your way.

I will repeat myself - for the very last time
We all know the game's most annyoing issues. Escapees hanging on there a bit odd, but who cares? No GC-threats for the likes of Ignatiev anyway. Attacking later than Ignatiev and still finish ahead of him ain't too random, tbh. Riders can suffer from their efforts at different points. And Craven simply crushed it here, so Ignatiev did still fairly better than some similar strong puncheurs. It's just like that. This stage would always be the key for better climbers to gap TTlers like your's and Koren, for example. It's not like you totally lost a race here due to Ignatiev sitting up for no reason.
On a more general note, not referring to Avin in particular: it's indeed quite annyoing and kind of getting tired of some people just posting how fucked up the AI is. I mean, some just stop by in a discussion to point out the poor AI. Tell me news guys, we ain't that stupid to praise PCM. But there's no need to keep posting it every single race
