So close for Brouwer indeed
Kelderman and Gesink lead the peloton over the hill. It looked like the Belkin duo wanted to attack but it’s more likely they set up the train for Hofland.
You forgot about Willem for a sec, didn't you?

hasn’t been any doping findings (yet?)
Just a grizzly murder... which i really need to write the next part of at some point
Great day for #Shindigs! Podium in a GT is very nice indeed and is a nice basis to work on for the rest of the race. Would rather have consistency than a win (although the team manager might disagree)

We are under way! A nice start from Nizzolo, that 9th place is something to build from.
- Shonak - Why would you want to turn up the difficulty to extreme? Surely the only thing that would do would be make it much harder for the control team to reach the finish.... |

No, the differences between the AI will be higher. The AI level will be multiplied by 1.05 instead of 1.025, iirc(or was it 1.10 instead of 1.05), which makes the differences between the riders higher.

Yes, excatly. Racing will be tougher and faster if I'm right, which suits some teams better and some less. (Brabantse Pijl was for example on Hard, while I think I had Extreme for Ronde and Roubaix).
Team Time Trial coming around in a few minutes.
You forgot about Willem for a sec, didn't you?
Totally, sorry.

Why not keep it at normal then? Gives more surprising results

We don't want surprising results!
@Shonak: "The word": Please raise it to Extreme

Shame Bennati rather vanished after finding a good position amongst the lead-out trains. Nevertheless there are more stages to go and I'm sure he'll do better.
Big thanks to Shonak for managing to get this up and running after all the troubles/delays

Stage 3 will be the first small decider and I hope we'll have consenus then. Right now I think it's 2 (Jesleyh, Silvio) vs 2 (knockout, Jaxika) and Ollfardh being funny I personally would prefer Extreme since I think the racing will be better but I'll do whatever you guys want.
With that being said, the TTT is here. I'm sorry for the somehow wacky report, I thought there would be the chance to watch the replay and catch additional screenshots for the winning teams but alas that wasn't the case.
Stage 2: Team Time Trial
Team Time Trial over 17 kilometers from Ischia to Forio. Some up & down in the profile and certainly a first decider of who will have the honour of wearing the maglia rosa, however it’s unlikely that any of the GC favourites loses so much time that he wouldn’t stand a chance afterwards for a good place.
The acclaimed favourite teams for the victory are Radioshack, BMC and Belkin, however on such a short course, the daily legs may be more important than general class.
Surprisingly for many, IAM got kicked out and the tyrolean team Team Tirol replaced them. Surely, their jerseys are some of the most beautiful around, right?
FDJ is the first team of real contenders going into the race though, and on their to the finish, they even pass Team Tirol. Enough for a good time obviously.
They are followed by Vacansoleil. The dutch team is 12 seconds behind FDJ at the intermediate.
It’s going slighty uphill for Euskaltel. Something the basque team surely appreciates. They are roughly 5 seconds behind FDJ at the intermediate.
Argos, the classy team, are good on a roll. They are the first at the intermediate for now.
There we have Lotto – Belisol kicking it. But not very fast though. 19 seconds behind current leader Argos.
Evans leading BMC down the hill. A reason for the manager to be furious though as the team is 3 seconds behind at the intermediate.
Russian Team Katusha forms a nice train, 8 seconds behind Argos at the intermediate.
Italian PCT Bardiani ain’t reknown for their time trial abilities. They are 17 seconds behind Argos here at the intermediate.
It’s a team of climbers, but they perform surprisingly strong here. With only 9 seconds gap, they are 6th so far at the intermediate.
Unsurprisingly, RadioShack – Leopard takes the new best time at the intermediate. However it's surprisingy that they have the same time as Argos!
Nibali leading his team of experts over the bumps in the road. They are 7 seconds behind Radioshack at the intermediate.
Last year’s winner Ryder Hesjedal is yearning to repeat his victory. A good team time trial would increase his odds. 2 seconds behind Radioshack, they can work with that.
The Italian leaders sure take charge of their team. Basso’s team is 7 seconds behind Argos/Radioshack.
A good ride by Quintana and his guys sees them 5 seconds behind at the intermediate.
A team with decent time trialists: Saxo – Tinkoff have currently a gap of 4 seconds at the intermediate. It’s close.
The same as Lampre – Merida with their leader Scarponi. Most wouldn't have thought but Lampre are doing a great TTT here.
What’s in for Omega Pharma without Tony Martin? With roughly 8 seconds, they hold 12th rank currently at the intermediate.
French team with many Italians and a favourite from Colombia, Betancur, holds 4 seconds as well.
It’s the Belkin train with Brouwer ahead at the intermediate. They hardly surprise by taking lead, 4 seconds ahead of Radioshack and Argos. However, will they hold the lead?
The Sky train even without Wiggins and Froome is still damn fast. 1 seconds behind Belkin at the intermediate.
Goss totally wants to keep the Maglia Rosa of course and the Australian team is known for some superb TTT performances. Today as well? Only 2 seconds behind Belkin at the intermediate!
The race is surely at a critical point with so many teams in reach, but it’s also clear when RadioShack Leopard reached the finish line, that the finale kilometers make all the difference between the good and the best. Cancellara and his guys put in a fantastic final ride and distanced Argos Shimano by 19 seconds there. However, they weren’t untouchable at AG2R La Mondiale and Garmin – Sharp, who closely followed with just a few seconds gap. The moment of truth came for RadioShack – Leopard, when Wilco Kelderman came rushing into the finale kilometer and was making the road burn – he crossed the line as the first, 5 seconds ahead of RadioShack!
But it wasn’t done yet. We talked about the Sky Train previously and they came around with their best performance here, where Richie Porte pushed the team over the edge. Although having crossed the line first, it wasn’t Porte who got to wear the Maglia Rosa at the podium though.
Orica – GreenEdge was still left and they put in a solid ride, but ultimately failed flat on the last meters. With this result, it’s Adrien Hanzen who is the first EPIC rider to take the leader jersey in a Grand Tour. Congratulations, #ShinDigs! Props also to Willew Brouwers, who's second in the classification, only 1 second behind Hanzen. With a decent sprint tomorrow on the hilly route to Marina Di Ascea, he may stand a chance to get a spell in pink as well?

Brouwer was so close to pink... Great ride by the Belkin boys though, and gratz to ''Stronger version of Brouwer'' Hanzen.
Stage 3 should be slightly hilly, I think. If Brouwer can hang on, who knows, maybe he can take pink.

Viviani 8th on stage 1 is decent, but we totally failed at the TTT.
I think I'll like extreme more. |

Yay. 4 seconds advantage ahead of Astana. The start for every second has began.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

8th pretty disappointing looked like we would be better at the intermediate check but we've even been beaten by Lampre!
RE the hard/extreme debate: I really really don't think it makes that much difference, there's not really much to debate about. Keep it on hard or whatever.
