No van der Ploegs? You could actually try applying for a full Aussieteam. riding in your team's colors
OK then i will take you up on that option and will replace Opie and Briggs with the Van der Ploeg brothers Neil and Paul , so the new riders will look like this :
- Nathan Earle
- Cameron Wurf
- Mark Renshaw
- Neil Van der Ploeg
- Paul Van der Ploeg |

So here's a first provisional (!) list of possible teams and lineups. This is likely to change with maybe a few more nominations coming.. Looks like at least one Aussie team could be taken out (replaced by an Asian team), as well as one Kiwi team (replaced by another mixed team). Personally I find that extremely racist and in violation of my rider's civil rights.

Well, me not
(but seriously.. and here comes a big IF... so IF there's any room/sparetime and bla for one or two single crits events like this one, I may consider running one crit event per continent.. but that's a really big IF.. especially as Europe would be a true pain in the a** with too many riders eligible!)
@sutty: Yap. Thought it would be cool to see this team, even though it lacks a top-sprinter or puncheur. But it's five Aussies, so here you go

Caleb Ewan
Simon Yates
Crits were good to us last year (well near enough) and it would be nice to fit in our two biggest talents (and one of the home nations most promising names)
Matt Lloyd
would also like to participate as i believe he is under the AVG (havn't got the DB to hand)

@Atlantius: Yes, noted. We've already a quite packed waiting list though
@TMM: Ewan and also Lloyd will be in for sure! Not sure about Yates.
@Roman: I couldn't resist putting O'Shea on your team (since I gave all Aussie/Kiwi based teams a chance to ride in their own colors). Hope you both will enjoy the time

Will be interesting to see who comes out on top in the first 'unofficial' race of the 2014 season.
- Would be great to know if anyone is thinking about doing a South American race similar to this. |

@The Rider: Better not expect anyone else to do something similar in the pre-season (if I'm wrong, I still have some crits-stages for South America on my computer).... like said before, I may (!!) run a crit for other continents (like SA) during the season, but I won't promise anything, as the official calendar is more important to be "reported"
@all: Here's an updated startlist. Guess we won't have much more nominations in the next days. The empty Aussie team is likely to be replaced by another Asian team, though I'm not yet sure, which focus to take for this last team. Several riders on the waiting list, so plenty of possible ideas
Oh, and I decided to go with a full team for Oz now, as one more Aussie team fell off, so no need to spread my riders to fill spots.

Or an Irish National team.
(Seriously, Hawkins, Speirs, Kelly, (McConvey), English and Christie or something like that would be great, Irvine too if his avg would allow it. )
