2014 Riders Development

We are happy to join the current trend of announcing results of training development of our riders in this season. Fantastic talents Roman, i like all those czech and slovakian ones, obviously Vakoč and Hirt are the most awesome ones. If you would need help with developing Hirt, let me know later...or if you need to get rid of any czech or slovakian, i suppose we will talk anyway during transfers Pfft

Tyron Giogieri also caught my attention, to be honest i was not aware about this rider, but he would be looking good in Metinvest colours. Smile

It`s nice to see that with Nowak and Vesely two of my first year riders are now maxed with you. While first will be a good support, Vesely can surely take some niceresults due to his better climbing. Together with Howard a strong duo at the end of GT`s.
And also Turek was stagiare with me I think.

Hirt obviously looking great as also Hepburn in future.
Really like your team with a lot of strong Czech riders. You really developed that country a lot.

@cio Well, to be honest, you have a little higher quality of almost every talent you have. But speaking about number of riders, I am probably better. Grin

@Avin Thank you! I will have a more clear idea about transfer/loan availability of my riders soon, but already now I am almost sure I will have to let go another rider or two like in the last season, when Rabon and Kulhavy had to go. I am sure we will talk again. Not totally sure Tyron is going to be available though, I already thought about going for even more Albanians! Pfft

@roturn Yeah, all three Novak, Vesely and Turek had a nice start of their career in your team, Turek got a stat upgrade after you released him though. Both Vesely and Novak are nice riders and could do with a small training boost in the future, especially Vesely is so young it is really likely he will get one some day. Novak is probably more suited to PCT than PT now, his wage demands could be a problem too, because he will likely never get any good results in PT, but we will see. It is nice to know you like my team as well, I will try to keep developing Czech and Slovak cycling in the future too, but my team will need to stay competitive in the same time too! Grin

@Gustavovskiy Thanks! I know you have some really talented Portuguese riders too! Together with a nice core of leaders in Machado, Costa and Avellino I am sure you will be back in PT with your team soon!

Becherovka or Kiwibank to end their sponsorship?

Rumours are flowing around us there has been a big conflict between bosses of Becherovka and Kiwibank in a last few days and things went so heavy now, it is highly likely one of these companies won't sponsor the team known as Becherovka - Kiwibank in 2015 season.

Rumours are Kiwibank want to expand the focus of the team on New Zealand and Australia, but Becherovka don't want any bigger involvement in that area of the world than the team has right now. A source close to the manager of the team confirmed, that Roman now received an ultimatum from both companies in this conflict and so it looks like only one of these companies will sponsor the team in the season 2015. The same source confirmed another sponsor deal to replace Becherovka or Kiwibank is already in place. Everything should be resolved in matter of days, maybe even only hours.

Now these are some interesting news, i was expecting it, but rather prior to 2016 season. Smile

My bet is a slovakian sponsor, so lets see who it will be in the end.

I wonder what that means for certain beast from New Zeeland...

Kiwibank quits, new sponsor announced!

After lots of speculations, Czech liquer company Becherovka wins the sponsorship battle and will continue to sponsor the team. In the similar time Kiwibank ends their sponsorship of the team and quits the world of the Man-Game.

The reasons behind all of this are quite clear, Kiwibank were strongly oriented on New Zealand and Australia and that was not the case what wants the other partner Becherovka. The manager of the team strongly suggested on today's press conference, that the team will be strongly focused mainly on the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the coming years and that focus on New Zealand and Australia aren't the biggest priority of the team. The question is what this means about the future of team stars like Sam Bewley, Leigh Howard or Jesse Sergent. Team manager Roman declined to comment anything about the future of these riders in the team at current time.

In the same time, the team announced that the replacement for Kiwibank has been found. We can happily announce that the new co-sponsor of the team will be Petrof, a Czech piano manufacturer. The company was founded in 1864 in Hradec Králové and after 150 years of expansion into the whole world, Petrof now expand into the world of cycling as well. Petrof agreed with the team concept of mainly promoting Czech and Slovakian cycling with addition of bringing some of the best world cyclists into the team as well, as well as promoting cycling in the exotic cycling countries.

All our other sponsors from Czechia and Slovakia - namely mountain resort Vysoké Tatry, Škoda, Author and AlpinePro are staying on the board. We can also present the new team jersey for the 2015 season. This year we will be riding in a shirt designed by OlegTinkov and so we want to thank him for the great shirt and all the effort he put in for us!

I wonder if you will play classical music, or jazz with your team. Pfft

Interesting to see that future of Kiwis can be a question, i wonder (and fear) who can be that "world best cyclists" coming in. That fits Bewley already, so just keep him and dont overthink it. Cool
