Great Ocean Road Classic Review
Nothing much to report on the team after the success in New Zealand. In the end, we were more commonly seen out the back of the peleton than racing hard at the front. Rowe couldn't keep up after the high winds battered him down the peleton but Wu managed to get some points for the team by finishing 20th, The break away did make it to the line first and Siam Cement got their first win of the season with Sarawut Sirironnachai

Wow the wind really split up the field. Let's hope Rowe can get in a good position soon so we can see what he can do in the sprint.

@DaveTwoBob - nice to have a supporter of the team, hope you keep reading!
This will be a very quiet month for the team, only racing in one race over the course of the month. The other riders will take this time to look to prepare for the other races that will come along next month.
The team has decided to enter this tour without the normal 'captains' of the team like Rowe or Tienan-Locke and have instead given Meenhorst and Takenouchi the chance to lead the team. Anything from this race will be a bonus and we'll get a glimpse of how Takenouchi will perform on the cobbles

The racing down in the low countries was, as expected, pretty damn hard. Overall wise in the GC, we didn't manage to place anyone particularly high but that wasn't a reason for us to be very sad at all, Takenouchi took a very good stage win on the cobbles, hopefully a sign of things to come and Shengjun Wu didn't do too badly himself, taking 5th place on the last stage and taking home one of 2 Polka-dot jerseys, being the Co-Winner of that competion.
Takenouchi taking top spot on stage 4
Wu struggling on stage 5, on his way to be Co-Winner of the KOM Classification
In other news, we have got the classification of the early season standings, and we are not doing too badly sitting in 6th overall, mostly down to Stannard's points haul in New Zealand...
CT
What a start it has been for In-n-Out. As if winning the season opener Clasico San Cristobal was not enough, they have stormed to a very impressive 219 points haul at the Benelux Challenge. Team Vontobel won the race with Wyss, but only took 130 points from it.
That places Vontobel 3rd, in between them are Eddie Stobart, the breakaway kings. A number of wins have gone their way already, including a big victory at the C1 Tour of South China Sea.
Fletcher-Garneau have started well in 4th - they topped the table after New Zealand, while Team TomTom just about have the 5th promotion spot. New Zealand winners Asda-Savers, plus Bank of Ireland, are not far behind.
The top 4 teams have the best PPrD so far, while the 5th best is Team Nordeus. They are in 9th, between Evonik and early leaders Nutresa.
Looking down, Siam Cement took a win in the Great Ocean classic but have not done much else, while pre-season favourites Risa-Ergon have raced the most race days, but don't have many points to show for it. It's been a poor start for all continuing CT teams. Sauber have just 25 points from 15 race days, while worse of all is Once-Eroski. 20 race days, 4 points. Ouch. The only reason they are not last is that Euskaltel have not raced yet.

Marcel Wyss is the first individual standings leader after two race podiums already - including that Benelux win. Fellow Benelux contenders Sweeting and Lebris complete the podium. Next are Meyer and Stannard - you can see that Meyer outscored the Brit in New Zealand, despite not winning the GC.

Pretty good points from Wu & Takenouchi in the Benelux Challenge for a team without the main team leaders. It was fairly unpredictable stuff from the AI with all the breakaway wins. Wonder if this will continue, the team has a few fighters, lets hope they can get in some of these breaks!
Solid start to the season.
Fingers crossed for a top 3 in the Seskin Classic.

Nice start certainly, and the bloated PpRD figures for In-n-Out and Eddie Stobart will stabilize a bit I think, so you'll be just fine if you can keep this up.

A nice, insanely long post just for you all, you should be happy
March Preview
March will be one of the busiest months of the team's calendar, featuring no less than 6 races during the month.
Royal Smilde Olympia's Tour This is a race where the team hope that we can be competitive within the tour with Stannard once again hoping for a result in the TT. However, this is a C1 race, the first we have raced, so it will be interesting to see how we get on.
Seskin Classic A top 3 is the goal for this race and with Tiernan-Locke and the strongest support that we can find, we obviously hope that we can complete this goal.
Volta ao Algarve We have brought Stannard here to hopefully win the final TT. Other than that, it was a relatively weak team to Portugal. Brammeier may surprise in the sprints but we have no real man for the overall, unless, surprisingly Stannard doesn't lose too much time in the previous summit finish. It is a race mainly for us to get in the breaks and show our jersey.
Tour de Beauce The goal for this race is to get a stage victory and we have a competitive team for that as well. Tiernan-Locke will be up there in the hilly stages and possibly the GC depending on his TT abilities. We haven't sent our strongest sprinter Rowe but Meenhorst and Murray can hopefully step up to the plate and surprise everyone.
Himmerland Rundt A nice pan flat race across Denmark. A sprint is likely and Rowe is our man, intending to improve on his terrible early season form. We have brought some strong riders as well to help him secure at least a top 10.
Tour d'Rwanda Our final race of the month and it is certainly interesting. We have sent a strong team, hopefully to win the race overall with Tiernan-Locke. He has the support of Richardson and Woods, who may go for a decent result for themselves. We have also given Meenhorst another chance to shine in the 3 sprint stages, hopefully taking advantage of a weaker sprint field due to the Himmerland Rundt taking place during the Tour.

Quite a busy month with 23 days racing, hope I can keep up with it all! Will be good to see what JTL can do, fingers crossed for the Seskin Top 3. Lets hope breakaway fever has passed and Matt Rowe gets some good leadouts in the sprints. I have a good feeling about Ian Stanard's chances in the Royal Smilde Olympia Tour, but I am prepared to be surprised by the AI .
Good Luck

March Review Pt. 1 - Wins, wins, wins!!!
Royal Smilde Olympia's Tour
First we'll review our first C1 category race, the Olympia's Tour, which brought a nice bunch of points for our classification.
We finished the race with a 2nd in the GC and a stage win thanks to Stannard's fantastic performances in the time trials, he ended up as the best of the rest after Dan Holloway of Heineken-Cal Giant took four stage wins and the GC with him. Rowe however, disappointed greatly, with his best result in the whole tour being a poultry 23rd place but we can forget that thanks to Stannard.
Stannard time trialling to victory in stage 6.
Stannard also put in a few attacks on the last day, but his attempts were not successful.
Seskin Classic
We'll also review our second race of the season the Seskin Classic, our goal was to get at least a top 3, lets see how we got on...
Our team controlled the race early on but eventually we dropped back one by one, leaving Tiernan-Locke on the right side of a crucial split which left others like Duggan and Geschke playing catch up. Tiernan-Locke was one of the most aggressive riders if not the most aggressive as he forced a selection over the last ascent of Seskin Hill. This left him, Wyss, Gaimon, Selander and early break away man Boivin fighting for the win. In the end Tiernan-Locke out-sprinted Wyss for the win and Gaimon rounded out the podium, what a great race!
Our team working on the front of the peloton early on in the day.
Tiernan-Locke attacking on the final ascent of Seskin Hill.
Tiernan-Locke celebrating his win.
and...
Tiernan-Locke on the podium, you lucky boy...

A great week for your team. It surely cannot get much better with both Stannard and Tiernan-Locke with some great wins. Only Rowe didnt deliver but i would not rate him as good as the other two anyway.
The ranking should look much nicer for you now.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Fantastic results! My "feeling" about Ian Stannard's good chances in the Olympia tour came true. The team and JTL executed a great race in Ireland. More than makes up for Rowe's lack of form.

Thanks guys, these points sure will be good for my team, and you're probably right about Rowe, knockout, his lack of ACC has really killed his chances.

After a while I have finally reviewed the rest of the races in March, I will continue to do an April Preview/Review later...
March review Pt. 2 - Nothing much to talk about...
Volta ao Algarve After the success of the first two races of the month, we really wanted to knuckle down and get more results, however, we couldn't achieve anything of note apart from notching up break away appearances and Wang-yip Tang's 3rd place in the KOM Classification...
Our team featuring in a break away, this time it's Shengjun Wu
Tour de Beauce We sent Tiernan-Locke for this race in Canada in the aim of getting a stage victory, however, things didn't go to plan and we could only manage 19th in the GC a stage top 10
Tiernan-Locke finishing well on stage 1
Himmerland Rundt We sent Rowe and a catalogue of lead-out men for this dead flat race in Denmark. We chased down the early break, but disaster struck when Rowe was involved in a crash late on. Mattias Westling of Team Live Nation won the race in the end.
Our team involved in the early chase efforts...
Rowe caught up in a late crash which ended our hopes of a good result.
Tour d'Rwanda We sent in a strong team for this new race in Rwanda, we only finished 13th in the GC and only managed 1 top 10 in the race...
Tiernan-Locke finishing 14th on the final stage, the final climb proving to be too much for him in the end...

Today we will take a look at all the races we will have in April, outlying what team will be riding and what we expect from them. April is sort of like a transition month for the team, with the 4 races all taking place within the first half of the month, not to mention the heavy schedule in May either.
Windhoek ITT
This individual TT is perfect for Stannard, he is the strongest time trialler on paper so we expect that he should at least make the podium, Brammeier and Hampton are expected to put in a creditable result as well.
GP Oudenaarde
Yu Takenouchi will lead the team in this cobbled classic. He has shown himself well in the Benelux Challenge and we hope he could replicate a similar result. Other than that, the team may want to feature in the break of the day as well.
This is a tough week long stage race. With Tiernan-Locke as our captain, we hope to get at least a top 10 in the GC and also have an eye on a stage as well. Being in break aways won't do us any harm either.
Tro Bro Leon
Our final race of the month is the classic Tro Bro Leon. Pitched between a cobbled or a sprinters race, we have brought Takenouchi and the sprinters Rowe and Meenhorst to do the job. Finishing in the top 10 would be an ideal way to end the month...

Good to see the man game getting back into the swing now the real life racing is nearly over.
Stannard is having a great season and the ITT looks like another great chance.
JTL should go well in South America.
Lets hope Rowe can get his season going but I have to confess I am not holding my breath.
Good Luck |

@DaveTwoBob - nice to see you still following us, not been to active on reports/team HQ but I might aim to improve it in the future
Windhoek ITT
We started the month with this individual TT where we hoped Stannard would do very well in and he didn't disappoint, beating Rory Sutherland by 20 seconds.
Stannard on his way to winning another race!
GP Oudenaarde
With this cobbled classic for the C2HC participants, Takenouchi aimed for a positive result, based on his previous performances. He finished 4th behind a strong 1-2 by the Evonik pair Saramontins and Dupont.
Takenouchi attacking during the race, later just missing out on the podium.
We brought Tiernan-Locke as our leader, hoping he could do a good GC and grab a stage win, unfortunately stages were out of the question but he did finish 8th overall to collect some valuable
Our team on the front of the peloton.
Tiernan-Locke finished 2nd on stage 3, his best result.
Tro Bro Leon
We finished the month with another cobbled semi-classic, this time with both Rowe and Takenouchi participating, however, Shengjun Wu got the best result of the team finishing 3rd from the break.
Wu finishing strongly to finish on the podium, well done!
Overall, we are happy with our progress, 8th in the standings currently we are still on course for a promotion spot, which would be awesome. Obviously we need to keep scoring highly for this to happen, we can do this!
CT
Some quite dramatic changes in CT. Vontobel climb into 1st place, TomTom rise to 2nd, and there are huge leaps for Evonik and Risa into the promotion positions. Bank of Ireland and Lierse also take Top 10 spots. Early stars In-n-Out are big fallers.
Dell are notable climbers lower down, Carlsberg too - but slipping considerably are Sauber and Maloja.
1 | 3 | | Team Vontobel | 885 | 2 | 5 | | Team TomTom | 685 | 3 | 14 | | Evonik - Signal Iduna | 653 | 4 | 22 | | Risa - Ergon | 644 | 5 | 1 | | Grupo Nutresa | 624 | 6 | 6 | | Fletcher-Garneau | 580 | 7 | 7 | | Bonsucro | 574 | 8 | 4 | | Team ASDA-Savers | 529 | 9 | 12 | | Bank of Ireland - Irish Cycling | 505 | 10 | 11 | | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo Cycling Team | 502 | 11 | 2 | | In-n-Out Racing p/b Auchan | 494 | 12 | 16 | | Azteca-NBCSN | 486 | 13 | 13 | | Team Nordeus | 381 | 14 | 9 | | ONCE-Eroski Cycling Team | 376 | 15 | 8 | | Siam Cement - Lenovo | 370 | 16 | 10 | | Eddie Stobart Pro Cycling | 339 | 17 | 18 | | Team Ameriabank-Novatek | 327 | 18 | 24 | | Dell - 361° Racing | 301 | 19 | 20 | | Team Chiquita-Universal | 291 | 20 | 17 | | Euskaltel - Bavaria | 283 | 21 | 25 | | Team Carlsberg - Danske Bank | 276 | 22 | 21 | | Wounded Warrior | 221 | 23 | 15 | | Sauber Petronas | 197 | 24 | 26 | | Team Live Nation | 193 | 25 | 23 | | Alpina - Avianca | 192 | 26 | 19 | | Maloja Mountain Nomads | 167 |
The projected standings are good news for Bonsucro, as it lifts them right up from 7th to 1st. Asda-Savers are also lifted into a promoted spot - while Risa clearly still have work to do, despite their recent rise.
Siam Cement do well out of these standings, while Fletcher-Garneau do not. As in PCT, many teams are quite close to their projections.
