Last signings for the team?
The chaos has come to an end... The transfer season has calmed down. And with one week passed and one to go, it might be a very sluggish 2nd week. Today, Aeropostal confirms the signing of 3 more riders. Let's see them.
Paúl Torres - €65.000
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 65 | 76 | 62 | 66 | 66 | 71 | 72 | 52 | 61 | 73 | 74 | 60 | 66 |
Wilmer Vasquez - €100.000
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 64 | 77 | 64 | 62 | 66 | 74 | 70 | 50 | 56 | 68 | 64 | 61 | 62 |
Xavier Nieves - €50.000
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | 66 | 58 | 66 | 65 | 66 | 66 | 63 | 53 | 68 | 68 | 69 | 61 | 68 |
Paúl is a veteran climber. The troubles over his hills might not help him, but he will for sure help Pedraza in longer climbs.
Same thing should apply to Vasquez. Pure climber, with difficulty to overcome short hills, he will be there as well to help Pedraza in longer climbs.
Xavier is a talent from Venezuela, a sprinter. Definetelly has the talent to become the best South American sprinter in the world in the next couple of years.
Let's notice also that Roniel Campos has been loaned to Grupo Nutresa to gain experience and hopefully, do good in C2 races. Let's pray for him and that he makes good use of the experience at Grupo Nutresa. |

Just like with the Team Kenya Airways seems we'll find enough throughout the season, 27 equal races. Being that all our races HC are exactly the same ..

I think most of the sprinters will be there which will make it very difficult if not impossible to Cabrera achieve the top5..
Kupfernagel and Davis will be there

Top 5 in DUC is really optimistic for an 80 sprinter, but as long as Ciolek gets me the goal (which is Top 5 as well), you can fill up the spots
I hope all the South American climbers going to Tachira will mean Delage can get some points on the hillier stages benefiting from their weak hill ratings, but Rizza and Privatbank's guys should definitely be stronger on the pure flat ones.

Sonnery and his 71MO says hi
So glad I gave up on flat sprints after last season, otherwise I'd be terrified now even with Napolitano, although I did consider going after Guarnieri. Good luck to those of you foolhardy enough to rely on sprinters |

Down Under Classic
Cabrera sprinting into a fine 5th place
Results:
5th Raúl Granjel Cabrera
130th Emanuele Rizza
133th Juan Mora
153th Eduardo Sepuvelda
154th Jason Donald
155th Xavier Nieves
165th Jose Mojica
172th Lawson Craddock
Review:
5th is a very fine result by Granjel, showing that he has what it takes to get good results even in a pack filled division with sprinters. 61 points from that.
Vuelta al Tachira
Pedraza, together with Nazaret, ride away from the pack in stage 8
Stage Results:
2nd Stage 3 - Emanuele Rizza
5th Stage 4 - Eduin Becerra
3rd Stage 8 - Walter Pedraza
2nd Stage 9 - Walter Pedraza
8th Stage 10 - Walter Pedraza
GC Results:
4th Walter Pedraza
37th Remberto Jaramillo
52th Eduin Becerra
60th Pedro Sequera
75th Luis Enrique Lemus Davila
Yeison Delgado
131th Emanuele Rizza
Review:
It was our goal win and we.... failed, obviously. Not a good start regarding our goals. Though the AI didn't help us. Still, 97 points is not that bad.
Full Review:
158 points from 12 race days, make a total of 13.2 pprd. Don't know how good that is, but it's definetelly not great. Going down already... |

I think your being too harsh with the team, 10 points per race day is actually pretty damn good. Obviously Tachira could have gone bit better, but still it was a fine race by your team.

13.2 pprd is pretty good, 2300 points over a season. Enough for a top 20 at season's end |

Tour of South Africa
Our Squad:
Eduin Becerra
Maky Roman
Fabricio Ferrari
Félix Emilio Besada
Stefano Pirazzi
Lawson Craddock
Gavin Mannion
Pedro Pablo Pereyra
Goal:
Uhm... I think breakaways are our biggest chance of doing something, so do it. Hopefully we get some surprise and maybe, just a big maybe, Becerra sneaks into the top 15.
Tour of Oman
Our Squad:
Remberto Jaramillo
Paúl Torres
Wilmer Vasquez
Pedro Sequera
Eduardo Sepuvelda
Luis Enrique Lemus Davila
Yeison Delgado
Xavier Nieves
Goal:
Well, more troubles. Jaramillo needs to hang in the hills, same with Torres and Vasquez, and then try to finish all three in the top 25/20.
Vuelta a Mallorca
Our Squad:
Raúl Granjel Cabrera
Eduin Becerra
Juan Mora
Jose Mojica
Jason Donald
Gavin Mannion
Pedro Pablo Pereyra
Goal:
I have no idea how many sprinters are here. If there aren't a lot, Cabrera has the chance of taking two wins. If it's a sprint packed field, top 5's would be good. Regarding GC wise, I would take a top 15 with Becerra.

@Alak - Tachira could definetelly have gone better. *cough* AI *cough*. Well, maybe I am beeing too harsh, but I have a feeling that at the end of the season it's going to be 0/5, maximum 2/5 in terms of goal and probable relegation.
@jph - I'll bet my sweet ass my team won't be even near that mark probably.

Win's arrive at Aeropostal
Cabrera wins the Stage 4 in Mallorca
And after a little bit over a month after the start of the new season, Aeropostal grabs their 1st win of the season. A little bit later than least year, when Dall'Antonia won the Emerald Race at the start of February. And as we get closer to the month of March, Cuban sprinter Raúl Granjel Cabrera finally gives us our 1st win, by taking the 4th stage of the Vuelta a Mallorca. More to come on the Monthly Review coming up later tonight! |

A rare showing by us in South Africa

126th Stefano Pirazzi
143th Maky Roman
165th Gavin Mannion
168th Pedro Pablo Pereyra
171th Lawson Craddock
Review:
Just look at the results. Awful. God awful. 2 points. Just awful. Get me out of here before I start swearing... again.
Tour of Oman
Sepuvelda grabbed 3rd place in the last stage
Stage Results:
4th Stage 5 - Remberto Jaramillo
3rd Stage 6 - Eduardo Sepuvelda
GC Results:
19th Pedro Sequera

67th Luis Enrique Lemus Davila
96th Eduardo Sepuvelda
111th Paúl Torres
114th Wilmer Vasquez
132th Yeison Delgado
137th Xavier Nieves
Results:
Well, after what happened in South Africa, everything could be better. This certainly was, and a decent haul of 37 points makes me somewhat happy.
Vuelta a Mallorca
Happy days as Cabrera takes the last stage in Mallorca
Stage Results:
4th Stage 1 - Raúl Granjel Cabrera
5th Stage 2 - Juan Mora
7th Stage 2 - Raúl Granjel Cabrera
1st Stage 4 - Raúl Granjel Cabrera
GC Results:
9th Eduin Becerra
47th Juan Mora
52th Raúl Granjel Cabrera
64th Pedro Pablo Pereyra
67th Gavin Mannion
82nd Jason Donald
90th Jose Mojica
Review:
Win number 1! Yes! The all team was happy after that. Great job by Cabrera. It was a very decent race for us, overshadowing the disaster of South Africa. And we scored the ammoun of... 69 points. Be happy.
Full Review:
One disaster, and two, well, good races. 108 points from these three races, making a total of 6.75 pprd. Maybe if the disaster of South Africa hadn't happened, this would be a lot better. |

Tour de San Luis
Our Squad:
Wilmer Vasquez
Pedro Sequera
Fabricio Ferrari
Jason Donald
Stefano Pirazzi
Eduardo Sepuvelda
Luis Enrique Lemus Davila
Goal:
Well, after what happened in Oman with Vasquez, I'm not looking forward to this. But I think a top 10 in the GC would be very good. Sequera might be a nice surprise as well, while Donald is coming here to try and make a good TT.
Olympia's Tour
Our Squad:
Raúl Granjel Cabrera
Emanuele Rizza
Félix Emilio Besada
Eduardo Sepuvelda
Yeison Delgado
Lawson Craddock
Xavier Nieves
Goal:
There's probably going to be here every single top PCT sprinter. Cabrera should get's a couple of top 10's, maybe, top 5's and who knows, podiums or even wins. I think a top 10 in the GC is achievable though.
Giro del Trentino
Our Squad:
Remberto Jaramillo
Maky Roman
Paúl Torres
Juan Mora
Jose Mojica
Jason Donald
Eduardo Sepuvelda
Goal:
Jaramillo is a good climber, so is Torres, but I just, sadly, can't see them get a very good result. Maximum, I think, is a top 10. Depending on the level of the field obviously. If the field is week, probably very unlikelly, they can do better hopefully. But I think top 10 would be very good. Top 15 though is the goal.
Corsica International
Our Squad:
Walter Pedraza
Remberto Jaramillo
Juan Mora
Wilmer Vasquez
Jose Mojica
Lawson Craddock
Gavin Mannion
Pedro Pablo Pereyra
Goal:
If Trentino might be packed, this one will definetelly be! Pedraza is good and he can probably sneak into the top 10, maybe fight for the top 5 or podium. Never than less, top 10 with Pedraza and with Jaramillo and Vasquez trying to sneak into the top 15 as well for a good haul of points. |

Sorry for not having posted updates in a very long time now. I'll have to do one big update in the coming weeks, but with school and all, it's hard finding some real big time to do it. Sorry all. |

Well, since I'm on Christmas Holidays, I've updated, in the 3rd post of this thread, the results of the post up until the last race run, that beeing, Tour of Southland.
During the next couple of days, I should make a review of the months that have gone by since February. So, be forward for that, if there's anyone who actually follows this thread! |

Mobil leaving as a sponsor?
After the Tour of America, a race where Mobil won two stages, rumours started spredding across the cycling nation that Mobil might be leaving as a sponsor for the American-Venezuelan squad. Comentanting on the subject, team boss Miguel Rocha said "They're contract ends this year, and we're currently negotiating a contract extension with them. We would for them to stay, but the team's results this year are not helping the negotiations." More updates are expected in the next days, with Rocha setting up a press conference to reveal the plans for the 2015 cycling season after the Philadelphia International Champioship classic. |

Mobil to stick with Aeropostal
Mobil announced today that it will stick alongside Aeropostal for the 2015 campaign. As the venezuelan team seems set to go back to the CT after a year of experience in the PCT, the oil giants announced that for 2015 at least, they'll continue to provide the team with money and oil for they're cars. The team manager, Miguel Rocha, said that "I'm really gratefull for Mobil for agreeing to stick with another year with us. They've been with us since the start of this project, and we would love for them to be part of it. Fortunatelly, it seems that it will happen, for 2 more years at least." |
