Brilliant jerseys! Beautiful work yet again. I probably won't let you get all of them, though
Sad to see Rodas leaving, was great for you last season and enjoyed watching him ride in the MTN kit. I can understand though, with him ageing and you becoming more African. Would be cool if one of the Colombian CT teams could take him on.
It is a shame. I really like him, but I might need the money at the end of the day. Anyway, we'll see come transfers... I think he'll look cool in a CT Coloumbian team, being such a legend and all.
Hmm the Alpina management concurs with that last sentence

News of unsettled riders in the Project Africa camp was considered speculative by representatives from Colombain new-start Grupo Nutresa. In response to this news, lead DS Henry Cardenas was quoted in national daily El Pais as stating
Look, at this time of year there are always crazy rumours popping up on fan web-sites. Project Africa manager Aidanvn13 is an experienced and shrewd operator, I'm sure that he would never be caught off guard making such statements - he has very obviously been mis-quoted in this instance.
In response to further badgering, Cardenas did indicate Of course we would have a high level of interest in bringing Rodas to our project, however we have a very long lost of riders under consideration. What we have to balance when putting our first year team on the road is the right blend of youth and experience. Julian is a fantastic campaigner, who you can always count on in the mountains, but we have to weigh up the potential cost of buying such a well regarded rider out of his contract versus his age. It is likely that we will want to see how the cards are dealt in the early stages of free agency activity, and with enquiries with younger riders before turning our attention to potential team captains.

@Mresuperstar: We'll look into the possibility come transfers. It would be with a sore heart that I release Rodas - he's a legend

We are glad to announce that all our requested HC invites have been confirmed with no rejections! 2014 will see the team tackle various terrains, but it seems that most points will be scored in flat classics and flat stage races. It's obvious that the team is chasing a top sprinter, however, the team does have plans of signing a decent mountains leader as well as moderate hilly leader.

First Signatures for 2014!
It is with great pleasure that we announce our first signings for the 2014 season! No leaders confirmed just yet, but nonetheless it seems that some good quality signings have been made. Other than these, it seems that Van Heerden and Augustyn are both on their way in, although not completely confirmed!
__________________________________________________________
| Jay Thomson |
FL | MO | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 73 | 65 | 73 | 74 | 72 | 69 | 74 | 52 | 65 | 68 | 74 | 67 | 72 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/big_thomson_zps02526f93.png[/img-l] We are delighted to have snatched Jay up from the South African local scene. He is known as being a strong workhorse on all terrain, from hills and flats to time trials. Jay should also add some much needed support to our team time trial squad.
__________________________________________________________
| Jacques Janse van Rensburg (4.00) |
FL | MO | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 72 | 73 | 72 | 68 | 72 | 74 | 71 | 52 | 61 | 65 | 73 | 65 | 68 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/big_vanrensburg_zps9752a6ba.png[/img-l] Our second of many South African signings. Jacques has been drafted in after some solid performances on the domestic circuit. Jacques is a real stage racer and should offer some valuable support in the mountains and even on flat roads. However, we believe it best for his career if he was to spend a season on the Pro Tour. Rumour has it that he might be joining his countryman that shares the same surname, although they're not related!
__________________________________________________________
| Costa Seibeb (2.00) |
FL | MO | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 70 | 68 | 69 | 65 | 67 | 66 | 65 | 59 | 61 | 67 | 73 | 58 | 65 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/big_seibeb_zps245d788b.png[/img-l] As our third African signing, we present to you a very promising youngster. This little Namibian has impressed us while riding for the UCI World Cycling Centre in Africa, but his notable performances came when he competed abroad in the UCI's Switzerland base. No doubt that this youngster will some day a force to be reckoned with on the hilly terrain!
__________________________________________________________
| Francisco José Terciado |
FL | MO | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 67 | 75 | 69 | 63 | 67 | 73 | 73 | 51 | 61 | 71 | 73 | 64 | 63 |
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/big_terciado_zps91d60032.png[/img-l] Perhaps being one of the more suprising signings, Francisco joins as after spending a season riding for Bacardi on the Pro Tour. He was not offered a new contract and we jumped right at the opportunity and we signed him for a minimal fee! With rumours going around that José Angel Gomez Marchante is a big target for the team, they seem confirmed with the acquisition of this Spanish mountains helper.

| Valens Ndayisenga (1.00) |
FL | MO | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 65 | 69 | 67 | 63 | 65 | 64 | 66 | 52 | 63 | 67 | 65 | 68 | 63 |
This promising young Rwandan joins us after impressing us while riding in his home country. The team noted his performances in various African races and has thus offered him a contract to further aid his development. He fits in perfectly with the team's goal of developing African talent and it is our belief that he'll one day grow to be one of Africa's best climbers.
__________________________________________________________
| Abdelbasset Hannachi |
FL | MO | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 71 | 53 | 65 | 62 | 71 | 67 | 72 | 54 | 75 | 76 | 63 | 59 | 62 |
Another Algerian fast man will be joining us this year. He is a carbon copy of countryman and team mate, Abdalla Ben Youcef. These two will be tasked of being lead-outs for the team's main sprinter. However, it seems that a deal concerning Juan van Heerden has fallen through and as a result, the team will be looking elsewhere for a leading sprinter.
__________________________________________________________
| Willie Smit (1.00) |
FL | MO | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 69 | 64 | 67 | 67 | 68 | 68 | 67 | 54 | 65 | 68 | 77 | 66 | 68 |
This promising South African has been delivering consistently on all terrains. He recently claimed a win in the domestic 94.7 Cycle Challenge in South Africa and has led us to believe that he has the talent to one become a solid bike rider.

Big Signing: John-Lee Augustyn Returns Home!
News has broken from the Project: Africa camp that one of our major targets, John-Lee Augustyn, has signed with the team. He joins us after spending the past season on the Pro Tour riding for Aker-MOT. We would like to extend great thanks to Aker for the pleasant dealings we had! On a different note, we wish that Juan van Heerden has a horrible season with Aker
There is no doubt that Augustyn should rack up a consistent series of results in the Pro Continental Tour next season due to his great stage racing ability. It is unclear exactly which races he'll target, but we are sure to see him perform well wherever he races. We've also roped in strong support in the mountains for him. We're also in the process of signing a pure climber that should co-lead the team in the mountains.

Our final roster seems to be taking shape. Unfortunately our deal fell with our favourite sprinter fell through at the last minute, but we've found a replacement in the unknown entity of Roman Maksimov. Another interesting name is that of Africa's 2nd best puncheur, Gasore Hategeka from Rwanda. We are quite happy with how things have developed and although our transfers weren't ideal, we are confident we have a solid base for next season.
