The Rapha Cycle Club, London, UK
22th December 2013
** BREAKING NEWS **
Hoyle: Let's see the new jersey!
It's a few days before Christmas, it is snowing outside and the London street are full of people looking for one final present before the shops close. Seems like the perfect time for the launch of the Rapha-Bianchi Cycling Team kit for the 2013 season!
Designed and made by Rapha, whilst taking influences from Bianchi and its famous history, the 2013 kit puts a modern twist on the classic designs from the past. All those involved in the entire process from start to finish are delighted with the result, and hope the PCM Daily world also agrees.

@sutty: I am happy with the team not bad either to say that all these riders are available on a free as well The jersey does have an air of 'Team Sky' about it, but I am hoping the colours and other small areas will make it slightly different
@selwink: Glad you like it simple in design but I think it works. Was made using real life jersey designs from the Rapha and Bianchi websites

I sense marginal gains in that jersey. Looks nice though. |

National Cycling Centre, Manchester, UK
2nd January 2013
** TRANSFER NEWS **
Rapha-Bianchi complete 2013 roster
January is upon us, and finally Rapha-Bianchi manager Phil Hoyle can announce his last signing to the team, in form of Linus Gerdemann.
The German rider rode for the Leopard-Trek team during the 2012 season, and bound under contract not release details of his release and signing to Hoyle's team until 1st January.
With a team roster now numbering 20, Hoyle seems very happy with his squad he has brought together.
Hoyle had many more reasons to be happy as we begin 2013. The team's application to become a ProContinental team was granted by the UCI, whilst the squad have also successfully been allowed to slightly alter their name ahead of the season opener at the Australian National Championship.
Whilst it was first published as Rapha-Bianchi Cycling Team, Phil Hoyle today stated that they will ride under the name of Rapha-Bianchi Racing Team. The team will still be registered and based in the UK, however, if rumours are to be true, Hoyle has plans to turn his team into an Anglo-Italian Cycling Team.

Gerdemann will surely get the team some good results.
Hopefully Moser or Ulissi are without contract next season. |

@krisa: that will be slowly developed over the season with scouting, and future targets
@mvhoogdalem: just as a small taster of Italians out of contract at the end of the season... Ulissi, Viviani, Cataldo, Cunego, Moser, Rabottini

Great calendar. Some though goals, but maybe that will make the riders try a little harder. |

Australian Time Trial Championships
Ballarat-Ballarat -- 37.0km
Orica-GreenEdge set the early pace in the TT, with 5 of their riders holding the Top 5 places
Provisional Leader
Sprint 1 | Sprint 2 | Finish | C. Meyer (OGE) | C. Meyer (OGE) | C. Meyer (OGE) | 15'05 | 28'24 | 50'56 |
Damien Howson was Rapha-Bianchi solo entrant, and the youngster flew over the early part of the course, and was just 4" behind Meyer at the second sprint point.
Rohan Dennis was an outside bet for the victory, and the Garmin man looked good for his money, as he soon toppled Meyer off Top Spot at the Sprint Points out on the course.
Provisional Leader
Sprint 1 | Sprint 2 | Finish | R. Dennis (GRS) | R. Dennis (GRS) | L. Durbridge (OGE) | 14'58 | 28'11 | 50'52 |
Sadly for Howson could not keep up his high pace, as he dropped off towards the end of the route. Early hopes of a Top 10 finishes were crushed as he crossed the line 1'36 down on new Leader, Durbridge, in 12th.
Dennis flashed across the line, smashing the time of Durbridge. Only Richie Porte (Sky) could knock him off top spot, but as he passed the Flamme Rouge, it was clear that he was not going to be beat him. Rohan Dennis is the 2013 Australian Time Trial Champion!
1 | Rohan Dennis | Garmin - Sharp | 50'34 | 2 | Richie Porte | Sky Procycling | + 17 | 3 | Luke Durbridge | Orica - GreenEdge | + 18 | 4 | Cameron Meyer | Orica - GreenEdge | + 22 | 5 | Michael Rogers | Team Saxo - Tinkoff | + 24 | ... | 18 | Damien Howson | Rapha-Bianchi Racing Team | + 1'58 |

Australian Road Race Championships
Buninyong-Buninyong -- 160.2km
It was break of 5 riders that managed to get away early on in the stage. Jack Bobridge (BEL), Nathan Earle (RBR), Patrick Lane (BCP), Adam Phelan (DPR) and Glenn O'Shea (SKT) were all present.
Garmin, Sky and GreenEdge took up control of the peleton, as the escapees built up a nice healthy lead
Time Gap -- 60km
Peleton > 5'43 > Lead Group
The group worked well together out on the circuit, each taking it in turns setting the pace.
With 50km to go, the pace of the peleton was upped before they left it too late. Sadly for some riders, this was too much and they lost contact at the back.
Time Gap -- 135km
Last Group > 2'54 > Peleton > 1'23 > Lead Group
Less than 10km to go, and the gap was down to under a minute. The favourites had attacked out of the main peleton, so drastic action was taken by the breakway. Earle was the first to attack.
The string of attacks was enough to drop O'Shea, but coming to the line there were still 4 off the front. One of these riders would take the win. Earle lead out the sprint, but had he gone too early?
He had... Phelan takes the victory, in what can only be described as of the tightest finishes to a race. Less than a wheel width separated all 4 riders. Lane takes second, with Earle just holding on for third.
