Hoping for Thomas De Gendt in the breakaway to get the mountain jersey.
Could be fun, but I doubt Europcar will let him.
Rolland, De Gendt, and Clarke seem to be in contention so far - but I have a hard time seeing anyone but Rolland take it. |

It just takes one big breakaway in the mountains for it all to change, Rolland needs to lose a bit more time so he can get into the breaks once the race goes up, I stil think Voeckler is the one or maybe somebody like Navarro

I think going in a breakaway today is kinda waste of energy because tomorrow and on sunday there are so many point to score. |

Navarro is going for the GC. After his 5th place in Critérium du Dauphiné, the team decided to alter their strategy for him, since he can get a top 20 GC.
He is a candidate if he is dropped this weekend, though. But I just have a feeling that there will not be that many gaps in the GC (other than the TT) before we hit the Alps. |

It seems like a crash happened.
Involved: Edvald Boasson Hagen(SKY), Daniel Moreno (KAT), Thibaut Pinot (FDJ), Christian Vande Velde (GRM), Nairo Quintana (MOV), Richie Porte (SKY), Michael Schär (BMC) and Gatis Smukulis(KAT).
(Note: I used multiple sources to collect it, so might contain a mistake )
Vande Velde Abandoned.

Except for VDV they are not realy injured I think.
All were back on their bikes pretty quick and back in the peloton.
Quintana must have crashed 5-7 times already this Tour. Today 1x, yesterday according to his team 3 times. |

I wonder how long he will stay in the race. With the second week full of flat stages, they will probably keep him in untill the Ventoux. Anybody knows for how long?

Every stage he can gather experience is a win for him, to me.
To be honest, I had expected him to be out of this race by now, or maybe tomorrow.
It's really impressive that he even can get Top 10s, surviving stages in the peloton is already impressive for guys from his age.
Edit: They'll just keep him in until he can't survive, I read. Though they don't want him to finish the race that bad, only if he can handle that. They expected him to drop out after week 1 anyway.

Dutch commentator said that Rolland won't go for the KoM jersey anymore. He will aim fully for the GC and won't put any effort in getting KoM points anymore.
Well, almost no effort. What he just did doesn't really take a lot of effort, since nobody was contesting in the peloton
