Last time VDB abandoned, Vanendert won a stage.
Let's hope De Clercq can surprise us this time. |

I think he meant a stage this Tour, not today
But yeah, De Clercq has shown what he can in the Vuelta, let's see how he does the Tour. Speaking of the Vuelta, I'm guessing VDB will give that one another go then.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Bouet also abandons obviously.
He broke his arm after yesterdays crash over his handle bars.
Zubeldi with a broken hand continues. Same with Vandevelde |

I reckon that the last few kilometres will unsettle a few of the sprinters and Sagan will get the win with Gerro retaining the Yellow Jersey |

I doubt that the last kilometers will be any problem today.
More likely that the wind will have an influence. |

Sad to see VDB abandon. First GC contender to abandon. He'll probably target the Vuelta now. |

Last time VdB abandoned, Greipel beat Cav in the next sprint, so maybe Greipel today? And I hope De Clercq will get a free role now, but I doubt he will pull off "a Vanendert".
A sore knee should heal pretty quickly, so I hope VdB can start with good form at the Vuelta (not like the past two editions). I don't know his opponents yet but a podium should be possible. |

Fortunately, i dont think that JVD would have been much of a thread anyways. This year, the contenders are much stronger than last year and I think that he would have been 5-6 in GC at best. When that is said, it's always sad to see a rider abandon due to a crash - especially a rider as JVD - but it isnt as bad as it would have been last year.
Look forward to this stage, think it's gonna be rather exciting with the reports from the route in mind. |

Top 5 at the sprint are:
Greipel
Cavendish
Kristoff
Sagan
Steegmans
Cav was catching Greipel but came up a little short, surprised not to see Kittel up there. |

What did you honestly expect? It's a flat stage in the first week of a GT with sprinters like Cavendish, Greipel, Kittel/Degenkolb and Sagan all with teams dedicated to them.
If you don't like flat stages, why do you watch them? Do something else with your time if you find it boring. |
