It is 8gbb of DDR3 (which is becoming dead technology for gaming) and 3gbb will be used to run the OS. So you have 5 gbb of DDR3,which is nothing when speaking about future of gaming.
It brings new technology compared to old generation consoles, but technologies that will be old in few years, probably already at launch day. You can have it in PC for lower price now, but it is everyones choice to buy more expensive stuff that does less.
My used games problem is that if I want to buy a 360 game from 2007, then there is no way I can get it new. Only used is a realistic possibility. So that's my issue.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy
To our recent discussion...Microsoft is ready to monitor the gamers, no one will be able to tell how frequently and what they do with data, as soon as they will be allowed to do that because of amount of people restrictions...
Based on the Sony press conference, the only thing that can really save Xbox One is a much lower price and extreme amount of high quality exclusices. Neither will probably happen.

It looks fantastic. It seems open-world games are the way to go now, so many games announced at E3 are to be open-world.
Open world is great sound for every ear, but it is also most difficult system to master and create, so many games failed at creating functional open world...
X-Box is dead, PS4 should be in most of living rooms (but uninformed people will still buy X-box probably).
Could somebody do up a list of advantages/disadvantages for each console? I think it'd be useful for a lot of people, including me. I'm not as well-informed as others so I wouldn't be the best person to do it.
That being said, I'm not very pleased with online gaming now requiring PS Plus (and thus costing money).
I'm not the typical gamer. I play in periods - 1 month all the time, the next 3 months not at all. So basically, I'd have to get my credit card every time I turn on the PS4.
Also, in my opinion, the design of the box is horrible, just like the Xbox
There's no doubt the PS4 is the far better option, but this may be the generation that I decide to skip (I said the same about PS3, then regretted it when GTA IV was released ).

Then you're in luck (if you did buy ps3 after all), because GTA V will be released for ps3 and will be the best game ever = 3 years of gaming pleasure at least
I always liked the Xbox so far. But the new things for the Xbox One adoesn`t sound very good.
If!! I will get a next generation console I might have to think about it more than twice.
Just like CrueTrue I am not a typical gamer, but instead play from time to time.
And as new games will still be released for the Xbox 360, I might just skip that generation as well.

Something for you and the others too. Anyway main advice is clear from me, dont buy new X-box.
I'll reserve judgment until the Dev's themselves for the PS4 make their position on restrictions known. The fact that it's optional means the coding is in the console OS and will just need match up code to become effective.
With Microsoft making it mandatory i would be very surprised to see the dev's opt out on the PS4. For them it would be a fairly dumb move not to restrict resale of their games on the PS4, but to do so on the XO. Of course the Wii U doesn't have this problem because no-one is making games for it.
Price is arbitrary in making a decision for a console. Both have basically all the same features, but the XO seems to include most extras in it's base model, which the PS4 does not. And we all know that if you wait 6 months you can get either console for 75% maybe even 50% if you look hard enough.
Really this decision should be based upon games, as they are games consoles. And then it comes down to exclusives, and which you prefer. When Sony lost GTA exclusivity it took a big hit though. It is pretty much down to personal preference, and for me it's XO at the moment (not that i'm going to get either anyway). The exclusives their seem more appealing and have more unique gameplay and ideas. Plus Minecraft...
As someone without a Blu-ray player or an internet TV this generation (not including the Wii U) offers a lot more to me than ever before, and justifies it's price tag. However i have a 360, it has great games. I have a laptop, it has great games. I am in no need for something new.
