The Secret Pro has posted another blog entry
https://cyclingtip...ret-pro-2/
Two big standout things:
1.
While I’m on the topic of Grand Tours, there’s talk going around the peloton that a former Grand Tour winner who’s about to be taken down for a biological passport irregularities. I can’t say who it is but when the news breaks you’ll know who I’m talking about. You can probably figure it out. It’s a good thing that’s he’s been found out; it shows that the biological passport is doing its job.
2. The Tour of Turkey organisers were so worried about having a second consecutive winner testing positive (which could threaten the future of the race), they offered Sayer a chance to abandon the race (presumably with an offer of money)

I wonder who he means with former Grand Tour winner. Sayer is pretty obvious, though |

Let the fun begin.

Former GT winner huh. Does Scarponi count as GT winner? Otherwise Cobo, that would be hilarious.

Just read the secret pro myself, fascinating stuff.
Main options for me on the GT winner are Cobo, Di Luca, Valverde, Scarponi...time will tell.
As for Turkey, if it's true, it just makes the whole situation 10 times worse. Yes he's suspicious but how does offering him money then having the guy conveniently bow out not create even more suspicion - hopefully it's just a rumour...

Half of the GT winners have been so shit this year. Cunego, Schleck, Cobo, Menchov. To a certain degree even Contador.

My money is on Menchov. Wasn't he a 9 on UCI's list from the Tour a few years ago?

Given the above, yes there are too many plausible options time will have to tell! |

Wasn't he working with Jesus in person to make sure he wouldn't do blood doping again? Maybe since Sassi died he went back to the dark side.
Di Luca is a good option as well. Another rider of the Pellizotti caliber (is/was a good rider, but no big name) to use as scapegoat. And I totally forgot Menchov was still riding. Then it's totally him.

Cobo is my guess. His values must have fluctuated a bit since winning the Vuelta. He's been horrible ever since |

Here's a full (?) list of possibles from those still racing:
GT winners (still riding): Basso,Cobo,Contador, Cunego,Di Luca,Evans, Garzelli,Hesjedal,Menchov, Nibali,Scarponi,A.Schleck, Valverde,Wiggins
Hmmm...forgot about Garzelli but sticking with Di Luca (possibly maybe).

Also I'm predictably very curious as to who the secret pro is. If the intro to the blog is right then we looking for an old, experienced hand, someone use their superior knowledge to give me a few names
"He is a Pro within the ranks of the top teams in world cycling. He has raced multiple Grand Tours, Classics and World Championships, and finished highly in some. We can also tell you that he will be frank and up-front with his opinions and views." |

He always reminds me of David Millar, but probably isn't
I hope its Cobo for the following reasons
1) He's Spanish, so won't actually get a ban
2) Froome will get a GT win
3) Which would lead to more of a fight for Tour leadership
4) Creating chaos
5) So they take more drugs
6) leading to both Chris and Brad leaving the sport in disgrace

Thats the best reason ever!
I personally agree with Luigi, but I also consider Garzelli (dont know why)

I think you can rule out Contador because he was caught fairly recently. It might still be someone who has doped in the past, but not that recent.
My money is on Cobo. But Wiggins or Schleck would be so fun! I'm hoping for a real bombshell, but it's probably going to be the most likely name.
