What happened to Valverde thought he was pushing top 3 with 500 to go then seemed to fade in a big way. |

Really nice ride by Kiserlovski. 1-2 in GC should be clear from now on. The battle for 3rd spot should be much better though.

Stick insects winning prologues. Yes, completely believable
Coming up next, Greipel to win a mountain finish

Yes, but barely. False flat. They wore TT gear (both helmets and bikes. Also those heavy disk wheels)
That said, Kiserlovski did very well. While he's decent in prologues, he's not this good.
EDIT: Wow Gesink that's awful. Beaten by Gianni freaking Meersman who can't TT at all
And Basso and Rolland were quite bad. Losing over a minute in a prologue.

Well, Hesjedal is even way worse
But I agree, beaten by Meersman is quite bad

Kreuziger was massively disappointing as well. If this is supposed to be a goal for him, I don't think he should be going slower than Antón in a TT. Not to mention Velits, 1'15 back.
Also, really bad from Larsson. He's clearly past his peak already.

Not really a route for him. Plus no Cancellara to follow.
Just looked through Gesink's timetrials since his crash (the big one with his leg) and they look weaker as before.

The uphill part played quite an imortant role. Hence why Martin, Boaro and Malori were not in Top 10.

He has done well in similar time trials before. For example: https://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/...ceid=12907
A bit more climby, but not too different.

You're right. Also did well in Lugano. Looking at him, you wouldn't say he is good in those prologues more someone for the longer TT's.

Some used road bikes, some extenders and some TT bikes. Was a real mix. It had 300m vertical gain in the 7.5km but with most of that in the last 2.5km. |

Was fairly uphill and twisty. Nothing like flat. Though i have to say lovely views along the road. |
