A solid result. Hopefully my team stays aggressive. Tolleson has a knack for good reaults, so maybe he can hold on to the top 20..

Ok, so mentions for riders between me, you and Kami are:
Bacardi 2
Santander 1
B&O 0
So you are in the lead at the moment, although I think I should get bonus points for getting 4 out of the 5 last riders on the stage.

Richeze really overperformed there. 3rd was more than I could ask for, so I'm pleased however it turns out now

Wow, that was bad.
Horrible chaos in that 5k to go shot, would've been easily possible to form a strong train in a good position there. Doesn't help to be fastest if you start 5 bike lenghts back.
I really hope the top speed is a sign of what to come in the remaining 3 stages, we can't afford to finish behind more than Swift and Boonen from now on.

Take that the "Its all about the Puma and Pokerstars sprint trains" belief
Okay, Pokerstars' train remains lethal - but thats to be expected when an 83 Sprint leads out an 84 Sprint! Happy to just sneak 2nd and start to build some bonus seconds - I think Swift will need a cushion of around 20 seconds going into the ITT to be safe from Cancellara in GC, so thats 12 down.

13th is better than on the first stage from Vanoverschelde. No idea where he came from to get 13th either, that might be a good sign. But it looks like he needs to be lucky with the positioning if he's going to get a top 10 here.
Congratulations to beagle again. Boonen looks to have another outstanding season! |

Intresting sprint. Seems like there is always one random guy who can sneek on the podium by being in the right wheel. Boonen's train looks strong though. Can't really see him losing the overal anymore.
And Bewley quite disapointing. Had expected him to challenge with Swift, Bennati and Boonen.

Boonen looks well set to win this, I'd prefer he keeps winning really and a mixture of riders finishing in 2nd and 3rd as then that's more people Fab can overtake in the final TT. Unless we get a really windy stage, this Pokerstars sprint train is going to be hard to beat.
MvS did a good job of finding the right wheel, he probably will not do better than 5th all week but I'm pleased he is here as he seems to be using Cancellara to get in a good position. This in turn is keeping Cancellara towards the front.
Bewley is really sucking, he unlike other sprinters doesn't have a generous race day allocation so he has three days to correct this, could he be this years Hagen?

Disaster, Echarri got far too many mentions in that report.

Great to see the microshirts have been helpful in the reports. I'm loving those desert screenshots.
Intense battle in the plains of Qatar. It'll be interesting to see the next chapters of Boonen vs Swift vs Bennati. It's also curious to see Lo Cicero intervene so much in the final meters.

Putting a man in the breakaway is clearly the way to go here - Another hopeless performance by Guerao with 12th. I can't only shiver with the thoughts of me spending so much money on him.

Ciolek improving with 9th, if it's going every stage like this then there might be a Top 5 placing soon.
But to be realistic he won't. I underrated the big challenge of the PT sprints, thinking Ciolek might have a chance.

He will have a chance. Just not in a race with EVERY top sprinter in the world in it. Riders such as Boonen and Bewley will be lacking in a lot of races because they will also be focussing on the cobbles. And to have the entire sprinting field spread out the top 10 sprinters will all get a chance to shine, but obviously having a top 5 sprinter would be very good at this point. I sincerely hope that Guerao will be the top sprinter in the spanish races, otherwise I wasted 3,2mio on him for nothing.

He doesn't have to face Bennati in the Vuelta (and I doubt Boonen or Swift either), so there's your chance

Hopefully... He will only have Sinner, Bernaudeau and Brus as leadout though, which might be a problem.

Guerao won two vuelta stages as a seventy nine sprinter, so I imagine he'll do ok as an eighty three

His positioning is absolutely shocking almost all the time he competes for my team.. I really should try harder to bring in some lead-out for him.. Otherwise he will probably suck hard time here and in Tirreno before classics will come..
