I'm glad you brought Van Loocke in. He brought in one of my few wins last season at Tour du Faso. Hopefully he can bring some success for you in C2.

It looks like we will see you in quite a few of your C1 races.

In especially the German National jersey is brilliant. A shame that I wasn`t able to sign him. Pfft

January Preview

Month of January and the beginning of the season, this first adventure the team hopes to enter with the right foot in the debut season, getting some outstanding results this month. For it will participate in four races, one in america (Classico San Cristobal) one in africa (Tour d'Algerie) and two in Asia (Tour Down Under and GP Kathmandu).

Clasico San Cristobal

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/2013%20Routes/ct_c2_clasicosancristobal.png

Squad:
Dietmar Mehr-Wenige
[team leader]
Rafael Reis
André Cardoso
Pedro Miguel Paulinho
Fredrik Strand Galta
Jorge Adelbo Soto Pereira
Gabor Kasa

Expectations:
Mehr-Wenige will obviously be our leader, this is a race where he has everything to obtain a optimal result. From what has been made known by other teams, almost all leaders will be present in Cuba which may hinder our task a bit. Cyclists Pedro Paulinho, Soto Pereira and Andre Cardoso will be the main support to our leader, and yet being the first race of the season to predict its outcome is almost a shot in the dark.

Tour Down Under

Squad:
Dietmar Mehr-Wenige
[team leader]
Jurgen Van Loocke
Fabio Silvestre
André Cardoso
Pedro Miguel Paulinho
Martyn Irvine
Jorge Adelbo Soto Pereira

Expectations:
Again all the hopes of the team passed on Mehr-Wenige, the start list is still far from being known but it is expected the presence of several quality cyclists. The 5th stage can be the most important point of the race and is a stage that fits our leader. Again Paulinho, Pereira and Cardoso will support the leader, while Irvine and Silvestre will help Van Loocke in case he has the opportunity to compete in some final sprint.

Tour d'Algerie

Profile:
Spoiler
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/2013%20Routes/ct_c2_tourdalgerie.png

Squad:
João Cabreira
[team leader]
Rafael Reis
Amaro Antunes
Artur Gajek
Fredrik Strand Galta
Gökhan Hasta
Joe Hicks

Expectations:
João Cabrera is our best climber and he will be our leader in this race. The present team is almost entirely built around him to protect as much as possible, only Artur Gajek being a sprinter will not work for Cabreira. Gajek will try to fight in arrivals on sprint, but will have to do it alone so do not expect much from him. Cabreira will fight in the final stage for a good classification but with already confirmed presences of Arroyo and Mestre think our aspirations may go on up to a maximum top 10.

André Cardoso
Pedro Miguel Paulinho
Jorge Adelbo Soto Pereira
Fredrik Strand Galta
Rohan Dennis
Gabor Kasa

Expectations:
Third race this month that Mehr-Wenige will be the leader of the team, this kind of classic does not seem to be the most ideal for him but nevertheless we believe it can bring out a good result. A top 5 would be something quite good and it will rely on our best men in this type of terrain to protect him.

Probably, but I consider Mora to be a danger because it finishes downhill and it has hills, and with his sprint, he should make danger. Im not saying he's the top favourite.

Adira starts season with the right foot

The season officially started for our team, and what better way to start than with a second place. Mehr-Wenige had a brilliant performance and failed for very little what would be the first victory of the team. The candidate list was long with Rodriguez and Sanchez (Iberia), Weening (Gazelle) are just some of the names able to get the victory. Weening was the main animator of the day and the one who tried to get over the victory. But in the end the work of Iberia eventually pay off and Rodriguez won the race. Our team worked for almost the entire race and was still able to finish with 3 runners in the top 25 besides Mehr-Wenige.
In summary the objectives set for this test were fully achieved and this 2nd place gets good perspectives for the rest of the season. The next race will be the Tour Down Under where he expects the Mehr-Wenige can shine again.

Tour Down Under comes to an end Alex Dowsett wins the race while Mehr-Wenige finishes in 7th place.

Our team was for this race being nowhere near a favorite to win whatever it was. But in fact that did not stop our riders to showcase their skills. It was with some surprise that in the very first stage the team appeared in front of the race working to achieve the break of the day.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/TdU2013/mg_TdU_2013_32.jpg
Adira riders working in front of the pack

This work was quite surprising since our sprinter would have no opportunity to discuss this stage with the competition in this race. As predicted the arrival was discussed to sprint, with Francesco Gavazzi (UPC Team) to victory and thus taking the lead. Our runners all came in the peloton and Martin Irvine was even better placed coming in 17th position, while the leader arrived in the 23rd.

With the 2nd stage came the first opportunity to be made some differences with the arrival to be placed on a small hill. Once again our team has not hid and went back to pass ahead of the pack, this time the work was in favor of Mehr-Wenige not disappoint and was able to finish the stage in 10th position after already at the end have chased a group of fugitives. Efimkin was the winner of day, and only 42 riders arrived in the front group, Gavazzi kept the lead.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/TdU2013/mg_TdU_2013_2_146.jpg
Mehr-Wenige pursuing the break

In the 3rd stage the team decided to leave the work to other teams, the arrival was discussed again by sprint with Heinrich Haussler to getting the better of the competition. Jurgen Van Loocke was our best man finishing in 27th position, Mehr-Wenige now occupied the 13th position overall.

4th stage and new arrival to sprint, Heinrich Haussler wins again but is Francesco Gavazzi that continues to lead the race. Mehr-Wenige ends at the platoon and down a place in the general classification. Again our sprinter can not even be present in the final sprint

Finally comes the day that everyone thought was decisive, with an arrival on the hill was an ideal opportunity to attack some cyclists to attack, and to see what our leader could do. No break could reach the end and the arrival was discussed by a group of 34 cyclists. The winner was Alex Dowsett who also took the lead, Mehr-Wenige was in great shape eventually arrive in 7th place after a tip late great level. This position allowed him to finally reach top10 overall.

Mehr-Wenige begins his final sprint

In the last stage much was yet to decide who would be the winner? And in the top10 could be many changes, everything would depend on the positions at the end of the day. As expected the stage was decide by sprint and for the first time our sprinter was involved in the decision of the stage.
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game/TdU2013/mg_TdU_2013_6_367.jpg
Van Loocke well positioned

Mitch Docker won the stage but that did not stop Alex to win the race. Van Loocke came close to conquer a new top10 for the team to finish in 11th position. Mehr-Wenige came in 21st position which allowed him to climb three places in general thus ending an excellent 7th position, being also the 2nd place in the young standings well above what would be expected at the start of this race.

Team News

The Tour d'Algerie is over and with a few surprises, Cabreira was 7th while Galta finished in 2nd place in the youth classification.

The Tour d'Algerie came to an end and our team was pretty good, though not to predict great things the truth is that we left this event with 35 points won and that help us build an excellent 3rd place this time of raking.
The first 4 stages were discussed in sprint as would be expected, Artur Gajek was our man for this type of arrivals. Although expectations were low the truth is that his performance was positive, having been almost always near the top10. His best ranking was 11th in the 4th stage.
i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m537/Alakagom/PCM0047.jpg
Gajek attempts to reach the top 10

Arriving to the last stage and everything was still undecided as to the general classification, Marzano, Moreno and Arroyo were by far the top favorites will win the stage and overall. But that has not stopped others tried their luck in the end it was Julian Rodas who won the stage but still has not given the final victory. This was for Daniel Moreno who ultimately benefited a few seconds gains in the previous stages.

Cabreira close to finish the race

Our riders were very good and João Cabreira then actually finish the stage in 6th position, thereby ending in the same place in the standings. Totally amazing was the arrival of Strand Galta in 16th place and earning him the 18th overall and also 2nd place in the classification of youth.

Adira-Isq celebrates first victory in Nepal

Was run today in Nepal, the GP Kathmandu that ended in the best way for our team. Our leader Dietmar Mehr-Wenige won the final victory, beating the sprint Samuel Sanchez and Peter Weening.
It was a much disputed race with several riders to try their luck still far from arrival. Ilias Perikles was perhaps the main animator of the day trying several times to leave the peloton but without success. Our team together with Team Gazelle were controlling the whole race and at the end were the three main candidates to get the jump peloton.

Arrived in the last three kms were able to discuss the victory, Sanchez gave everything trying to take advantage the descent to the finish line. Yet was not enough to get beating Wenige-Mehr, who thus celebrated the first victory ever of the team, and ends the month of January in the best way.

February Preview

After a month of January that the team ran very well, the expectations for this month are fairly minor, the competition that we will face in the three races will be much higher. Yet hope to achieve results that bring points to the team and once again we have Mehr-Wenige for that.

Squad:

Artur Gajek
Mohamed Harrif Salleh
Rohan Dennis
Pedro Miguel Paulinho
Jorge Adelbo Soto Pereira

Expectations:
First race where the team part without any expectations, and also without any leader assumed at the start. The triple Gajek, Harrif Salleh an Irvine will be our weapon for the sprint, but with the presence of the PCT teams will be very difficult to get any result from registration. But a top10 of stage would not be bad. Also Irvine is our hope for the and Soto Pereira will probably will be our best man in GC, a top20 is probably the best he can hope.

Expectations:
Mehr-Wenige and Artur Gajek will race at home, so we hope that it brings some advantage. For Mehr-Wenige not be too harmed by the timetrials, we took some of our best men in these disciplines. But a top10 should be the maximum we can achieve.

Gisborne GP

Expectations:
For this race had high expectations but they diminished after knowing that it will be one of the the most crowded. Many PCT teams will be present and it decreases our chances of victory, and still not knowing who will be present expect another top 10 of Mehr-Wenige.
