First move on the transfer market
The first new rider to sign with Project 1t4i for the 2013 season was the Romanian youngster, George Alexandru Stancu. Since this will be his first contact with the world or professional cycling, the Pro Tour might be a hat too big for him so he'll spend the season with Swedbank - PEAB, a Pro Continental team, as a loan, where we hope he will gather some valuable experience.

Cornu says goodbye
After 3 wonderful years spent with the team, Dominique Cornu felt it was time for a change. The Belgian Champion signed with one of the most popular teams in Belgium, Team Bpost.
Concerning his move, Dominique had to say "The years spent with Jack Wolfskin were amazing, but every good thing ends at some point and this was the end of ours. I can't wait to get back into the Continental Tour and prove myself once again and I'm glad that a team like Bpost offered me this opportunity".
When asked about the competition in the CT, Cornu said: "I've heard both Zabriskie and Michael Rogers will be there. But they don't scare me. I've raced against them before and I have no problem doing it again".
Making the move the other way around and joining Project 1t4i from Bpost is Jelle Vanendert. Both parties hope that Vanendert will enjoy a successful season as a luxury domestique for Robert Gesink.

First big signing for 2013
With Ruben Plaza leaving, we made it no secret that we will be searching for a new stage racer to represent us in Grand Tours and we are proud to announce that we have found what we were looking for in Peter Velits.
The Slovakian rider rode for Pearl Adidas last years so he knows exactly how tough the racing in the Pro Tour is. As he was leaving the negotiations, Peter Velits was hear saying "They've told me that Il Giro is a big goal this year, but if my legs will let me I want to be at the Tour as well".
Peter Velits is looking ahead to a great season

Kreder has found a new home as well
Surprisingly, Michel Kreder was one of the most wanted riders from our team by the PCT managers. It seems like his stage win in last year's Vuelta a Colombia impressed a lot of people.
The best offer came from Swedbank - PEAB, which managed to secure Kreder's services for 2013. There, the Dutchman will meet with our current rider George Alexandru Stancu and hopefully he will teach the young Romanian a few useful tricks.

Julien Simon joins Project 1t4i
We entered the transfer season with two goals: to sign Cavendish and improve our hills department. And since the dream of signing Mark Cavendish was ruined quite quickly, it was time to focus on the second one.
After signing Jelle Vanendert, we are proud to announce the signing of a new puncheur - the Frenchman Julien Simon. Julien is a very good rider over the hills [and far away] and also has a nice sprint, which might give him a stage win or two. Same as Vanendert, his main job will be to help Robert Gesink throughout the season.

A new leader for La Vuelta
With Florencio and Zubeldia leaving the team during renewals and with Plaza's departure being a sure thing, we announced that we won't sign any Spanish riders for 2013. But that changed as soon as Luis Leon Sanchez became available. And since his team, Prio Porto, was interested in signing Ruben Plaza, making a deal was rather easy.
When asked about his plans for 2013, Luis Leon said: "It will be hard to get used to ride in a team where Spanish isn't a main language, but I already know Robert [Gesink] and [Laurens] Ten Dam from the France TV/Rabobank days. In fact our former team - mate, Jan Bakelants is the man to beat this year, but with my help and a strong team tactic I think Robert can beat him. I'll probably spend most of the season as a luxury domestique for our leader, but I do hope I'll get a few chances to prove myself as well. Paris - Nice and La Vuelta have routes designed for my abilities".
And since we already broke our promise of not signing any Spaniards, we decided to bring someone that would help Sanchez with the change - the young hope Jonathan Castroviejo. Jonathan is coming from Festina, where 2 of our former riders will be heading: Jason Donald and Mauricio Ardila. The last one did in fact joined our team from Festina last year, and since he will be going back we can only assume that he loves SotD as a manager.
LuLu is back in the Pro Tour

Very nice move for Lulu, you have a cool squad now with getting rid of older leaders and acquiring Velits and Sanchéz.

Thanks. The leaders look a little bit stronger than in the previous seasons and now I have a few riders that aren't maxed out as well.
Also, I think Velits is my only chance to ever convince you into selling Grosu

Well, you might be right, he can be one of the few must have riders for me in the man-game. Future will tell, one never knows
Meanwhile, good luck with him and Lulu.

More names leaving the team
With 5 riders already getting used their new teams, it's time to announce the departure of another 4 riders.
We should start with Marcel Sieberg, who was supposed to stay with the team for another year as he received the promise that he'll get to lead-out Mark Cavendish, which wasn't the best move by the team's management. But with the sprints not being a focus at all for 2013 we decided to let Marcel follow his own ambitions in the Continental Tour, where he will be riding for Volskwagen Mapei. Sieberg has been a very important part of the team since the very beginning and we can only wish good luck in his future goals.
Next we have Sylvain Chavanel a big part of the team in 2012, but his salary demands forced him out of the team. He has found a new team on an another continent as he'll ride for AMEXpc in 2013.
The latest time - trialist to leave the team is Dennis Van Winden, who has signed a new contract with the new ProContinental Dutch team, ING, a former co-sponsor of our team.
As announced after the renewals, one of our cobblers will have to leave the team and as a result Klaas Sys has signed for 2013 with the new Continental Team Kappa - ENI.

Preparing for the future
With the leaders for the new season already joining the rest of the team in training camps, we focused on signing younger riders who will develop into good quality riders in maximum two years.
The first name on our list is the Dutch youngster Wesley Kreder. He is our second rider from the Kreder family, after Michel, who rode for the team in 2011 and 2012. Wesley loves the hills and fast finishes and the team is sure he will develop into a nice punchysprinter.
A rather important name on our list was the Spanish sprinter Jon Aberasturi, who already has a nice speed, but still has plenty of room left for improvement. Next year we could see him battling for stage wins in La Vuelta's sprint finishes.
Next we have Rafel Majka, one of the best and most known riders from Poland. Majka was born to climb and hopefully he will develop into a nice mountain domestique.
In the climbing department, Project 1t4i have made the first exotic signing in the team's history as Mohammad Saufi Mat Senan will ride in our jersey in 2013. The Malaysian rider is still very young and yet to reach his full potential.
Staying in the climbing zone, Johannes Frohlinger has also signed a contract with Project 1t4i for 2013. The German loves uphill sections and he will be a great helper for our leaders even though many fear he has already reached his peak.
Yesterday evening a very interesting deal has been made as Matteo Trentin will spend one season with us, being loaned from Team UPC. Trentin has a great experience in junior and youth races, but he needs a season with the big guns to improve his skills. He'll be a great asset on the cobbles and potentially in a few sprints. Rumor has it that a deal which resembles the Trentin one is set for Markus Fahnert as well.

Last move on the market
Today the team managed to obtain the signing of one of our biggest targets for this transfer season - Ramon Sinkeldam. Sinkeldam is a very talented young Dutch rider who is made for classics. The Dutchman can ride well on both cobbles and hills, which makes him a possible future Ronde Van Vlaanderen winner.
With this latest transfer and the deal for Fahnert being now confirmed, our transfer season is official over.
