EDIT: Checking out the startlist, and really liking that Swiss squad. Cancellara and Albasini can make stuff happen, and Elminger, Schar, and Rast are a solid crew to set them up. Behind Germany, GB, Belgium, and Slovakia, they might be my #5 choice to pull something off, even ahead of Rojas, Valverde, and LL for Spain, Chavanel for France, and the Boom, Langeveld, Terpstra, Westra horsepower factory for the Dutch.
EDIT 2.0: My dream though, meet your new Olympic Gold Medalist, from the great nation of Belarus, Yaureni Hutarovich!!!
Biggest problem for Slovakia is that Sagan is riding alone, that is huge disadvantage right before the race starts. Hopefully they will help themselves with czech duo, but i expect Keuziger going to the late attack and Sagan waiting for the sprint, with Barta maybe going with early attack, that is his style.

I was looking at the US' awful team by the way, and was trying to come up with who will be riding for us four years from now. To be honest, I can't help but notice how horrid the US' future is at the moment. I mean, the golden generation is leaving (Levi, Hincapie, Horner, VDV, Danielson, etc), and although we have a few really good GT (EDIT: meant GC) prospects (TJ, Andy Talansky, and Joe Dombroski, the last having come up through the same juniors team as I did), other than that we have just about no one. The current generation of guys in their prime is pretty pathetic. Tim Duggan and Tyler Farrar are just about it. I mean, Phinney doesn't seem like he'll ever get beyond a second tier TTist and cobbles rider, and we don't have any riders coming up through the U23 ranks that seem like they have the potential to become anything more than decent. I mean, is Lawson Craddock really that good?
Here, check out our current CQ rankings:
27. Levi
39. TJ
86. Farrar
93. Horner
102. Phinney
128. Danielson
172. DZ
181. Vande Velde
190. Talansky
330. Reijnen (who says you can't rack up CQ points at the Tour of Korea)
334. Dugan
349. Hincapie
389. Stetina
495. Keough
I mean, those are the only guys in the top 500. We could be looking at multiple GT titles in the next ten years and literally nothing else. Shameful.
EDIT: I guess you could argue that other than Lemond and young Lance we've never had any great riders who weren't only GC types (depends on your feelings as to whether Big George was great or very very good, and I'd go the latter). We have had some second class sprinters (elder Phinney) and what not, but come to think of it our top riders ever are the aforementioned Lemond and Lance, plus Andy Hampsted, all GC guys. So who knows.
Those look like decent rankings to me. I mean, what do you expect. e have TJ, Talansky, ohinney, Dombrowski, and don't forget Ian Boswell. The USA isn't a big cycling county, so what can you expect?
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Should be on red button or live stream from the BBC website (Source: met one of the guys who's doing the technical side for the BBC. Every event will be recorded and streamed in its entirety)

Completely not true. Here in the MABRA region, which isn't exactly known as a hotbed of cycling, we'll have 200-300 people race on a given day, and often people are left waiting to get in.
I'm willing to bet that we have more people race at an amateur level in the US than any of France, Italy, Spain, etc. do, when you consider how big of a nation we are. I'll maybe give you that it isn't as popular from a young age, which granted is most relevant to youth development, but even still, when you actually look at the lack of depth of quality we produce, it's pretty mind-boggling.

Do you guys have cycling as a "school sport" like American Football, Baseball and Basketball and so on.?

No. California has MTBing as a school sport, and I was able to use my cycling as gym credits, but at the high school level. No.
That might just be the problem, recruting wise. They dont get to do it within the school system and theirfor they dont? I dont know, in Norway we dont have any School sports, you have to do it outside school. So theirfor a lot more kids do ride bikes within teams.

Hopefully, and I'll be able to say I was once shot a nasty glance by a future GT winner while heckling him during a cross race. 'Cmon' Joe, you're only up by what, thirty seconds? What is this?'
The road race will be from one man. Peter Sagan. And I can tell you that he is going to sprint away from everybody else, with 100 metres to go, he will do a Michael Jackson dance and if he has time (which he will) he will also do the Macarena After that he will tell the interviewers (with his amazing English) that 'he only think about bike.'

I'm not sure what the latest figures are, but 10 years ago there were circa 15 000 road riders here, on a global population of 60 millions people.
Nowadays, it might be 12 000 and 65 millions, something like that.
Not sure how it compares to USA or other "cycling countries".

Maybe on BBC1
However, BBC are Broadcasting, I think it's 24 exclusive Olympic channels on freeview. Men's Road Race is on BBC Olympics 3 in full.

Yeah it was told it was to be on BBC1, then we won the tour!
The 24 olympic channels are only acessable on tv is you have sky, freesat or virgin type thing
otherwise its to the internet
