Wow my team went from 3rd at the first intermediate point to 4th from the bottom at the finish. I guess we're back to our crappy old form.
However, given our usual breakaway inefficiency, I must admit Carvalho's 3rd place in the last stage is a pretty good result by our standards.
Anyway this is shaping up to an interesting last stage with the top of the GC still completely messed up. I'm looking forward to it.

Crazy stage and a great report! I loved reading it, eventhough we weren't really active, though, that was quite as predicted when the top guns decided to play it that way, we simply didn't have strength. Overall a good race for us, with a great stage win for Nordhaug.
Congratulations to Bianchi and Rin, magnificent Queen stage for them, and I'll guess Mresuperstar is happy about Anton too

The two Spanish riders there produced something special to deny the really big favourites.
It did look like it would be messy and so it proved, that is where team strength can pay - absurdly Bianchi could possible be slight disappointed in a way as a little more animation may have bagged them more GC points. Still I cannot see Rin complaining.
It's good really for JRB as well to see Pokerstars, Pirelli, T.CS Bank and Volkswagen underperforming to varying degrees. It's interesting to see Trilux, Aker Solutions and Venchi still definately in the promotion hunt after this.

You have a top leader and 9 times out of 10 that's fine and they deliver to their potential, but that tenth time, attacks go from way out, and suddenly you wish you had much stronger domestiques.

It's incredible - for how long will VDB continue this mess ?? It's acceptable that he can't follow Rujano, but to be beaten by so many riders, who are clearly under his level on paper just isn't good enough.
If he and Roche had turned up this year, then the team could had been fighting for promotion, but I guess that will have to wait for next year.

If it was adressed to me, I must point out that you´re definitely right about domestics. On the other hand, Rujano already underperformed several times this season (mainly together with VdB).
As already calmed down, it´s time to thank SN for great reporting

Did that happen? Lloret is a monster, I didn't expected a GC win from him as there are a lot better climbers then him. I just wrote for him before the season Top 5 at the Vuelta a Burgos.
The only thing I could complain about is that the game doesn't handle multiple as strong as leaders well. I mean De la Fuente crashes down GC wise, also Vantournhout. De la Fuente could have attacked when Rujano or Ratiy went and just hanging on with them.

Hesjedal as 11th obviously with a super day. Unfortunately the TTT went totally wrong for us, so no influence in the GC. |

I don't even know what to say after that. What a ride from Lloret and Anton, but Branchi could have stop being so greedy and just gave Anton the stage because GC was all his. Because everyone knows it was Anton who did all the work Just kidding, congrats Rin.

Didn't expect that sort of performance from Niemiec! A very nice surprise!
Nice move from Lloret too. Congrats to Rin!

What a great final stage here, great reports SN, surely Bianchi can't be caught now. |

What a surprising stage. Nicácio was great. His best performance of the whole season by far. This must have been frustrating for Pirelli and Pokerstars however, but the race was nuts since Anton and Lloret's attacked, so there wasn't much they could do unless they had better domestiques.
Great reporting SN. Really loved those pics in the last climb.

Really good result for Stetina against solid competition.
If Pirelli are dissatisfied with VDB let me know during the transfer window

Prioritising promoton over winning the division then?
