France ? Our key players have shown signs of improvement individually, but we've got some uncertainties on the health of a couple of them.
Blanc's sides have never really been convincing, though we've defeated some big names in friendly games.
It seems he's having pressures from the board to turn the team into a counter-attacking team (which is reasonably the better thing to do to grab a decent final result when you're an underdog), and to give up all that had been his mission so far, aka "never mind the results (just secure the minimum), we want to see the team play", which arguably didn't work too well anyway. |

Oh God, what a rubbish match from Portugal, brilliant 0-0 result against the powerful Macedonia. And this Quaresma is terrible aswell. What happened to the Quaresma that played in Sporting and Porto? Ever since he was transferred to Inter, he's been declining, at least in the national team. |

remember the poule of death?
Netherlands - Bulgaria 1-2
Suisse - Germany 5-3
Portugal - Macedonia 0-0
Brazil - Denmark 3-1
Interesting. They all look crappy to me. Netherlands was boring me to hell today. Germany can't defend. Portugal well... LOL
And Denmark just lacks class |

Netherlands is the most disappointing. They fielded their strongest XI and failed. Germany tried some of the younger players. Denmark: As expected. Portugal: overrated

they didn't field their strongest XL. Stekelenburg wasn't playing. Robben only last 15 minutes and Affelay not in yet (he will 90% certainly play if fit)
And Matthijssen was replaced after 15 minutes by the terrible wilfred bouma (i don't know why he is selected, he had a terrible season)
They played a very slow pace though
Anyway, they are still preparation matches but it doesn;t look good. Of the 5 last matches they only won 1 game,.

I stand corrected then. I just read that in an article

Still you have RvP, he will win it for you

Germany played indeed pretty crappy, especially the defense is really worrying me. ALthough you have to see that the Bayern players weren't there yet and yesterday's team has never played together before (and most probably won't ever again).
Still, it's really a problem that we only have one top class wingback. Löw has still a lot of work to do...

Prediction time:
Group A
1. Poland
2. Russia
3. Czech Republic
4. Greece
Poland and Russia will be a class above, with home support Poland will top the group.
Group B
1. Denmark
2. Germany
3. Holland
4. Portugal
Sounds crazy, but really isn't. Germany can't defend, Holland have been pretty poor and Portugal were absymal in every qualifier except the last. Denmark are a talented, relatively young team and they won't fear so should surprise.
Group C
1. Spain
2. Ireland
3. Croatia
4. Italy
More madness. Spain are running out of steam gradually, and their big players have been playing a lot this year, but they should get through. Italy are in decline, and I expect them to struggle while Ireland will sneak under the radar to get through ahead of Croatia.
Group D
1. England
2. France
3. Sweden
4. Ukraine
I fancy England, as they won't set the world alight but just keep it steady. France are good, but have injury doubts and therefore they might not be able to beat England, while Sweden will run both England and France close. Ukraine will be cannon fodder, too much reliance on an aging Shevchenko.
Quarter Finals
Poland v Germany
I'll go with Germany, stronger team but I expect it'll be close.
Denmark v Russia
Denmark to win this one, pretty comfortably unless Russia play the attacking game they did at the last Euros. Then it'll be anyone's guess.
Spain v France
France should beat Spain, as Spain will be a tired team who after a great past few years have nothing left.
England v Ireland
It may sound mad, but I'd back Ireland. England are likely to bottle it here, and the Irish will be super confident should they get out of their group.
Semi Finals
Denmark v France
I wouldn't like to say, but if I had to choose then Denmark could pull off a shock. If they've got this far, then they'll have confidence behind them and I can't see France holding their nerve.
Germany v Ireland
Germany should win this comfortably. Ireland will give it a go, but I doubt it.
Final
Denmark v Germany
I expect Germany in a high scoring game to edge it. Or maybe not.
Yep, if your Danish or German I've just screwed you over. |

I think it will be an all Group B final, but don't know which two I would send through.

My predictions:
Group A
1. Russia
2. Poland
3. Greece
4. Czech Republic
I don't expect the Czechs to go through to the next round, as they don't seem to have a team like they used to. Poland's home factor will be determinant for their success, so I believe, aswell as having a decent team, they can pass to the quarters along with Russia. Greece... well, their manager doesn't convince me, at all, but they have a slight chance.
Group B
1. Germany
2. Netherlands
3. Denmark
4. Portugal
Portugal's been shit, and shit they will remain. We will lose every match, I believe. Gomez and Van Persie will be important for their teams, Denmark won't be strong enough to qualify for the quarters.
Group C
1. Spain
2. Croatia
3. Ireland
4. Italy
Believe it or not, I think Italy will fail. I'm predicting they'll end up with one point. Croatia have a nice team, and they should easily get past Ireland. Spain, as the current champions, they've got motivation to renew it, and a far better side.
Group D
1. Ukraine
2. Sweden
3. England
4. France
Again, I don't think Blanc can manage to take France any further than the group stage. Home factor another bonus for Ukraine. England, with their team, I don't think they'll get through, either. Sweden, well, for me, they can pass, only if they play a nice football.
Quarters
Russia-Netherlands
Poland-Germany
Spain-Sweden
Croatia-Ukraine
Semis
Germany-Spain
Netherlands-Croatia
And then, we have the re-edition of the WC 2010 final.

The defense against Switzerland wasn't close to the defense that will play at the Euros, Lahm was missing, also Badstuber and Boateng..
Mertesacker wouldn't play even if he is at 100% and Hummels isn't ready to play at such a high level (at the moment), thats why Dortmund isn't international good enough like they went out last at the Champions League, can't figure out why the Dortmund fans say they should play at the Euros when they failed miserably at the Champions League.
The big problem is who is the other wing player in the defense..
No matter Lahm is playing left or right, at every position there isn't someone at a good level. The only player that could play there was Friedrich but after the good WC 2010, the injuries took him out..
The other positions should be clear and like at the WC 2010 with:
Klose
Podolski/Özil/Müller
Schweinsteiger/Khedira
Lahm/Badstuber/Boateng/???
Neuer

@jph27
You can't possibly believe that yourself can you?
My prediction. Group A is extremely open, and I have to believe that Poland can get through here. I don't think Russia will go through though, but I'm doubting between Czech and Greece, while in this prediction I will go for the Czech Republic.
Group A:
1. Poland
2. Czech Republic
3. Greece
4. Russia
In group B, I doubt Denmark will make it through, and I really can't look beyond those strong teams. Holland vs. Portugal will be close, and probably decisive. I have gone with Portugal here though.
Group B:
1. Germany
2. Portugal
3. Holland
4. Denmark
Group C is for me a 9, 6, 3, 0 group. I can't believe Ireland has what it takes, and Croatia won't battle the top nations, and in my book Italy is written all over the championship.
Group C:
1. Italy
2. Spain
3. Croatia
4. Ireland
Group D will be interesting. England and France got the upperhand, but I don't think they will both go through. Ukraine seems to be sucking bollocks these days, so despite of them being on home soil, I think they might be this tournaments prügelknape.
Group D:
1. France
2. Sweden
3. England
4. Ukraine
Quarter finals:
Poland - Portugal might be extremely close, but I think the Ronaldo/Nani compilation will win them the game. Germany is much better than the Czech, while Italy is a better tournament team than Sweden and Spain beats France at any time.
Poland - Portugal
Czech Republic - Germany
Italy - Sweden
Spain - France
Semis:
Portugal will run their head against the wall, and Italy wins the game 1-0 or 2-0 with a late scorer. Germany has the upperhand on Spain here due to playing in Poland, and as such they will get trough - Also they play some beautiful football from time to another.
Portugal - Italy
Spain - Germany
And Italy will be the winner by penalty or late goal

netherlands have exactly the same problem.. only 1 good wingback (Vd Wiel) and a worrying defence
Netherlands-Germany will probably be 4-6 as score |

Group A
1. Russia
2. Poland
3. Czech Rep.
4. Greece
Not much to say. Russia is the strongest here and Poland will go through thanks to home support.
Group B
1. Germany
2. Denmark
3. Portugal
4. Netherlands
Netherlands will lose all matches since they have been shit lately and Van Marwijk lost it with his selection already. Willems or Bouma as left back is hilarious and other teams will piss all over our defense. Plus many of the 2010 stars have had bad seasons so I can only see failure unless RVP has a miracle week.
Portugal is as shit as us but will luck their way through the match against us to at least secure a 3rd place and go out as well..
Denmark has a nice selection and play good football but Germany will be too powrefull. 2nd place for them
Group C
1. Spain
2. Croatia
3. Italy
4. Ireland
Spain to go through without impressing. Croatia to play good football but lack the confidence against Spain. Italy to try hard but fail yet again. And Ireland, they lack the football qualities to make it through.
Group D
1. France
2. England
3. Sweden
4. Ukraine
I saw Sweden lose 4-0 to us in the ArenA so they seem to be much to poor to go through. Sure they beat us when we were already qualified but that was more luck than anything else. Can't see them pass France/England unless Zlatan has a Zlatan-day. Ukraine is unlucky to be in this group and will finish dead last. England will lose to France and finish 2nd.
Quarters
Russia-Denmark
Poland-Germany
Spain-England
Croatia-France
Russia beats Denmark after succesfully countering them the whole match.
Germany will have a close one against Poland but Gomez will pull them through.
Spain has no opposition from England who go out without any glory. And finally Croatia posts a shock win against France...
Semis
Germany-Spain
Russia-Croatia
Spain shows it's no longer the team it was 2010 and Özil, Mueller and Gomez rip them apart. 3-1. Croatia shock Russia with a nice win to reach the finals
Finals..
Germany take it with an impressive play of offensive football like they have been doing the past few years now |

Group A
1. Poland
2. Russia
3. Greece
4. Czech Rep.
Poland has a couple of very classy players. Add to that the home advantage and they should get through. I don't believe in the Czech Rep. at all, so it should be between Russia and Greece. I can't quite estimate them, but I think I go with Russia...
Group B
1. Germany
2. Netherlands
3. Portugal
4. Danmark
I'm very sure about Germany and Netherlands here. Both are too good, and I don't think Portugal and Danmark have much of a chance.
Group C
1. Spain
2. Italy
3. Croatia
4. Ireland
I don't believe in an Irish surprise. Spain won't show any weakness, whereas Italy has made the change, I think, to a young, ambitious and talented squad. Things could change, though, if the betting scandal spreads out.
Group D
1. France
2. England
3. Ukraine
4. Sweden
In my opinion, this is the most uncertain group. I don't really believe in England but they should make it due to their relatively high individual class. Same goes for France although I estimate them higher than England.
Quarters:
Poland vs. Netherlands
Spain vs. England
Russia vs. Germany
France vs. Italy
Spain and Germany to go through rather easily. Poland and Italy should have good chances but I'm going to go with Netherlands and France.
Semis
Netherlands vs. Spain
Germany vs. France
I know, it's a boring prediction, but I just can't see anyone beating Spain or Germany. Well, except for each other.
Final
Germany vs. Spain
After two defeats, it's just time. The German team has developed a lot since 2010 and Löw will have the right tactics to take the win here.
