Stage 1
It was clear that Sømme would be Sky's man in a sprint, he rode in the front half of the peleton with countryman Arvesen protecting him all day. Sky also did most of the work keeping the break at a safe distance. HTC took over in the last kms because they have a crazy sprint team including Cavendish.
But HTC's train failed, and with 400 metres left it was Petacchi with his train at the front. Then Renshaw did an amazing job to pull Goss-Cavendish to the front of the race with 300 metres to go! Sømme had the wheel of Greipel right besides Cavendish.
Sømme and Greipel started way to early and ended way back, Cavendish had nothing left, so Petacchi took the victory in front of Bosic. Sømme finished 13th. Both Miniatas Konovalovas, Evgeiy Mazlov and James Rouleur finished safely in the pack.
Stage 2
Big break, 14 riders. HTC, Lampre, Omega Pharme reeled them in. Ready for sprint. Sømme was far behind as the sprint started. Sømme with a strong finish got 10th. Farrar won.
1. Farrar
2. Petacchi
3. Cavendish
........
10. Sømme
........
22. Rouleur

Stage 3
Hilly end to today's stage, maybe we will see Rouleur try a late attack? If it comes to a mass sprint Sømme will have a fair chance because of his good hill stats.
8kms to go, break of 13 1'30 ahead. Sømme is working at the front so he will not be the man for Sky today. And with 7 kilometres left Rouleur gives it a go!
He rides with Voigt and van Avermaet with 3 kilometres left, but the break seems too far ahead. Rouleur is caught, but the victory is to be decided in the break. Kadri is unbeatable and crushes his opponents, Valls is second. Sømme actually is second in the peloton, behind his teammate Uran. Rouleur celebrates his teammate's win as he crosses the finishline, maybe his late attack disrupted the chase so they weren't caught?
1. Kadri
2. Valls
3. I.Konovalovas
......
15. Sømme
21. Rouleur

Stage 4
Rouleur tried to get in an early break today. He also fought for the only KOM points of the day with Roy, but came second. 13 men was in the break when it established, including James Rouleur. However the break looked like it stood no chance, as the peloton was 2'25 behind with 45 kilometres to go. 20 kilometres, 1 minute. 18 kilometres, Rouleur goes! There are strong winds now, and only Kuschynski can follow! 10 kilometres left, Rouleur and Kuschynski under a minute ahead, HTC and Lotto wants a mass sprint!
Eisel-Renshaw-Goss-Cavendish looks unbeatable and botth Farrar and Petacchi are on their wheels. With three and a half kilometres to go, the remainders of the breakaway, including James Rouleur are swept up by the pack, Cavendish's train is just wrecking everything else. Sømme is again poorly placed and cant fight for a good placement today.
In the end, Petacchi is unbeatable, Cav is second and Robbie Hunter is third. Petacchi now 16 seconds ahead of Cavendish, Farrar and Kadri in the GC.
1. Petacchi
2. Cavendish
3. Hunter
.......
23. Sømme

Stage 5
Short summary of stage 5 as I lost what I wrote.
Nothig really happened today, Lastras won from a break of five. Farrar and Fernandez took the other podium spots. No time gaps. Sømme, Rouleur and Mazlov was involved in a crash at the downhill from Willunga right before the finish, thay lost almost five minutes. Only one positive thing for our riders today: Miniatas Konovalovas showed strenght working for Robbie Hunter up Willunga.
1. Lastras
2. Farrar
3. Fernandez

Yeah, Rouleur had a shot at a good GC placement, but he was extremely poorly placed in the peloton at Willunga...
