2 Top 10's from Martinez on sprints that don't really suit him, can't complain about that. He's got on the end of the right train both times, just doesn't have the kick to do any better. |

Congratulations to Ember with another fine win, though Cerne should be a bit disappointed in Santos' choice to start the sprint perhaps a bit too early!
Also nice to see former rider Pietropolli showing himself in the breakaway.

The season has started in the most unexpected way for our team, two sprint wins. Now comes the crucial thing though, and if Alarcon is going to win this race, I fear he has to take serious time on stage 4, as his backup stats aren't good, and he will suffer the longer out in the race we get. |

Ember, I wouldn't be surprised if Alarcon makes it three out of three for you in the next stage.

Matteo Carrara is after the points jersey.
It's a pity Jørgensen hasn't got himself into the leaders jersey. Would have been cool to see Alarcon try and pace him up the climbs. |

"Surprises" on the sprint stages, so maybe surprises in the mountains? - Probably not.
Cerne must really feel fooled here. They still have a chance. |

another third by Sabatini and keeping the leaders jersey Gotta be happy with that, seems like a good idea to throw in a sprinter here, as I knew I would be high after the TT, and he got me (if I did the math right, 24 "free points" (Aaen got 40)). Now it's time for Ratiy to get high in the GC and young riders competition (too bad Alarcon will take both :-p)
Gogo Ratiy!

Too bad that my team doesn't recognize Dennis as a sprinter as he is one in my team but also in my opinion, maybe still too weak for the field
Instead Lloret finishes in 16th Oo

I wider if the attack inthe dying kilometers had much to do with it? Wearing out the sprint train and all.
Congrats again!

I guess the Cal Giant move probably did force Cerne into an earlier sprint, as Viviani ended up coming forward sooner than Stage 2 - but ultimately they didnt go early enough anyway, as Jorgensen still got it from some way back.

Oh no, not again.
I really need to have a talk with Santos, he's still too young to become a Boonen. On the other hand Viviani's inexperience might have been decisive as well. I hope tomorrow's stage may provide the relieving factor the boys need.
Anyway congrats ember, Jorgensen sure knows about positioning in mass sprints.

For those who don't know, the stage is unfolding live on twitter with the #mgtachira hashtag.

Well. Team WWE could have performed much worse, really.

Well I'm happy, could have been better but I will live. Not like we didn't know who was going to win.

I am surprised that Alarcon haven't made up to 2 minutes on this stage
Awaiting the 6th stage and the MTT, maybe a breakaway on the 5th stage?
I was said that at PCM10 and 11, breakaway wins are more likly then at the previous PCMs

Cattaneo already showed great quality in his first pro race.
Always in the right groups and top20 in the end. Definitely a surprise for me. |

Decent performance by Castaño, neither fantastic or bad.
The team looked very strong all day and that will be important if Castaños rivals for the podium will attack a long way out from the finish line. Alarcon seems unbeatable but anything can still happen and if Castaño is only around one minute after the Venezuelan before the 2 last stages, then there is a tiny hope for overall glory!
I don't believe it will happen though

Very happy with that stage. Eastman looks very strong and i think now my best hope will be 3rd here.
btw those Jerseys in the reports are a great addition, they make the mountain stages easier to follow. (with all the gaps to record) |

Was good to see Martinez and Ochoa Quintero go with the initial attacks from the favorites, but that was probably why they ended up finishing quite low down.
Don't think that I'll make my goal of Top 5 though.
I also agree that the little jerseys make the reports much better! |
