Nice new sponsor name, and of course jersey!
Interesting that you drop Gadret. Bad season, but arguably the best suited for PT rider you have. Presumably though his wage is the problem.
Youve already got the support in place for a PT team, no doubt youll have fun trying to find some leaders

After hearing the news that the Simply Red-Bull management had enquired about the availability of signing Maxim Burlutskiy on loan from PFG - Armavia, Bjartne hesitated a bit, but after a while he answered;
"We appreciate that our guys have been discovered by a ProTour-Team. That proves we did something right in Division 2. But allthough I agree a year in the PT would be huge for Maxim and the fact that he would most probably boost his experience and quality, we find it hard to let him go now, simply because he is the most important core from what we knew from "old Armavia" and we would like to continue working with him in the PCT. If he could mantain the effort he gave last season, we are sure it's just a matter of time before we have to let him go to a bigger team. But before that, we would like to reap the fruits of having Maxim here one more season." |

A rumor I may or may not have made up suggested that Roman Kilun is available. If this were the case, we'd like to bring Roman home to da bay.

Whilst out on a post season training rider Roman Kilun was interviewed by a local reporter.
It's true I am leaving Red Bull, I had a good few years there and had some good little results. The culture of the team changed in the last couple of months, the GM went off to the Tour and guys like me sorta fell off the radar.
Sensing disgruntlement the reporter pressed Roman for more details.
It happened to me a bit at Wikipedia, I put in the hours working hard for some of our leaders.. then I see this list circulating with names of guys who will not be renewed. I'd rather take my chances on the free agents market.
Pressed about his hopes for the future.
Sure CalGiant are sniffing around, but I get the feeling that there are plenty of teams in the CTour who would give me a strong contract to finish my career. Sure I'd give it a go, they've got some great young guys but I am not sure I want to go party there for the dough they are prepared to cough up.

Kilun would certainly be a nice addition to Sram-Riboxx. A possible deal will depend on the transfer fee, though.
I totally missed your last post in my old HQ, sorry for that. We´re very interested in giving Bercz PT-experience. In return we can offer a transfer of Saramotins to Simply Red Bull.

Ever looking to go with passing trends Simply Red Bull team boss Smowz is putting the 'twit' into twitter again.
One of the more controversial tweets already posted included:
Smowz expanded back in the real world when interviewed on local TV.
Edvald Boassen Hagen is a far better rider than his disappointing year at Team B&O suggests and it is not the right time for him to be going to relegation fodder Aker MOT. Simply Markets have asked us to bring in a couple of elite riders and if Edvald is indeed available then a large slice of money would be offered.
Yes I know I have already suggested that young British cobbler Adam Blythe is on the target list, those sorts of riders are the type of elite stars we are talking about.
Smowz taps away at twitter, wanting to clarify his position on Roman Kilun.
Throughs his blackberry to one side in disgust.
Any enquiries for Roman Kilun can be directed to his agent. The guy is through with us.

Vorganov enjoying the prospect of Protour action
Eduard Vorganov may be at the centre of some speculation of a move to a 'home' team, but revealed that he is very much at home with the Simply Red Bull outfit.
I've had a really good season this last one I feel and whilst I am sure I could be successful once again in the CTour, perhaps this is the last chance in my career to be competing at the top league. Yes it would be nice to go and join a team closer to home, but I am not quite at that stage in my career to give up an a really big result.
The Russian revealed he thinks he has the characteristics to get a couple of stage wins at the highest stage.
I am hoping to ride a Grand Tour, possibly the Giro as that gets some press in Russia. That said the Vuelta would probably suit me best. But it is probably the Tour de Suisse or Tirrano Adriatico that I think I really could get a result.
He then planted a bit of a big rumour out there.
The boss is looking to sign someone big, the sponsors want us to do well at the Tour. I like John (Gadret) but he will not be here next year so yeah I think he is looking seriously at making a move for last years tour winner. It means the rest of us are going to be asked to ride for perhaps a little less. Not sure what to think of that to be honest.

Rumours surround Simply Red Bull's goal selection
Smowz was keeping things cryptic in a rather pathetic attempt at trying to cover up his transfer interests.
Obviously France goes mad for the the Tour and we do have a target in mind for this the Daddy of all races
He was questioned about the strange picture appearing on a website.
Our sources suggest that last years Tour winner is looking for some sort of career ending type of salary. I don't think France is that interested in seeing an Italian win the tour again this year, but who knows. I don't know what this picture is about probably French, I don't run the website I am getting into trouble on twitter.
Pinning Smowz down he snapped.
We think we can squeeze into the top ten. Lets face it other than the teams formerly known as Vesuvio, Santander, Pearl Adidas, Festina and Jack Wolfskin the other Protour teams are pretty average. Yeah Bacardi, Sony and Wiggle are pretty good also but I fancy some of the others can be overtaken.

Smowz offers transfer target bombshell
On a recent radio talk show Smowz was helping review the latest cycling season and some transfer targets were released.
I have made it quite clear that I am hoping to bring in some decent talent both young and old. Adam Blythe for example could well be available, but this mornings reports noting how well Megastar Tom Boonen would fit in the Pokerstars outfit worry me slightly.
Pressed on this matter, Smowz revealed more.
With the Tour looking like a Madrazo/Cunego return to me, I felt we may have a better chance of snatching Tom Boonen. We would put a fair portion of our budget aside to land such a rider. But we are prepared to keep our options open of course. Obviously a team like Pokerstars, well versed in cobbled races would probably appear to be a better fit. I feel though they lost a bit of their sprint train ability last year and certainly were not quite the cobbled force of old.
A few more details were leaked.
I'll go on record and say have targetted good results in both the two cobbled Monuments so we will be prepared to pay top dollar for a cobbled type of rider. We may well put all our faith in young Blythe, I am a huge admirer or his.

Simply Red Bull provisionally sign 15 riders for the coming season
Smowz revealed in the twitter-sphere that he had retained 15 riders who have reached a wage agreement for the coming season. The following riders did not receive new contracts:
John Gadret
Sylvian Calzati
Blaise Sonnery
Sven Vanthourhenhourt
Kim Kirchen
Gustavo Veloso
Carlos Alexandre Manarelli
Graeme Brown
Adam Semple
Kin San Wu
Smowz was quick to point out the reasons why:
My differences with John Gadret have been documented before. I paid a primadonna's wage for him and I got a primadonna. The new French sponsors were told that he and Sylvian would likely leave. Sylvian I felt also had a sub-par season last year. Blaise Sonnery could not shake off the stigma of being part of an overpriced transfer deal last year, he's damaged goods in a Red Bull jersey
Smowz added that he thought they could well find teams for next year.
Absolutely with the CTour expansion these guys are going to find squads I am confident. Kim Kirchen and Gustavo Veloso also for me a great road captains'. Sven Vanthourhenhourt and Kin-San Wu are excellent little domestiques who I am imagine would fit well in a number of teams also. Carlos stated his desire to hook up with a few more Portuguese speaking teammates which I understand.
The pair of Australians Adam Semple and Graeme Brown though failed to escape criticism.
To be fair they both showed flashes. Adam is not going to make it frankly, which is a shame maybe he'll be taken in for a couple of years lower down the food chain. I'd be stunned if Graeme gets a contract next year, his condition is a joke.
Smowz also released a provisional list of riders contracted and an estimate of their possible transfer fee.
Come transfer season, I would be happy to entertain offers on any riders that are contracted. Part exchange deals are always particularly welcome. I would imagine offers between pure money offers of between 250,000 and 600,000

Iberia - Comunidad Valenciana is very happy with the announcement from Simply Red Bull that Moreno will be available during the transfer season. We see him as the perfect leader for a Continental team.

Allianz-BMW team its up to match any transfer fee to Moreno, who will be possibly the perfect leader of the squad in the stage races. |

Impey is rumoured to have caught Aker - MOT's attention in the build up to the coming transfer season. Their team manager was quoted earlier today:
Impey is definitely THE rider we want to lead our team for the sprints in the Pro Tour. We have cash to spend, though, it's unknown if Simply Red Bull wants to sell him to us. After all, we're competitors next year aswell.
On the other hand, I think all that voodooing from their team manager towards the end of the 2012 season should see us get him cheap!
What's Simply Red Bull's comment on such a quote? The press is especially interested in a comment about the voodooing.

With the impressive PCT-/CT-compatibility of your squad, you should be able to get rid of anyone you want to get rid of, and many more
I have no idea about your budget, but with these sales, it should be enough to not be too dependent on FAs.

Wrong nationality for Jelloul.
Interesting to see what transfer tactics you go for, selling off your squad isnt usually the best way, but maybe it is

Gadret leaving makes my life easier - Moinard and Cherel could both interest us depending how transfers pan out. |
