CrueTrue has now revealed that this will feature in the 2011 Daily DB. With the DB it is also possible to scout all zones, so Finland, Uzbekistan, China, Japan etc. is now producing young riders.

I have also amde changes to the potential of riders, so now potential 7 riders is not as likely to show up in small countries.

Yes. Exactly. Keep a backup of the original file just in case

I am now working on expanding this project. Currently adding even more surnames for the biggest countries, so that we can get the best possible PCMDaily DB

You're putting a lot of work into this, that's great. It's a very very good addition to this game, well done!

Thanks a lot. Yes, it is quite a work actually, but it all makes for a more enjoyable game

@Everyone: If you download the Daily DB (when it is available) you will get the full benefits of this work. Not only will you get the names for the existing zones, you will also be able to scout all the new zones, for which I also made names. This means, that you can now scout: Mexico, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Zimbabwe, Kenya, South Africa, Tunisia, Oman, Qatar, Israel, Japan, China, Croatia, Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria, Hungary, Hungary, Kirgiszstan, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Turkey, Andorra, San Marino and Finland.

I have also meddled with the potential of riders, so it is now more likely to get a potential 7 rider from Spain than from South Africa, but also more likely from South Africa than Qatar. I have divided the countries into 5 or 6 categories, and adjusted the potential potential (Grin) accordingly.

Thank God, I've always wanted to scout Kirgizstan and Bermuda. What the game's been missing in my opinion. PfftWink

Well...I promised myself that I wouldn't update this further before the release of the Daily DB.

But then I thought that Colombia and Venezuela could need an overhaul, so that is what I am doing now Pfft

When Daily DB is released, and if you find an error in the regen names, please report them in here. Regen names only, as I don't have anything to do with the other stuff

Ulrich Ulriksen

I find it funny that a Ulrich Ulriksen, which sounds German / Danish, helps out with correcting names for US / GBR. Should we add Ulriksen to US? Pfft

It just shows how difficult this can be.

OK, responding to a message from 2 weeks ago since I haven't been on the site in a while. I am UK born and live in the US. Always played sports sims under some bastardized, badly spelled versions of Ulrich so used it as the sign on here. Don't know why I started with Ulrich but certainly wouldn't rely on my knowledge of German or Danish.

On the other hand the point is a good one. As discussed earlier Rik is definitely not the english abbreviation of Richard but I wouldn't argue with including it on a US or english names list to reflect the other influences. Particularly in the US where you could probably take all the names you have and use them.
