Great advice in this thread, so thanks everyone. I'm genuinely nervous about the coming transfers, since like most of the new managers, I'm unsure of how exactly to play it, so all this advice is really helpful
Me too, I can see myself cocking this up really badly.
I have a list of 25 riders and if I can get 20 of them I would be ecstatic. With HighRoad, Intesa and IKEA breaking up at the end of last season most of my targets are now free agents. I can see that being an advantage (they are all possible for me to get) and a disadvantage (they are all possible for everyone else to get).

Can't wait to see the full database.
Ultimately, thats no bad thing for new managers. You cant expect to be perfect straight away, and any mistake you may make will only help you to do better the season after.

Depends. I found it easier to get a rider if he's a free agent rather than under contract with a certain team. E.g. I bet that if Ikea were still here none of their stars will be up for sale
The reward will come the year after though, when they mostly go down (e.g. Uran, Bakelants, ...). Doing a few high waged transfers in the PT, being sure that you keep up though, will get you a good position the next year.
1. The races in the race profiles are in the right order, aren`t they?
2. On the last two pages there are still some "coming soon" threads. Are these for the C2 division or are race profiles missing?
My advice is no different than the ones already given. Try to keep your sheet always up to date, even with non completed transfers, this is really important. Try to establish a maximum amount that can be given to a rider, don't make crazy proposals. Also, it would be better if you have in mind what type of team you want, it can be an all-round team, focused in hills, in stage races, whatever, but it's important to know what you want and build a team with leaders and capable helpers.
