24th January 2010 - Santos Tour Down Under Stage 6 (Adelaide)
The final stage of the 2010 Tour Down Under is a 90km Criterium around Adelaide City. Certainly a stage for the sprinter's, the Overall Classification seems to be well wrapped up, with only a crash or puncture being the reason for Andy Schleck not to win. However, the Points Classification and the Mountain Classification Jerseys are still wide open, so expect a lot of activity as the riders battle til the end to take home the Jersey win.
Riders to watch: T. Farrar, G. Steegmans, G. Henderson, A. Griepel
My tip for the stage: G. Henderson. The Kiwi has already won one stage, and is leading the Points Classification, so I expect him to finish on a high.

24th January 2010 - Santos Tour Down Under Stage 6 (Adelaide)
Henderson ends the Tour Down Under on a high
Greg Henderson won the final stage in Adelaide, ahead of Mirko Lorenzetto and André Griepel. The victory for Henderson also secured the Points Classification Jersey for the Kiwi.
It was a very difficult day for the peleton, with high winds across the whole course. For the first time in the Tour, there was no breakaway, meaning the sprints along the route where taken up by the front of the peleton.
At the 15 km mark, the strong wind took its effect, splitting the peleton in two, with most of the second group containing sprint riders and their lead-out trains. The stage was set for someone who was careful of this possible split, and only Henderson, Griepel, Steegmans and Lorenzetto seemed to be notable sprinters at the end.
Sky had the prefect lead-out for Henderson, who never seemed to be put under pressure as the other riders fought for his wheel. The win for Henderson makes it 2 wins for Team Sky in the Tour Down Under, and they also go away with the Points Classification Jersey to their name.
Henderson takes the plaudits on the line

Team Reaction to the Race:
A very pleasing Tour Down Under for Team Sky. Our first appearance at a ProTour Event, and we come away with a Top 10 finish on the GC, with Russell Downing finishing 7th overall. We also took home the Points Classification Jersey, thanks to the team's excellent work in the lead-out for Henderson. Greg took two victories from the Tour Down Under, as well as a 2nd place and 3rd place finish in the sprints.

1st February 2010 - GP Cycliste la Marseillaise
The stage is based in the hills around Marseille, and looks set to end with a small group of riders contesting the victory. No doubt a breakaway will form as the race goes over the hills and mountains, the favourites will have to work hard in order to secure the victory for themselves.
Riders to Watch: S. Cummings, Y.Trofimov, B.De Waele, J. Bauer
My tip for the stage: Y. Trofimov. The BBox Bouygues Télécom rider has proved in the past he has the legs for this kind of stage, and he should be very strong today.

thanks. he will be the leader, with augustyn and cummings as aids. going to try and get in the breakaway if one forms, most likely with kennaugh. have all options open for the race
EDIT: seems that there may have been an error with the exporting of the startlist etc, as Thomas is not registered for this race. I have just noticed now. Due to this Cummings is now leader, with Augustyn as aid

1st February 2010 - GP Cycliste la Marseillaise
Cummings continues Team Sky's fine form with solo victory
Steve Cummings won the GP Cycliste la Marsiellaise on his first outing for Team Sky, continuing the great form set by the team in the Santos Tour down Under. The Brit paced away from a group of 10 riders with 18km to go, and with the aid of his team-mate, Morris Possoni, he was able to get an unassailable lead to take the victory.
This was a stage of few attacks, with any attacks being nullified by the peleton. As the terrain climbed up the hills and mountains, the peleton began to splinter, with a group of 10 riders being able to gain a small gap. This was soon reduced to 3 riders, 2 of which from Team Sky, and their immense strength resulting in just Possoni and Cummings riding on their own with only the final mountain climb left.
The day would not be perfect for Team Sky, as Possoni fell on the decent, leaving Cummings to continue alone for the victory, 1'06" ahead of second placed Constantino Zabella and Yury Torfimov.
Cummings takes the plaudits!
Final Standings:
1 | Stephen Cummings | Sky Professional Cycling Team | 4h17'21 | 2 | Constantino Zaballa | Centro Ciclismo de Loulé - Louletano | + 1'06 | 3 | Yury Trofimov | Bbox Bouygues Télécom | s.t. | 4 | Bert De Waele | Landbouwkrediet | s.t. | 5 | Florian Morizot | Big Mat - Auber 93 | s.t. | ... | 6 | Morris Possoni | Sky Professional Cycling Team | s.t. | 14 | Peter Kennaugh | Sky Professional Cycling Team | + 1'38 | 19 | Sylvain Calzati | Sky Professional Cycling Team | s.t. | 29 | Nicolas Portal | Sky Professional Cycling Team | s.t. | 30 | John-Lee Augustyn | Sky Professional Cycling Team | s.t. | 32 | Michael Barry | Sky Professional Cycling Team | s.t. | 37 | Davide Viganò | Sky Professional Cycling Team | + 2'45 |
Overall Team Standings:
1 | Sky Professional Cycling Team | 12h54'47 | 2 | Landbouwkrediet | + 1'38 | 3 | Big Mat - Auber 93 | s.t. | 4 | Bbox Bouygues Télécom | + 2'45 | 5 | Skil - Shimano | + 3'17 |
Team Reaction to the Race:
Another pleasing outing from the team. Team Sky looked too strong for the rest, and only a spot of bad luck for Morris Possoni stopped us from taking a One-Two finish at the finish. The team is looking good for a strong finish at the Étoile de Bessèges.
